Hi Lucas. Finally MAX is back at Europe safer and trustworthy I hope. How high did you go in this short route?MAX is a powerful and also so silent jet.It was Boeing's fault that this plane had such a bad reputation. They should had been more supportive to the pilots and the airlines and more honest with the product. All these people died so unexpectedely.AnywayI can't wait for more flights with these great planes in the future with the pandemic slowing down.Cheers
thanks for this tripreport! I‘m still hesitant to fly on the 737MAX, and I will definitively book alternative options if available, at least for this year. American Airlines had a technical issue with one of them recently, and even though I do think they are probably safe, I just wouldn’t feel comfortable on the plane during the flight. I am a person who loves flying and I want to fully enjoy a flight (especially knowing how many hundreds of people were killed by technical issues of this specific plane). Also even though I’m sure they made a good job in the last years to make the plane safe, the structural flaw still remains: the engines are too far in the front (because of the limited space under the wings), which results in the MCAS being necessary, and that’s not ideal.
The issue that American Airlines had recently with the MAX was a controlled engine shut-down by the pilots because the oil pressure was close to one of the limits. The engines (CFM Leap) are basically the same as the A320neo, so consider not flying also on the Neos with CFM engines. The MCAS has now 4 additional safety layers; it can not command enough force that the pilots can't counteract, and it can be disconnected manually in several ways. It's impossible that it happens again. That being said, the MCAS was never the problem in those crashes. The problem was a couple of sensors that were giving false info to the MCAS, which was acting correctly if that info would be true. The MCAS system never failed, but was being fed with incorrect info. That has been corrected as well. And even if it would be fed with the same wrong info, the MCAS would automatically disconnect till the end of the flight. The MCAS is just an evolution of a system that almost every airplane in the world has.
American Airlines also had an engine shutdown on an A321 just two days after the engine shutdown on the 737 MAX. The problem is that the media highlight the max issues whenever they can, but if we forget about them and just look at what happened, then American had two engine shutdowns within a couple days, one was on the 737 MAX and one on an A321, neither plane would appear more dangerous or unreliable.
Carlo, where did you read that? The MAX is perfectly safe. Please don't believe the media that don't have any clue about aviation and the only thing that want are to get some clicks on their websites... Do you really think that any aviation authority in the world would let the MAX fly if it wouldn't be 100% safe?
I've read and watched everything I've found since the Lion Air crash. The two crashes were horrific but it is the horror stories from within Boeing that prevent sensible people from not using the MAX. It is a bodge. Just money engineering. I hesitate to even use the word "engineering".
Hi Lucas. It's a pity the Max had to have those accidents for it to become safe . All a bit late. And passengers flying on it , for now anyway, in my opinion , will feel a bit nervous. I would anyway . But so sad to see Spainish airports so quiet. Amazing to that every airport that you fly in and out of always has a few Ryanair planes on the tarmac. They are everywhere. Great shots and great review...cheers, g..
Hi mate! Thanks a lot! Glad that you've enjoyed this Trip Report on the MAX! :)) The MAX software has been redesigned to add several safety layers which make the issue impossible to happen again. Even if it would happen, the pilots can disconnect the system in several ways (one of them by just moving 1 button). Have a nice weekend :)
It's a nice plane indeed, but in the US a B737 Max had problems with one of their engines. The pilots landed the plane safely after shutting the engine down. I think it is a very safe plane, but it is a little bit crazy... Anyways great video
An engine shut down is something "normal". I mean, it happens probably every month in some plane on the world. Airplanes fly perfectly with one engine. In fact, I bet that 80-90% of the passengers wouldn't even realise if an engine is shut-down inflight (if there are not vibrations or noise). Did you know that the MAX CFM Leap engines are basically the same as the NEO CFM Leap engines? The engines were not the issue of the MAX. ;)
