Added functionality is nice, but not a fan of the huge housing around it. I would have preferred more of a "tablet" appearance with a flat blanking plate over the dash behind it.

from my experience will get worse. my android unit lost it's max brightness and fast response.

Screen brightness is adjustable. Mine was set at default to half way.
Even getting the wires out of the bag filled me with anxiety 😂

There is however something to keep in mind, which is the build quality of those units, and therefore reliability. I installed one on my focus, quite nice experience, but, exactly one month after warranty expired the unit just died. AliExpress seller did not respond to any message... So just be careful what you buy and from where
I hate my fiesta too but I love it because it's mine and paid off and no one expect assholes who wreck it can take it from me cause I'm gonna drive it till the wheels fall off

Thought about doing this but decided to buy a tablet and car mount instead
When I realized that there was no product with a good design, but only things that made my central part of the dashboard look like a TV with a CRT screen I left it alone, there are only things that make everything very square and protruding and really clash with the design of the interior and the car in general.
Surely this thing makes the car more modern but certainly not more beautiful.
There are other Android player unit that’s smaller and fits into just the screen area so you don’t have a huge slab in the middle of the car.
They have released a new model of this with a curved screen that looks much better.

It's not as easy dropping in an aftermarket dual din head unit into my Mk7 Fiesta, the biggest problem I faced was obtaining the right facia plates and interface module for the steering wheel controls, And to keeping the original vehicle settings menu functionality, in order to still access the interior accent lighting menu and mirror fold controls. I thought about installing one of these cheaper vertically orientated android units, but ended up settling for a premium DAB HDMI Sony unit. Thanks for sharing.

I went with this route aswell but I lost the functionality to use the top screen and my parking sensors rarely work. The kit I got was supposed to let me hold the centre button down to access the top screen but I can only use the steering wheel button to control music on the sony unit. Did you have any of these problems?
@@scuzzoo The only intermittent issue I get with the after-market interface is occasionally the steering wheel buttons would ignore the head units custom button assignments, and the volume would increase on both up and down wheel buttons. I discovered a quick thump on the buttons got them working every time and so left it at that. Regarding the top screen menu and it's functions, mine still works, if I hold the centre menu button for three seconds, the upper clock's menu and features can still be adjusted via the steering wheel buttons. This may differ on your BUS module variant.
These android head units are great, but you do have to remember a little security with them. One thing, if your car is ever stolen, whatever Google account is setup on them is fully exposed as there are no locks. So have a think about security and stuff like that with them. I would make sure to use a different Google account to your main one as if someone gets access, they would have your gmail, contacts and everything on yout Google account. Other than that, they are great little units and a great upgrade. Have to admit, this one is not the prettiest install. It is relatively ugly.
If you are using Carplay or Android auto and none of the options in the unit, I'd suggest looking at an add on screen that only does carplay, as these are usually a lot cheaper than a full android head unit.

This was the reason why I refused to buy a Fiesta. The board was very ugly. Now it's a different car, you did the best job. I can't believe how good it looks and how many functions it has!!!

The only issue with this, is : most Fiesta drivers sit with their seat in the lowest position, and the seat squab angled back at a 45 degree angle (I'm a race car driver style).
They won't be able to see out of the windscreen with that thing in the way.
On second thoughts, most of them don't look anyway, carry on .....
I only know two Fiesta drivers personally, and they don't sit with the seat in the lowest position.

The SIM card slot is more likely to be used for data, instead of tethering from your phones mobile hotspot, or from having to use a mobile hotspot box. I just use the hotspot box in all my cars.

now on their site, there's your video in the product description ;) I do have version before android 10 and now it's become very darn slow ;x I have asked them if they can send me an upgrade to android 10-13 and they refused. AH got 1 question do we have to pay now an additional tax as they are sending units from the china ...
Looks great, but the problem i see is that its android 10 and we are already on 13 and after a few years it will be too old to run the apps, had this problem with a phone recently, also can the sat nav be updated? or is it not updatable, that is another issue, wouldn't want to pay all that money for something that will be unusable after a few years. They need to bring out software updates, until then i will keep my old unit.
Will maintenance reminders still work with this?

