This makes me very emotional watching this game. This was the very last time my Grandpa got to see Ohio state play. He was on his deathbed and a die hard Buckeye fan. He got to see them win one last time. He died only a few hours after. The best part that came out of all this is I told him to send help from above and they went on to win the championship. This game will forever hold a special place in my heart. ❤

I’m an Alabama fan, and I was in the 6th grade watching this game live. Alabama was not prepared to play this game at all, even from the opening kickoff as you pointed out. Ohio State deserved to win this game.

Alabama played some really sloppy games that season, they had a super talented team but had stretches of really sloppy play. Plus Blake Sims was a decent QB but was turnover prone against good competition.

I get emotional rewatching this. I remember I had a big surgery coming up a day or two after this game. So my dad decided to take me out to eat to watch this game. It was insane. I had never been so excited about a college game until that moment. I will NEVER forget that moment. I’m ready for part 2! Bring it on Bama! LETS GO BUCKEYES!!!!!!!

My tension level for the Oregon game was zero compared to this.
When Alabama went up 21-6, everyone thought the game was over. Looked like it was gonna be a Bama blowout. I think the fact that the Buckeyes had the character to keep fighting is incredible.

Can’t believe this was almost ten years ago and the first cfp. One for the ages. My dad went to the natty in 02 but I’m glad he got to see one more before he died. I think about him every time I watch the buckeyes. He’s the reason I’m such a die hard fan. I remember him, my uncles and older cousin playfully beating up on me every time they scored against Michigan in 02. I remember him losing faith in 04 and I went to watch the game on a 9 inch tv when Troy stepped up, then out, rolled out and found gonazalez. I remember jumping up and down on the furniture when Ted ginn ran the opening kick against Florida back in the natty only to find out he broke his ankle in the celebration and ended up getting their ass beat and starting the superior sec narrative. I remember defending jt Barrett against his harsh judgments (we were both right in retrospect). I remember him fawning over Trevor Lawrence and me hating it because he was ruining our seasons. I love Ohio state football because of my dad and it’s been a constant in my life that has lasted longer than pretty much anything else. My cousin makes a living running an OSU blog. This is our life. And I wouldn’t have it with any other teamZ
That was a classic OSU win, a program that loves a brawl in big game. There's something about big games that certain programs never lay down, never stop fighting, love trading punches. They did it again against Clemson the year after. There's something in the DNA of OSU football that makes the impossible possible. Remember that win over Miami where Maurice Claret ripped the interception out of the hands of the defense to get the ball back? Things like that happen every big-time OSU game.
Still the best college football playoff story so far everyone saying they didn’t belong in the playoffs and then winning the national championship with a third string quarterback

As a Michigan fan, it’s fitting that osu defeated Bama and then dominated a pac 12 team (Oregon) in the championship in the first 4 team cfp and then Michigan defeats Bama in the Rose bowl and dominates a pac 12 team (Washington) in the last 4 team cfp🤌 B1G strong
2 of the greatest CFB coaches going at it in Meyer and Saban. 2 of the greatest CFB programs, hell of a game.. Between this and the 2019 game between clemson and Ohio st are up there in some of the best games ever.
Clemson defeating Ohio State 31-0 was exciting. Ohio State is 1-4 against both Clemson and Alabama. This makes both Clemson, Georgia and Alabama as the 3 top teams in the nation.

That’s saying something because while I’m watching this they had at least a dozen guys who were starters for 4-5 years including some pro bowlers. Didn’t Landon Collins almost win DPOY ? I agree and I would even go as far to say that OSU made them look bad. The only reason I say that is because the 2013 class for Ohio State a lot of them went into the NFL. I would say that it was OSU had young players, but NFL caliber talent that year nonetheless. Also I think that Alabama wasn't as good that year compared to other years.
