    I got this too in a promotion, I say its good and bad for sure.
    It's great for quick play NES sessions for a few games, but bad that its very limited to this.

      Yeah I have a gba from Amazon for 30$
      And it came with a controller but it’s save feature and big screen tv does not work
      But it has a 2nd controller the same cool baby one but just designed to fit for the gba
      But it has 5 games which are all adventure island 🏝 👑 return
      Sadly I lost the gba but it was great and nostalgic
      Also I got another one which is far worse
      And I modded it to run wolfenstein 3d idk what I was thinking
      Because of limited controls u can’t select weapons or strafe left or right or even save the game
      But all the crops are black and the soldiers are just there silhouette 👤 so does that protagonists face on the bar which is a huge dissapointment
      Atleast it runs wolfenstein since everything runs doom

    Actually the port of Altered Beast is an official port that was released on the Famicom only. Many Sega games got ported to the Famicom by companies like Sunsoft who also released After Burner and Fantasy Zone officially in Japan (these versions are also considered better than the Tengen releases by many people).

      @rerez  Před 6 lety +43

      Oh you're very correct about Altered Beast. What I meant in the video is that the game included in the BittBoy is NOT an official release of that version. Everything on it is pirated or bootleg.

    That "Aladdin 3" game is actually a hack of "Magic Carpet 1001" from the Caltron 6 in 1 cart for the NES...which was essentially an unlicensed multicart...with no pirated games on it. A really interesting bit of Nintendo history.

  • @justanotheryoutubechannel
    @justanotheryoutubechannel Před 4 lety +21

    I love going back to this video sometimes, it’s amazing to think that Bittboy seriously thought it’d sell. Honestly though, as soon as I saw the bootleg Chip ‘N’ Dale sprite on the menu and the 300-in-1 bootleg ROM which has been around for years, I knew it’d be a disaster.

    I've seen several reviews of the BitBoy. Yours was the best. You actually went through all the games, and as far as I know, no other reviewer I've seen has. Although it would have been good to hear about the poor connection the AV out has and how difficult it is to play because it cuts in and out horribly.

    The "new" BittBoy has a functional micro sd slot and doesn't include any games to avoid copyright issues. In fact, it doesn't even boot without a micro sd. It also emulates GB and GBC, has a slightly bigger 2.4" screen, load/save states, a 700mah battery, and you can control volume/brightness using select+A/B and select+TA/TB respectively. Now THAT is a portable console I would love to have!

      See 8 bit Guy's video on this. The company that's making this is pushing this thing really hard and he mentioned how annoying they were to deal with after he agreed to cover it. If they got Shaun to cover it, they must be really desperate right now to get it sold since most youtubers have covered it by now. Granted, Rerez is a great channel and all but still relatively small. Also, if they sent to him (*Giggles like a schoolboy*), it just proves they are an incompetent company because Shane ripped them a new one. Most youtubers seem to have been forgiving, but Shane's right. Great Hardware, mostly bad software. That's sad really because even if it's got pirate stuff on there, it deserves better.

    Oh my god I played Falling Blocks before! It's on the SUPER JOY. A part of the POWER JOY line of bootleg famiclones that's shaped like an N64 controller but with a light gun built into the top end with the Z button being it's clicky trigger, the thumb stick is a d-pad shaped like an analog stick, there's a battery compartment and famicom cart slot in the back for "expansions," and the second controller plugs in via a Genesis/Atari port at the bottom of the middle handle and is shaped like a cartooney PS1 first gen controller which was also packaged with a version of the dreamGEAR bootleg plug n' play actually advertised on HSN. The SUPER JOY only has about 6 or maybe 8 games, half of them are pirated hack light gun games, there's a tank game on there with a pretty decent level editor even though from my experience it doesn't save, and there's Falling Blocks. The coldest most eerie Tetris clone I ever played

    If you want a new version of the 8-bit gameboy just get a GB Boy Colour. The pirated games it comes with are all original GB releases and not weird hacks and bootlegs (they're still pirated, obviously) and it plays actual GB and Game Boy Color cartridges. I don't know who in this day and age is looking for a handheld just for playing NES / Famicom games, let alone one full of crappy bootlegs and hacks.

    Well... Can't I flash my own ROM's into this? It must me using emulators, right?
    Maybe you guys are going out of your way to explicitly state this fact.
    Other than that, can't I just build something like this on my own?

    As soon as i saw the glitched harry potter i immediately said it was aladin 3. Aladin 3 i hear is a very rare nes game too

    • @benjaminvlz

      "Aladdin III" is actually a modified version of an unlicensed NES game called "Magic Carpet 1001." The only difference is that the title screen was removed the main character's minimal speed was decreased. "Harry Potter" is also a mod of Magic Carpet 1001. The game Magic Carpet 1001 was developed by a Taiwanese company called NTDEC (now known as Asder) and originally appeared on an unlicensed NES multicart released by them in 1992 called "Caltron 6-in-1" (later released as "Myriad 6-in-1.") Magic Carpet 1001 in itself is actually a knock-off of the 1988 arcade game "Chuka Taisen" (A.K.A. "Cloud Master") by Taito Corporation.

    What kind of hair gel do you use?

    • @greentray1231
      @greentray1231 Před 6 lety +4

      Gary Oak it seems to not be hair gel but a sort of other hair style product. Like a pomade or such similar. Then he sprays hair spray to keep it in place. His hairstyle would be a bit hard to do as it's standing with regular gel as gel is heavy and will weigh the hair down

      To ignore everything in the video and only focus on what hair gel he uses you should be called "gary glitter"
