Just a heads up about the trophy list for the Japanese PS3 and some of the PS4 games.
-Yakuza 5 PS3 shares its trophies on both Japanese and English, meaning you can't earn them twice on PS3.
-Kenzan doesn't have trophy support, as it was released before trophies were added to PSN.
-Both 1 and 2 HD have their own separate trophy lists with their own platinum each.
-Kiwami 1 has a separate trophy list on both PS3 and PS4 (at least according to my PSN profile, where the PS3 isn't listed along side the PS4 verison of my Japanese Kiwami 1 trophies.)
-OG Ishin does share a trophy list between PS3 and PS4 I believe.
-Yakuza 6 also has a separate trophy list for the Japanese verison.
-Yakuza 7's platinum on PS4 is actually far easier to earn in the Japanese verison due to the true final millium tower being a paid DLC over there.

That's probably the only game I still don't really understand. Is there a reasoning behind which cards earn points, or is it simply just remembering the combinations?
@@ZoroNoZolo to be honest, I didn't fully get the Game until I went for the 100% in Yakuza 3 Remastered{just recently started 4re}
~The Main goal is to get certain combination of Cards to earn pts; whether that's a 1pt Victory or More pts, if you call "Koi" you extend the round and risk earning more pts or having your opponent earn 1 or more pts and Not Calling Koi{ending the Round}. Victor keeps any pts they got, loser doesn't keep any regardless of how much.
+ In many versions{and some offer it as a setting once you unlock harder opponents}: 7+ pts Double your score; and you get paid out on the Difference in pts at the end. So if you have 40+ pts and your Opponents has none, you earn big!!! {In the Settings, you can change the Wager amount for more pay out}
~Cards are grouped in Sets of 4, so remembering that 1 card can be grabbed using 1 of the other 3 is Helpful; but the Major ones you want to try going for are the "Lights"{IDK the actual name, far right pile cards}, as well as, the "Moon Viewing" & "Cherry Blossom Viewing" Combos.
+ Both "Moon Viewing" & "Cherry Blossom Viewing" Require the "Sake Cup"{the Red/Yellow Flower card with Characters in the Flower} and either the "Moon" card or the Card with the Big Amount of Flowers covering it {Lets just call it the "Cherry Blossom"}. Getting either combo earns you 5 pts each!! {once again, getting 7+ Double the score; so if you get the combo, you can risk earning more for big reward or just ending it there without the risk}
+ Collecting 3 to 5 of the "Lights" also gives you a lot of pts for Combos{the one with the Man on it Requires 3 other "Lights" to score pts, having him by himself with 2 others don't}. In addition, both the "Moon" card and the "Cherry Blossom" card are both "Lights"; so, if your Opponent happens to get the "Sake cup" before you can, you can still use them to Score big.
+ "Boar, Deer, Butterfly" require you to assemble the 3 cards listed for it to earn pts; or at the very least, getting 1 of the 3 can stop your opponent from Assembling it themselves.
+Getting 10 cards in the Far Left stack is worth 1pt, and any pass that will earn you additional pts. the same is true for the Middle Stacks, except they need 5 cards to earn 1pt
+ If you think your opponent is about to earn a pts, you can settle for a low score and go onto the next round; and etc etc on mind-gaming who gets what cards, etc etc...
+ Last thing I swear: Not all cards can show up in a Round, and sometimes your Opponent has a very Goated hand. RNG be like that... but I have found it to be a fun game!
I still enjoyed my time with it even though I wasn't too sure of what I was doing, but this helps a lot. Thank you for taking the time to explain it!
I you're still confused, the cards that you pick absolutely matter. The ones I always recommend trying to get is the Moon card (the red one with white moon), the Chrysanthemum one with the red tag, and the cherry blossom one with the fence looking thing. The reason I suspect they give points as such is their frequency in hands, as they are in hands that are worth the most but there are few substitutions

Holy shit it's surprising how similiar our Yakuza playthrough history is. I started in July 2022, played through yakuza 0 to yakuza 4 in 2022 and 2023 and recently finishing up yakuza 5 in 2024. I've got only yakuza 5 legend mode and challenges left to do. 100% completion list out of the way

Wait that's actually insane. The same exact month and year I got my first plats in the series. You'll most likely finish the series before me since I'm replaying them from the beginning, but I'm curious if we would have finished around the same time otherwise.

