- The 12-1, #2 Alabama Crimson Tide (champions of the SEC) took on the 12-1, #3 Michigan State Spartans (champions of the Big 10) in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Cotton Bowl Classic from Dallas, TX. The winner would advance to face the #1 Clemson Tigers for the national championship.
That interception just before halftime psychologically destroyed Michigan State. If they had scored a touchdown at least they could have stayed competitive in the second half but instead they got steamrolled.
Had they scored that TD it would’ve ended 38-7 or 38-10 at most. That Michigan St. team was extremely well coached (I loved their coach, Dantonio as he made Michigan St the big brother against Michigan) but their recruiting wasn’t elite… or even good. He recruited good college players don’t get me wrong, just not NFL caliber players all around. The highest class they signed that was on this team were the freshman class that ranked 23. The soph/JR/SR classes were in the 30’s. Plus they ran a NFL offense. Gotta be spread to beat Bama unless Bama’s team is riddled with injuries. I.E. ‘22 NC game. I mean they played an Iowa team that they beat last second the week prior. Back then Iowa had maybe 7 low ranked 4 stars on their teams. The win against Ohio St. was awesome tho. I can still see that kicker. Urban game plan was the dumbest thing I’d ever seen.
Yea I think that interception took the life out of MSU. They make that TD I think the game may have been much closer.

Well this was my favorite but the 2020 Saban team is now my favorite, it was soo good. Sark really made the offense look so good with 3 Heisman candidates in the top 5.
2020 was definitely the best cause a lot of players came back to do exactly what they did. 2009. Only two 5 stars started for Bama and they were just mean as hell on defense.

As a Michigan fan this was a great game to see. That Michigan State team was arrogant and cocky, and if it weren’t for 2 Fluke plays they wouldn’t even be here. It was great to see them get humbled

I'll always remember Henry stiff arming Calhoun like a ragdoll even though he was 260 lb DE. This game really started the decline of MSU football and they still haven't recovered.

Playing Bama. Teams should do more old style plays. Screen passes, short routes. Kind of what Miami doing in the mid 1990s. Bama defense is just simply too fast for long passes and too strong for inside run plays.

thedungeondelver Thanks for pointing this out. It won't play for me either. I checked if there's a copyright claim, but there isn't. There's nothing unusual about the video info/settings either, and I certainly haven't changed anything. I have to think it's something with CZcams. Hopefully they'll get it resolved.
I've downloaded it using FLV downloader and it plays perfectly; no glitches or anything. I would _think_ that if you'd gotten flagged, they'd simply have removed the video and we'd all see a notification. The 2015 Georgia game does the same as this one, and there's at least one other. All I can think is it's on YT's side as a server problem.

And this past year, you didn't even win your conference and got exposed as frauds just like you said Michigan St was the year before, allowing the 2 by far best teams to rematch. I think it was on #56 Tim Williams who wasn’t even in on the play. Looks like he kinda checks the dude before he ran into him. I listened to Reggie Ragland on a podcast about a week ago and he talked about how Williams wasn’t the kinda dude you messed with/played pranks on/talked shit to.