I upgraded my Hyundai 2010 i30 with a Sony unit, doesn’t always connect to CarPlay which is really annoying but at least I can change the tracks with the steering wheel

Set security on the device if you are going to sync any personal emails and data in case your car gets stolen, stops the thief getting access to your personal emails, set a passcode at start up, if you find that a hassle then don't log into anything
The risk is the same as getting your phone stolen.

21:10 I was hoping in vain to see how the CarPlay springboard looks like without the top menu bar. When the top menu bar is hidden, do you have two or three rows of Apple CarPlay apps on screen?

Hi SpyderLEE. At exactly 4:33, that is like a small glove box, to store a cellphone, wallet or whatever. You are suppose to push it and it opens. You broke yours. The new setup looks nice though.

The original ford system was pretty ugly…. But this aftermarket system takes ugly to a whole new level.

I bought the same display and have had a problem since then that my exterior mirrors no longer fold in automatically when I lock the car. Do you know what I can do?
Turn your heater on high and roll up the windows for 30 minutes before removing any interior pieces. You might save yourself a broken clip.

There is a reason the US Navy is switching away from touch screens.
Cable management would drive me insane with them rattling about behind the dash, cable ties would have came in handy. Overall if your looking to upgrade an older vehicle to a newer looking Android/Apple interface i guess its an improvement but i'd rather put the car in and upgrade the car with newer tech already included. My 2023 Grandland X boasts a fully digital screen and its good but the satnav part looks smaller than the older version even though it states its bigger its just more wasted space around the edges of the screen.
This is probably more aimed at the people that haven’t got 30k to drop on a new car or dont want to be up to their eyes in debt for a car. A few hundred quid is much easier to swallow.
@@SpyderLEE yeah i get that my first car i bought for £98 @17 was 34 years old it done me good to get to work and back while i saved for something newer while not breaking the bank, i'm now 53 it took alot of time and hard work to get this far but it can be achieved. Spending a ton of money on a radio head unit is not gonna add value to your vehicle a simple phone holder can achieve the same job till you upgrade your car.

I have a 2012 fiesta with the same red screen. And it has "Sync" i'm not sure what model to get 09-12 or 13-17 because the 09-12 says "without sync" but I do have sync?
Serious question: is that actually an MOT fail? As you can see from sat in the drivers seat how sticking up so far from the dash it will create blind spots on the N/S corner. I struggle to see how it would be road legal assuming dash cams/air fresheners and any other non standard detritus is a technical fail.
I was thinking the same thing really when I fist saw the height installed. It does tend to sit quite high above the dashboard line. As they say...'if it's not broken, don't fix it'.

Modern system in an 80's pod, i couldn't stop laughing at how vulgar that looks, but a well presented video. I can't see many people doing that to their old Fiesta

I have a 2015 mk 7.5 Fiesta and I purchased this kit hoover was left disappointed that I got the wrong loom and wrong decoder. The loom and decoder was for the 2009 to 2014 Fiestas. The 2015+ radios have an extra plug and there's not a socket for the extra plug on the loom. Thankfully they said they have the correct loom and decoder for the 2015+ models, as at the moment I can't integrate the steering wheel buttons and also the sound quality is terrible as the equaliser and amp and split over two sockets

and if you cant use climate, try to change a canbus settings, sometimes it helps. here in our russian youtube version there is about Raizer canbus when changing car settings its helps someone. or if you cant change, maybe can bus only gets can requests. in my case i got only one can channel I-CAN or MM-CAN, but in newer there is two can chanels which goes to sync system I-CAN and HS-CAN in sync 2-3 there is 3 can channels i-can or mm-can, then hs-can (main can) and ms-can for not so important parts

Hi i brought on couple of days ago told them what year and model my car and its 2009 ford fiesta they have given wiring loom for a 2013-14 wiring loom i have emailed them they have sent me a bill for the loom what should cost me £10 they said bur pressed the link for the payment but bill is £44 so this is getting annoying

How did you change it from KH to Miles (MPH)? I’ve installed it however my car changed to Kilometres which is frustrating.
You may need an OBD programmer to change that if your dashboard doesn't have an option to switch between the kilometers, yards and miles. However, backing up everything is the key before making any changes. It's also super important which programmer you get off the store.
