Take the bold print blouse, pair it with slim cut capris and a stiletto around 2.5”, belt the blouse and add a duster or trench/blazer. Humans are wired to enjoy looking at beautiful things, just like we love hearing good music, smelling good smells, and tasting good foods. We love to treat our senses. Personally, I love to see beautiful hair. I've always worn clothing that doesn't attract attention, but as I get older, I almost feel like I'm taking without giving, as I enjoy all the beauty around me. I've gradually started to wear clothing I would like to see on people (I say "gradually, because I have to acclimate to the feeling of people looking at me). It's kind of cool to feel like I'm contributing to the beauty I see when I'm in public. It's like being a stroke of the brush in the artwork of humanity. I fold up the sleeves a couple of times for style and comfort. It feels sooo good and looks chic.

I got on the examination room scale one January and started the cinnamon tea. My goal had nothing to do with weight loss.
However, since my buttons started buttoning better, I got back on the same scale in April. I had dropped 30 pounds while hardly noticing.
My internist freaked out. My blood sugar was back to fine.
My internet says 1 pound of weight loss a week is safer.
I stopped taking Rx and now control lab values with herbal teas -- for 8 years. Teas have all kinds of trace vitamins and trace minerals.
Belly fat is usually insulin resistance. It took me 5 years to wean myself off flour and starchy vegetables. Those are just like eating candy bars. Eating any kind of yogurt goes straight to belly fat, but Greek yogurt is my ice cream & cheese cake substitute.
If you continue eating what you are eating, that fat is going to spread. Your arms and legs for now are using up calories. You don't vary trunk movements much, so those cells hold as much as they can. Then the sugar saturated blood and urine. Gums start bleeding out sugar the body can't hold.

If you want to be viewed as beautiful by others, then go for it, but it is not a necessity and shouldn't be pushed on others. I don't want to be beautiful for others. I want to be beautiful to me and me only, and I don't care what others want. No one else lives in my skin 24/7, so why should I care if others like what they see? If you want to disguise vanity as being charitable, that's fine. No one should feel less than just because they don't want to partake.

  • @over60-notdead98

I agree with Capri pants. 🤮
    Here are some possible fixes.
    - Capri paints. Buy a men's linen style beach joggers that chinch at the waist. (Go for a fun pattern - octopus, Japanese inspired, cat/dog, etc.) Shorten as needed. Finish the bottom with a hem or pull the threads for a chic, BoHo look.
    - "Shapeless dresses." Grab a oversized scarf that compliments the dress. Fold it in half or thirds. Leaving one side of the scarf longer, place a safety pin inside the dress and pin the scarf to the outside lower center of the back of the dress. (This keeps it from shifting.) Bring the ends around and tie a lose knott over one leg and not the center of the dress. This creates a loose, defined waist in the dress and sweeping it to the side doesn't cut you in half. Eyes always follow asemitrical lines.
    3. Fix for "loud prints." The main issue is it doesn't give the eye a place to rest.
    - Use a narrow (not wide!) loosely cinched belt with no loud detail. The print is already loud. This creates a waist and gives the eye a place to rest when viewing.

I'm in Australia and it gets stinking hot - too hot for long pants and I'm sure a lot of the older ladies don't want to be flashing their older legs with varicose veins or whatever in shorts , which I'm sure people would also call 'unflattering'.
So they wear what they feel comfortable in and don't care what anyone thinks.

I will never give up on my plethora of shapeless dresses. They are much too comfortable, practical, wonderful and easy to style to ever care about people not being aware that I'm not a legit heavy older adult. The carefree feeling their ease to wear bring to my life and soul make me look back at my old self and wonder why I ever gave a damn. 😂

Try getting a cute bodysuit and flare pants! Fashion nova got cute bodysuits and Shein got nice flare pants. You can also try skater skirts and cute mesh tops (with some plain color bodysuit since mesh is see through) You can look sexy or cute depending on the color of the top and bottoms. These combos never fail since you don't need fashion sense, just get the colors you like.

No matter how fat you are, you're still an hourglass figure and will still tend to have that waistline. I have the same body type and found dresses with waistlines like skater dresses (for casual comfort) and dresses/shirts with darts to be extremely flattering.

At least you still have an hourglass figure with a waist. I'm all apple and any weight goes directly to my waist and upper arms. At least with hourglass, the figure is good. 👍 Plenty of songs out there about thicc thighs/booty and fat bottom girls. You'll never hear a ballad about a girls round tummy. 😳

I would have to say some of these matter more about body type and personal preference. An example of this would be referring to Kibbe body types, the different “fruit types” or Color Me Beautiful palettes. Like I cinch my waist, true, because I have a very rectangular, athletic frame, but shapeless clothing might look better on other body types.

The one thing you must absolutely wear - CONFIDENCE. It's a good 70% of what makes something look good. I have taken a shapeless tshirt dress and accessorized it with a few bits of this and that, and it turned into the perfect party dress because I was comfortable and therefore confident and happy. And when you're secure, your clothes look great even when they're weird. :-)
