As far as I know, Twilio has no physical limit on the number of messages per day (but you might need to validate this on their website).

@CodingIsFun This is a great tutorial and I've successfully re-created what you've done here. I'm curious if there is a way to specify on what date and time a message should be sent out. I have a list of guests whose phone numbers I've collected over the last year and would like to send them a "Happy Holidays" text; however, I'd prefer to throttle the frequency with which they're sent out.

I know this is not necessarily what you're covering but is there a way to add the first name of the contact automatically into the text? (Like a merge tag?)
I tried inserting the name into the a column and adding =a9 into the message but it would not pick up the formula.
I figured it out, Not sure if it's the right way, But I add names to the a column and than in the message I put "=CONCATENATE(A9," Text you'd like to add")" and it filled in the name as well as the message.

*Longer answer is as follows:*
In general, to 'receive' the messages, Twilio is using a webhook.
In simple terms, Twilio will notify your web server whenever they receive an SMS message.
The more extended version on what a Webhook is:
Webhooks are user-defined HTTP callbacks. They are usually triggered by some event, such as receiving an SMS message or an incoming phone call. Twilio makes an HTTP request (usually a POST or a GET) to the URL configured for the webhook when that event occurs.
To handle a webhook, you only need to build a small web application to accept the HTTP requests. Almost all server-side programming languages offer some framework for you to do this. Examples across languages include ASP.NET MVC for C#, Servlets and Spark for Java, Express for Node.js, Django and Flask for Python, and Rails and Sinatra for Ruby. PHP has its own web app framework built-in, although frameworks like Laravel, Symfony and Yii are also popular.
That being said, VBA is not a server-side programming language. Hence, it is not very straightforward to receive (and reply) messages using only VBA 😕

After looking at the Twilio documentation, you should be able to use the alphanumeric sender ID instead of the 'From' number.
In that case, you need to do a minor modification to the VBA code. See below:

i use my mobile on desktop using ADB and i love that. its save my time because all i need to do like sms or calling someone its on my finger tip
i never touch my phone during the programming or somthing else on laptop. just change the tab and see my mobile screen on desktop.

Good evening... I'm using this and trying to send a message using my Twilio that is 200 characters long. However, for some reason, it only sends the first 58 characters. Any idea why this would happen?

I do not have a template for sending MMS using VBA, but it is possible with the Twilio API. Have a look at the docs:

Thanks for watching the video. Sorry to hear that you are facing difficulties. Is there any more information in the error message? If you are using the free trial version of Twilio, you can only send SMS to pre-registered phone numbers. Perhaps this might be the issue.

When attempting to send SMS to numbers I entered - I get the status code 400 - that I sent to invalid numbers with the "+" symbol - although none of the numbers i entered lead with a +
Do I need to add a country code?
Or how can I fix this?

@@CodingIsFun after more trials. You have to have the country code in place of the destination number to successfully send. Works great.
Amazing and easy to use. I've only had one issue and it appears that you can only text 79 characters from the Text Message field. Is there a fix for this? I would love to be able to send the whole 160 characters.

@@CodingIsFun Figured out why my message was getting cut off. I have an "&" (ampersand) in my message and it stops at the "&". If I change it to "and" then it sends. Do you know how to edit so I can use the "&"?

Hi, I changed the POST to GET and I can connect to Twilio. But my request is being rejected and I am getting Error Code 20011
Saying:
"INVALID TLS Version" , The request was rejected because it was not correctly configured to use TLSv1.2 . All new accounts are required to use TLSv.12 with supported cipher suites.
Could anyone help please?

You can also insert links in the text. Please try it out. Here is what the SMS looked on my phone:

For the variable name, you would need to tweak the code a little further.
Example placeholder {NAME}. In the VBA code, you can use Replace("{NAME}", "Peter").

From ur doc, the set request was
Microsoft.XMLHTTP
From video, it is
MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP.6.0
It's the object that cause request postdata issue..
Any idea?
@@CodingIsFun If I leave set request to Microsoft.XMLHTTP, message send with code 201. It's a success, but I need to add 1 in from of area code to make it work. Here comes new question.
