It was an Accident/ Crime scene with Officers and EMS working. They're not starting the tournament if he's 10 minutes late because of an accident.
So if Scotty deserved to be arrested, why is the officer put on leave? The officer over reacted, and embellished his report. Hope he loses his job.

Steph A is speculating. Like he said he don't know. Scottie was instructed to go around and had a car identified golf player. The problem you have trigger cops on a power trip. Attach himself to a car. What did the cop think he was Superman? Then the police dept started tacking on a bunch of other charges. Again, you can't have trigger cops working at a golf event.

In this case, we have a multi-millionaire who hits a small ball for a living vs a law enforcement officer who puts his life on the line for a living and whose income may reach 100k with a lot of overtime. It is not a surprise that the small ball hitter thought he could just drive on a median, where traffic is never allowed, because his experience has been that he almost always gets special treatment. I doubt that he will face appropriate consequences, but doubt that he will because the wealthy usually find a way to avoid accountability.
No idea how you can be clear that he deserved to be arrested when there is no video footage of what actually took place.

This is going to be interesting. The Governor and Mayor are both now speaking about this. If the case is dismissed, the police will look bad and it will seem that Scottie has received priority treatment. If the case goes ahead, they will probably just fine him for some of the charges and Scottie will offer an apology or money donated to the police fund. Tiger Woods was in a well documented accident that he caused and police did not charge him. This is a public relations disaster either way.
I’d imagine 15-20 feet is a reasonable distance stop once you realize someone is holding onto your car. Cars go that distance in less than a second even when slowly accelerating

How is Stephen A reporting this later than everyone else after certain facts came out and still report it wrong. The golfers were give instruction to bypass traffic. Scottie was in a marked vehicle that was supposed to let that happen. The officer was easily identified and jumped onto the car. Scottie stopped when he realized what was actually happening. It doesn't take long to drive 10 yards in a car so honestly its not that far after the cop jumped on it. There was a miscommunication between officers and or officials. Which is why this officer tried stopping him. Hence the arrest.

In all my years, I have never seen someone charged with assault on police officer(we know it wasnt technically assault) but have never seen a person released and back out within 90 minutes....they really showcased the legal system this week
