Back in '98/99 I was working for an EC/EU agency supporting post-war returns to Croatia.
One of our cases was a lovely, very elderly blind woman who.lovwd alone on a tiny cottage on the middle of nowhere, in what were then acres and acres of snow and frozen water.
She spoke fondly of a teenage grandson who was a youth player at Red Star.

Whenever he played, there is always this sense of security and calm he brings not just to the players alone but to the fans too. We really felt safe when he's commanding the defence. A true captain and a leader on and off the pitch. Farewell Vida, its been a pleasure watching u as our captain.