I 100% this game in the end of January 2024 on my PC that I had so much fun with this game, it however gave me a range of emotions I never felt before.
Took you long enough
I finished the entire in-game completion list during my first Platinum attempt for this game, but gave up for months after hitting a wall with the climax battles. I played every other game in the series (excluding spin-offs which I'll get to soon and IW which I'm still playing rn) before coming back to it. I love this series but I suck at it so "do these arbitrarily difficult fights" was a real challenge lol. Finally went back to it last week and slammed my head against That One Climax Battle (that godforsaken Majima style switching one. Looks like you didn't have much trouble with it, but it took me so many attempts until the rng let me pass it). Thank god the Ultimate Battles were way more straightforward (after I cheesed the hell out of that Sera fight) and I finally got that last trophy.
I definitely died a few times with the Majima fight when he's constantly switching styles, I just didn't show it because it is a lot of rng. This was also my second time, so I knew what to expect going into it. I'm glad you stuck with it though after doing everything else. If you've not done the Kiwami climax battles yet though, I wish you luck 🫡
@@ZoroNoZolo Ah gotcha, I could see that not being particularly interesting content for the video haha. And yeah I haven't gotten around to Kiwami's climax battles yet but I've certainly heard their reputation. The urge to complete these games is a blessing and a curse.
Congrats on getting the Platinum again, but I have some questions to ask you to help me 100% Yakuza 0
1. What is the strat for the Arcade games like Space Harrier and outrun because I believe on PC compared to console you have less lives for games like space harrier.
2. What website did you use to help you learn and understand how to play Mahjong efficiently
For space harrier, you just want to constantly be moving and using rapid fire (R2). During boss fights, they aim based on your positioning, so if you just keep switching sides on screen, you'll have more space to dodge.
Instead of braking in outrun when you get to a big turn, you want to shift to low gear. This will help you maintain your speed and allow you to make those turns without going off the road.
As for Mahjong, the guide I used was the Mahjong completion guide on PSNProfles.

I am also a trophy hunter and I've bought most of the Japanese versions of every game to Plat them someday, too :) Congrats on Platinuming 0 twice out of all Yakuza options, as that game is really a challenge, even more so if you don't know Japanese (the password Substory, goddamn XD). Seriously, brilliant work! I actually got Western and Chinese Kiwami's Plat, and I don't know any Chinese (I do know some Japanese, though), so it is definitely doable with a nice Cyricz's guide next to you :) Can't wait for your next Plat videos! :)

