- The #4, PAC-12 champion Washington Huskies (12-1) faced the #1, SEC champion Alabama Crimson Tide (13-0) in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Peach Bowl from Atlanta, GA. This was the final football game played at the iconic Georgia Dome. It was also Alabama's 39th bowl victory (most all-time) and the final game of a 26 game winning streak for Alabama, the second longest such streak in school history. Alabama has twice won 28 games in a row: 1978-1980 and 1991-1993.

As much crap as I gave Scarbrough in the regular season, he stepped up big when the big prize was on the line. If he doesn't get injured in the national championship game, Alabama probably repeats as national champions.

@@greysonsciaraffa9285 Tbh Washington was a great team that year if their offense had not gone turnover crazy in this game it would've a great game. Nonetheless, compared to some of the one sided blow outs we've seen in the playoffs this still surprisingly remains one of the closer playoff games where one team didn't just plain embarrass the other (although Bama certainly dominated). That goes to show you how terrible the committee is at picking playoff teams.
This UW team was really good Browning just lost all arm strength and confidence because of a shoulder injury. It’s no shame losing to Bama

A lot of nfl talent on both sides of the ball, guys like Baker and Gaskin really show up on the film and have been doing well at the next level , obviously for bama loads of guys like Humphrey and Minkah ..these were some talented teams!!
Probably 14 or 15 of Bama's starters in that game are still in the NFL.

This game was such a weird game NFL players from both teams all over the field. Each team had made mistakes it's just one of those games the underdog isn't able to capitalize and the favorite does and that's the difference in the outcome. A closer game than what the score indicated. 0:53, 4:40, 9:42, 12:20 (16 point swing) if you pay attention to field position.

Jalen is definitely a much better quarterback today than he was then. You can see the inconsistencies with his passing and he ran a lot because of that. I believe he will definitely do well in Philadelphia considering that he’s a mobile quarterback and he’s a much better pass now. Go Eagles!!

Washington used motions and shifts to score the first drive of the game. After that the Alabama coaches made adjustments and the Washington offense had nothing else to offer. Bo and the Alabama offensive line were very effective.
The only thing that really bothers me about the game is that Alabama cheated mid-way through the 3rd quarter and the refs let them get away with it. Watch the right defensive tackle for Alabama on the third and 6 play with 5:21 to go in the 3rd quarter. He claps his hands right before the snap. He messed the play up for the Huskies because clapping to signal for the snap was common for UW that year. This should have been a delay of game penalty against Alabama.
It should have been a five yard penalty moving Washington from their own 13 to their own 18. I have to say that it seems like a bit of a hyper specific thing to still be bothered about, but you are right that it was a missed call.
@@BamaRewind What bothers me is that is was a clear and intentional successful attempt at cheating. This was not a hold, facemask, hands to the face, or facemask which happen by mistake or preventing a big play.
Alabama beat Washington without a passing game.
And apparently one of the few running plays we had was the QB draw.
To be fair part of that was because Washington had a great pass defense. The Bama OL and RB size just took its toll on UW

It was a good victory, but Bama fans could clearly tell something was not right about this game; particularly concerning the offense. I couldn't quite put my finger on was was "off" about the team that day. However, after the game when all the stuff about Kiffin not being dialed in came out and he was asked to go ahead and move on, it made a lot more sense.
Score wasn't great but I forgot how good of a game this was.

@@TsoRein can still remember sitting in the stands at Tampa stadium, and Jalen not seeing Alabama's open receivers all night. Everyone I was sitting by was yelling, "just look to your left/right, damn it". He would just throw the ball out of bounds or over throw a Ridley, who had to turn around and play the role of defensive back, or look like he was waiting for a punt, down field and another three and out and their defense had to go chase Watson around. Alabama, easily, left 21 points on that field...just get a few third downs, third and shorts...nope. Clemson shut down his running lanes, with one exception. That game should've been, essentially over by the start of the fourth quarter, with Alabama having close to if not 50 points. Thank God for Tua...as long as he can play on two good legs as opposed to just one.
