I've been testing Nikon's new 180-600mm f/5.6-f/6.3 and so far it hasn't disappointed me.
The autofocus is fast and the images are sharp, but not like a prime lens. I compare with my 400mm f/2.8.
The lens is cheap relative to the price so it will definitely be a best selling lens just like the 200-500 f-mount was before. A fantastic light lens that will become one of my most used due to the weight. Well done Nikon.

Your work is truly wonderful and your advice superb. I have a Nikon Z8 with a new 180-600 lens and have tried to find ideal video settings without much success. Do you have any advice in this area? I live in Australia which uses the PAL system but not sure that is important any longer. Keep up the great work.

Göran, these are beautiful images and videos! Your technique is exceptional! Thank you for sharing your experience with the new Nikon 180-600mm lens! Were all of these images taken in Sweden? The kingfisher and dragonflies were especially stunning images!

Thank you Göran, the videos are exceptional! Did you feel limited at all by the slow speed of the lens at 600mm (6.3)? especially while filming in 120fps? I'm using the Z8 with an older 600mm f4g and other faster lenses (f2.8) and was thinking of buying the 180-600, but I'm a little concerned with its potential performance in low light. any thoughts on the matter based on your experience?