I think for now, I'm going to do the rest of the games in English, and then when I actually know some Japanese, go back and try to do the Japanese versions without a translator. It's cool seeing all the slight changes made for each version to appeal to those audiences more, like Lao Gui being a well-known Chinese actor in the Chinese version of 0. I'm curious though, if you have the platinum for Kiwami twice, have you finished the series, or is that your favorite of the Yakuza games?
@@ZoroNoZolo That is the best way to enjoy the saga, of course! First, you go for enjoyable playthroughs, and then if you want the extra challenge, well, who's going to stop you? :)
In my case, it's partly because I love Japanese and because I am a translator, and just like you said, there is also the fact that you can see the changes that were made for each version, which are so cool sometimes! For example, during the last Shimano fight in Kiwami you will listen to the vocal version of Receive You, which does not happen in the Western version. I guess this is because of copyright reasons, given that the opening cutscenes for the older Yakuza games had also a different music track (and even video) depending on the region. The Lao Gui detail was also a neat one, even more so when you see that he's even more prominent on the Chinese box art of the game XDD
About your last question, I do have finished the mainline games, yep! I just got to 86% trophy completion on Infinite Wealth a couple of days ago, but I feel like I am going to leave that Plat for a bit later. It's such a big game! I poured more than 250 hours into it, and that's without a Plat. Crazy number xD At least all those hours were truly fun, unlike the grinding in 5, for example xD. Last, but not least, Kiwami is one of my favourite Yakuza games, despite some minor details, so when I got back into it, I had a blast with it, even if I did not understand 99% of what I saw on my screen (the 1% that I did get was thanks to my Japanese knowledge, phew XD). It's so funny, many people would say that Platinuming Kiwami is really hard, and even if I do agree on the fact that it's not one of the easiest Yakuza games, I got so used to that game's completion that it just felt great getting that nice 100% rate on the Completion List again :)
@rror1993 I was surprised myself when I saw that Kiwami actually has the rarest platinum in the series. Out of all the Yakuza games that I've 100% so far, Kiwami was actually the game I spent the least amount of time on. I guess doing it right after Yakuza 0 really prepared me for everything since there's a lot of similarities between them
@@ZoroNoZolo I totally agree with you! Do remember that Kiwami was the first Yakuza game to be offered with a PS Plus subscription, so that is also a biiig factor when it comes to checking stats on PSN Profiles xD. I do also agree on saying that all the stuff that you do on 0 get you so, so prepared for Kiwami, and then you get to Kiwami and everything is so much easier in terms of most minigames, and when it comes to combat, just get the Tiger Drop and you'll still be playing Easy mode on Legend xD. The only real hard part is the car chase on Legend if you are not good at rail-shooters, but apart from that, it did not seem that hard to me xD. I am still dreading going back to Yakuza 3, though. The only mainline game I have not Platinumed yet (8 will be mine soon xD) and I just don't want to endure pool hell. Fuck that right off xD
Anyway, I will try not to forget to leave another comment on your Evil Within video, yet another videogame that I absolutely love and that I have also ALMOST Plat'ed twice. I left the PS3 version (what an experience on that console xD) right where you shoot Ruvik to the face before the Plat, so I gotta get back to it one day :)
@rror1993 Pool in Yakuza 3 is without a doubt the hardest thing I've had to complete for the series so far. Beating the AI on hard is actually the only clip I have from my first time playing that game. You literally have to be perfect to win, and I hit the luckiest shot of my life to do it.
I appreciate you checking out the Evil Within video too, although I feel like I've improved quality wise a lot since then. Definitely plan on doing the Evil Within 2 in the future because I loved the challenge of Akumu, as frustrating as it was. I absolutely won't be touching it on the PS3 though lol

2:51 - Ah, the bad old days of fulfilling the requirements of a trophy on PS3 and then checking if the hard drive light had started going crazy. The hard drive light would always start going crazy if the trophy was about to unlock.
This was actually my first time playing a game on the PS3, so I'm not sure what that is lol

@suhsnow I knew dead souls was rough but didn't know it was supposed to be the hardest. I already planned on doing that one around Halloween this year. I also heard that the newer games were actually getting easier, so I'm kind of happy in a way that they're sticking with tradition, even though I know I'm in for some long grinds.

For the dance battle climax battle you can just spam your getup attack against theirs for an easy win

24:49 I feel like there's something I only noticed after trying to beat the japanese version of kiwami.
WHY ARE NONE OF THE COLORS MATCHING. The balanced gears are Blue but the balanced frame is black. The speed motor is green but speed frame is red but the red gears are BOOST not speed and white is power which is the only "power" item in the game.
None of the pocket racer items are color coordinated and it makes me MAD because i cannot understand japanese so these colors not matching makes what should be a game that transcends language barrier into fighting google translate featuring my phone camera from 2018

I think most of the game took me like a hundred hours, and then like a hundred hours on the realastate minigame which took forver. And yes i did just cheese amon by shooting him with golden pistol with infinite ammo because he has a ridiculous amount of health, and i wanted to win.
Real estate look longer than I liked but I did it for the money. Doubt I’ll do it again given the time investment

I 100%ed Zero, Kiwami, Kiwami 2 and 3 Remastered so far.
3 Remastered was the worst experience out of them all so far. Zero was just plain fun because it is a great game. Kiwami was tedious and Kiwami 2 was relatively easy.

I actually kinda enjoy all of it (except catfight club), so it was fun to revisit it all. I may not be okay mentally though

@@ZoroNoZolo me neither before 7! By that time I had played until kiwami 2 , but I pre ordered it on launch , and completed first on ps4 , on Xbox I completed it right before infinite wealth . My advise would be level up as you go along! On some boss fights the levels can spike without warning on 7

Genuine question why didnt you just play the american english release? Are the achievements different?
I already had every trophy for the ps4 English version except for one, so I didn't want to make a video off of one trophy. The trophies on every version are the same, just a different list to show trophies popping for the video. I guess I could have just done it on another account, but I thought it would be cool to see if the game was any different in Japanese (a lot of the music used was different in the JP version).
