- Yakuza Kiwami’s platinum is an absolute grind to get 100% completion. But I already knew that going into this, as I’ve now platinum’d the game twice. After beating it for my second time though, it made me wonder… How does the remake compare to the original Yakuza?
The original Yakuza actually doesn’t have a platinum since trophies didn’t exist until the PS3, so in this video I’ll be getting the platinum for both Yakuza Kiwami and the HD remaster on the PS3. The remaster is in Japanese only, which means I also had to play the English dubbed version on the PS2, bringing the grand total of times I’ve beaten this game beginning to end to 6.

@@gioisnotreal as someone who's done all the 120 yakuza 2 substories most of them end fairly quick while a couple just taking time, though there's the 12 cabaret club substories and 4 optional minigame substories which were the most significant ones but atleast you can use a guide for the cabaret clubs and i was pretty much just skipping text until it was over lol, as for the minigames i pretty much just used a shogi trainer software to go through the 2 there are and cheated my way with save states in mahjong lmao however PACHINKO was HELL i don't wanna ever do that again it took me 4 hours

@@gioisnotreal i know lmao, though i think i did it before knowing it was an optional substory but still, knowing the yakuza 1 hd achievements it might mean you have to do it along with full minigame completion which means pachinko would take like 10 hours
Getting Yakuza platinums is one of my favorite pass times, but I will never try for them in Japanese releases... well done!

Nice to see Yakuza 1 getting played. Most seem to ignore it in favour of kiwami.
I always like going back to the first game in a series to see how far it has come since the beginning. It was cool seeing how much content Yakuza 1 still has when comparing it to newer titles, and I really loved the atmosphere of the original on the PS2. Of course, the English dub is also a masterpiece.

I was legit waiting for someone to platinum the hd yakuza 1! I have done almost every yakuza game except 8 (waiting for the dlc) and the judgments games (just started judgment)

I tried to do this in OG yakuza 1 and i'm still haunted by the missable Haruka-required substories... after doing a 100% completion chapter by chapter up to that point of all mini-games, haruka requests etc, then realising every save i had was after something missable... that's some heartbreak

Yes, I used the 龍が如く Trophy Guide (Top choice in Stage 1) on PSNProfiles for all the side content in the game. There's also a link to a very in-depth guide towards the bottom of the same page called 'PS2 Guide'
So are you going to do the same with the remastered and og versions of yakuza 3-5? From what I’ve heard there is some differences between the trophies in og and remastered versions (I think the remasters remove some) but I don’t think the trophies lost are good enough excuses to platinum to og and remastered versions
I'm surprised you're the first to ask, but I actually already did the remaster versions of 3 and 4. For those games, I'll be doing the PS3 versions and going over any of the trophies that are missing. For Yakuza 5, I've done most of the story trophies in the remastered version, so I plan on doing those trophies again on the PS3 and then finishing the platinum on the remastered version. I'll finish up the PS3 version on my own later on, but as you said, the trophies and games don't have enough differences to make a video with both of them.

While I do still think it's a good game, it's my least favorite out of all the games I've played so far. I actually loved seeing a different side of Kiryu at the orphanage (even though it made speedrunning extra hard mode a drag), but the combat is the worst and unpopular opinion, but I wasn't a big fan of Mine. Still a solid 7/10, and I would love a Kiwami version of it.
When I played the first time I managed to complete all substories in my first play through and non of them got locked and I didn’t have to use premium Adventure I played it on ps4 first than on ps5

nah, but on a more serious note: do you plan on giving the kurohyou games a try too? I'm aware content with the hostesses hasn't been entirely translated as of now, but unofficial english translations have released for both 1 and 2 by Team K4L and I think it'd be cool to see someone 100% them (speaking as someone who completed 1's story mode, currently playing through 2)
I thought about adding Fist of the North Star, but I wasn't sure if it was actually a spinoff or just made by RGG with similar gameplay. Either way, I already own it and plan on getting the platinum for it.
Now, regarding the Kurohyou games, I actually already have the English patched versions installed and ready to play. I honestly just didn't think anyone would care to see those games for a video, but your comment makes me want to do it even more now!
@@ZoroNoZolo Ah, the Lost Paradise comment was a bit of a joke, but it is a Yakuza spinoff. There are a tiny amount of characters from the Yakuza franchise that appear in the game (which ones I will not reveal), but it's a mix of both original content exclusive to the game and reused content from the franchise, so I would consider it a spinoff. Good luck on getting the platinum as well; just know that there are a few things that will be a nightmare (primarily one, very specific, very evil substory).
As for the Kurohyou games, they're both very fun titles and whilst I haven't completed them fully yet, I do recommend them to anyone who has interest in them. The first game has a banger ost, probably one of the best the franchise has to offer (my second favourite ost, only beaten by OG Yakzua 2). Only thing I will mention beforehand however is that it's a fair bit harder than the rest of the franchises offering (I played on Hard difficulty for both titles and there are times where it gets very difficult, especially 2).
I really appreciate you not spoiling anything for Lost Paradise, but I've heard it's superrrr grindy, so I'm guessing that's the substory you're referring to.
I also came across some of the songs from Kurohyou while looking for background music for this video. "Certain Billionaire" is an absolute banger.
@@ZoroNoZolominor warning though, the final boss (and main theme) of Kurohyou, MUPPET is a real song by a real band (RIZE), and it will get content matched. But yeah, I would absolutely love a Kurohyou video, I recently finished the game and I really loved it.

It means getting all trophies/achievements in a game. Sometimes there are grindy trophies like 100% completion in a game, and sometimes there are trophies that are difficulty related. Yakuza games tend to be on the more grindy side for the platinum, but I plan to do other games that have hard challenges involved as well.