@@OnBoardHD I absolutely agree with you there mate. What I wanted to say, that the Max has the bad image... So everytime something happens the peaple will think: this plane is unsafe or I will never fly the max....It is not very helpful and the trust will decrease. But I have to admit the engine is absolutely beautiful 😁
Absolutely, but that's always the same with the media. It's what sells news... You can be sure that they will continue to do this for years. Even when the MAX will have millions of hours... they will continue to make big news from little failures (as if it wouldn't happen to all the other planes in the world...).
It's a shame you can't just buy a ticket to fly from Alicante to Málaga, you can only use this service if you're flying to or from Brussels. I wanted to do that and even enquired with their customer service and they said you can't do it. In the end I took the bus lol.
Dios bendiga siempre tus viajes. Abrazos.
Thanks, Zerberus :) I'll try to be on the inaugural flight... I don't have any clue when/where they'll be. What it's for sure is that I will record some flights on the RYR MAX as soon as possible :)
Wow! Yo vivo en Málaga! No te dejas sin una ciudad! Gracias.
Thanks, Yoni! Glad that you've enjoyed this Trip Report! It was an amazing experience with TUI-Be and I'm already looking forward to fly with them again! :))
@@OnBoardHD i love airplanes Airports and everything what goes With it But the very big Problem With me is That im afraid of flying and yes i know there is no sence HAHAHAHA But yeah
Muchas gracias, Simo!
Saludos :)
Lovely video as always ! I am wondering, what is your opinion of TUI in comparison to, say, Ryanair ? Since they fly similar routes in/from Spain ... and you seem to like Ryanair a lot!
Thanks a lot! TUI and Ryanair are completely different airlines: TUI is holiday / touroperator airline; while Ryanair is low-cost that offers a completely different service. In any case, I never choose between airlines 😉✈
@@OnBoardHD Interesting! I only asked because you could very well have taken Ryanair instead! Although I prefer TUI, I don't say no if I have the opportunity to fly with any airline! Keep up the good work my friend :)
@@OnBoardHD but that's exactly what I love about your channel - the variety of different airlines you have flown! And also, I use your videos to improve my Spanish :)
Brilliant aircraft and engines ;-) But did you feel a bit nervous when you were taking off mate ? Great to see some tourists going on holiday, hopefully 2021 will be better than 2020 and we see lots of TUI aircraft all over europe flying once again ;-)
Thanks a lot, Brum! Glad that you've enjoyed this first Trip Report on the MAX! :)) No nervous at all. I've studied already the MAX and I know all the safety layers that have been implemented :) Looking forward to flying Jet2 ant TUI UK in the second half of 2021! :))
The cabin does look so clean and fresh! I also like how on the safety cards they just have it as 737 - 8. I wonder if they were originally mentioning MAX before the horrendous accidents?
It is! Haha All new-gen engines are extremely quiet! The same happens with the NEO, but also the new E2 and A220 are super-quiet. Glad that you've enjoyed the video :)
Of course, that problem has been solved. All aviation authorities in the world have independently approved the airplane. Is that not enough for you? I'm looking forward to fly again on the MAX!
@@OnBoardHD Well, yes...I hope so. We al make mistakes, but some mistakes can cost the life of people, and that's why it was so important for Boeing to do it right this time...and for the FAA to also do their job properly. Thanks for sharing your trip experiences. I watched your trip report Tenerife to Gran Canaria (Binter) with great interest. We use planes almost like the metro here in the Canaries. Saludos.
Interesting to hear the pilot address the aircraft as simply a '737'....also the safety cards state 737-8....a little bit misleading if you ask me and people should really be given the full information of the aircraft they are flying on. Would I fly on a MAX? I think im going to wait a little while....see how it pans out, im not totally convinced that it is safe.
Muchas gracias, Diego.
Only Boeing did not guess with the capacity of large models. Airbus A321neo is more popular. But in general, the MAX series is quite successful for me)
I‘m still hesitant to fly on the 737MAX, and I will definitively book alternative options if available, at least for this year.
Fantastic flight
Thanks mate 😎✈
Personally i won’t fly the max version. Some documentaries are still staying it is not safe
OnBoardHD i agree with you. I saw the doc like one month ago, I’ll try to find it and add the link in this comment section
Ok, waiting for it 👍

I've read and watched everything I've found since the Lion Air crash. The two crashes were horrific but it is the horror stories from within Boeing that prevent sensible people from not using the MAX. It is a bodge. Just money engineering. I hesitate to even use the word "engineering".
Nice video m8, thanks!
Thanks a lot, mate!
Glad that you've enjoyed this trip report :)
No problem with the Max. Just another new generation aircraft. I am looking forward to flying in the A350 though.Mick🇬🇧

It was a great experience to fly on the MAX for the first time. I'm looking forward to flying on it again! :)
Nice to see MAX working 😉 I am looking forward to fly with it...
Thanks! Glad that you've enjoyed it! 😎✈
The MAX software has been redesigned to add several safety layers which make the issue impossible to happen again. Even if it would happen, the pilots can disconnect the system in several ways (one of them by just moving 1 button).
Have a nice weekend :)
Glad to see the Max back in the skies again, hope to fly on one for myself, getting pretty bored of the negative news this plane is amazing.
Yeah! The MAX will be conquering the skyes soon again!
I think we might get some kind of normlality during this summer! Let's hope for the best! :))
Buen video.

Delayed engine start on #1 until taxiing out...these guys do it right!
That's the normal procedure on the MAX :)
@@OnBoardHD excellent! Those LEAPs look and sound magnificent!
Such a cool video! Lets just appreciate the hard work!
Thanks a lot, mate!
Have a nice week :)

It looks great.😊 I think I would have confidence to fly on the max.
Thanks a lot, Don!
I'm looking forward to fly again on it! :))
It's a shame you can't just buy a ticket to fly from Alicante to Málaga, you can only use this service if you're flying to or from Brussels. I wanted to do that and even enquired with their customer service and they said you can't do it. In the end I took the bus lol.
What a flight😊

It will, mate, ir will! :))
Another great video matey. The plane appears to be very stable when travelling over ground.
Thanks a lot, Paul :)
The landing gear has been updated and now it's longer, so the plane shakes less when taxiing.

The UK may be doing it right in regards to out of lockdown but the rest of Europe doesnt look good yet
Jajaja Pues a ver cuando empieza a operar comercialmente! :D

I would Never Fly With the 737 Max

Lovely video as always ! I am wondering, what is your opinion of TUI in comparison to, say, Ryanair ? Since they fly similar routes in/from Spain ... and you seem to like Ryanair a lot!
Thanks a lot!
TUI and Ryanair are completely different airlines: TUI is holiday / touroperator airline; while Ryanair is low-cost that offers a completely different service.
In any case, I never choose between airlines 😉✈

Brilliant aircraft and engines ;-) But did you feel a bit nervous when you were taking off mate ? Great to see some tourists going on holiday, hopefully 2021 will be better than 2020 and we see lots of TUI aircraft all over europe flying once again ;-)
Thanks a lot, Brum! Glad that you've enjoyed this first Trip Report on the MAX! :))
No nervous at all. I've studied already the MAX and I know all the safety layers that have been implemented :)
Looking forward to flying Jet2 ant TUI UK in the second half of 2021! :))
The cabin does look so clean and fresh! I also like how on the safety cards they just have it as 737 - 8. I wonder if they were originally mentioning MAX before the horrendous accidents?
I really don't know how the safety cards were before them. In any case, the name was B737-8 MAX, so probably the "MAX" word wasn't there already.
The information from the flightdeck was not in Deutch (German) but Dutch. Clearly this was a Belgium pilot. My Dutch ears heard a Flanders accent ;-)
I know. It was my mistake when editing/writing.
I can differenciate between deutch and dutch, despite I can't speak nor understand any of them hehe
Gosh the MAX seems so much quieter than other 737 Aircraft
It is! Haha All new-gen engines are extremely quiet!
The same happens with the NEO, but also the new E2 and A220 are super-quiet.
Glad that you've enjoyed the video :)
I trully hope that the MCAS terror is definitely over with this plane 🤞
Of course, that problem has been solved.
All aviation authorities in the world have independently approved the airplane. Is that not enough for you?
I'm looking forward to fly again on the MAX!
@@OnBoardHD Well, yes...I hope so. We al make mistakes, but some mistakes can cost the life of people, and that's why it was so important for Boeing to do it right this time...and for the FAA to also do their job properly.

Every passenger received an email 3-4 days before the flight informing that the plane would be the B737 MAX.
@@OnBoardHD that maybe so but why hide the fact onboard the aircraft if its supposed to be safe?
@@RSTurbo50 Because fear is irrational; even more in this case, that has been increased by the media just to get a few cents more.
