Roger ending his career playing doubles with Rafa is the most poetic ending of all time. Never again will we see a rivalry which is so competitive, yet so respectful and wholesome. I would have liked to see Roger play doubles with Novak too, but I guess it would be a bit much idk. But wow man. What an unbelievable era of tennis. Emotions, euphoria, rivalry, sportsmanship, it had everything. Emotions are gonna be soaring tomorrow.
There's nothing poetic in Federer's retirement. He will retire with a 0-6 for his last match, not even being able to retire in his own terms.
I would have pictured Nadal being so injured to retire like this, not Federer.
@@masters.1000 Federer is 5 or 6 years older lol
True.
@@masters.1000 it's fine, federer was injured.
@@unowen7591 Wimby final doesn't hurt, it was an expected win. Roger wasn't having a good year, and he fought for his life in the 4th set. Wimby 2019 hurt more. He won more points than Novak, and had like plenty of match points. And it was the 1st ever 5th set tiebreak. We're about 60% sure that Roger would win had the rule not been implemented, because he was holding MUCH better than Novak. Winning points in Novak's service games was how he won more points but lost the match. And as his last GS final, on his best slam, yeah I think '08 got nothing on '19
Rafa does not get enough credit for his racket skill. His volleys are amazing, reflexes are super sharp, his precision is as good as his power (hence the passing shots), and he has amazing court awareness. He just dominates in doubles because of how well he understands the game and adapts. Plus going to net against Rafa is a death sentence.
Because he is not as White as Roger or even Novak, that is why tennis fans and the media don't praise Rafael enough for his elegance and finesse on the court.
@@markuse3472 lol. I never see media hype Novak. They always diss Novak and hype Fedal
Do you think is a skin color matter? I’m Spanish and never thought about this because we aren’t as racist as the anglosphere.
I don't think Roger gets enough credit for his Doubles performances. In my opinion Roger is a far better Doubles player than Rafael.
i find it great that nadal and novak are more loyal to federer and plays the laver cup instead to the atp and davis cup. THE BIG THREE are bigger then tennis
Yes,i don't think they would have played laver Cup if not for fed
This match will be remembered as most memorable of all time. More so the audience will never ever be delighted again with such a classic tennis match. Roger Federer will be immortalized for his classic style of playing tennis🎾.
The end of a glorious era.. Roger and Rafa.. brother love.
Rafa is insane
Yeah especially the first one
Nadal Djokovic Toronto 2010 doubles
I think that we'll never get such phenomenon like big three in future, this period was unique
Agreed, at least not in our lifetime , I'm gonna miss Roger

Hey ATP, I think you forgot Nadal/Moya vs Federer/Wawrinka at Rome 2007, that was amazing too!
I swear they wanna act like that match never existed considering how much it's omitted
Federer/Nadal vs Murray/Djokovic in doubles
Wish there was some footage here from Nadal and Federer’s doubles match at Rome 2007.
They played together in 2007? 🤔🤔
@@akshaymeena8577 Against each other. It was Federer and Wawrinka vs Nadal and Moya. A great matchup on clay.
@@theaviator1152 nadal/moya on clay. it's a deadly duo.
All four are so good as singles, that they would make great doubles players. Especially Rafa, when he plays doubles, he almost always wins.
The Roger and Rafa doubles will be so sad and amazing to watch, at the same time 😭
Please post the full match of Djokovic/Troicki va Mahut/Roger Vasselin ATP Cup 2020 Round Robin 2, it was one of the craziest doubles matches ever!
I have just witnessed the best doubles point I have ever seen. I’ll be watching it at least twice every day before I die. Wow Wow Woweeeeee😮😮😮😮😮👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Murray may be behind by a large margin, but let's not forget he was the one whom had the pressure of an home Grand Slam.
And what are the chances, that in your short career, the Olympics comes to your home town - at Wimbledon - and you rise to take the occasion. Simply magnificent. Then you defend it in Rio. Murray didn't achieve the same Grand Slams as the great 3, but for a Scotsman he did amazing. We don't play tennis in Scotland remember. Murray is a legend to us Scots.
Also, Murray would never wish to play in a different era than Fed, Nadal, Djokovic. He didn't win as much because of them, but he competed, from a country that doesn't play tennis. He won Wimbledon - for Scotland. The man is a legend.
All those who hate on Murray, please understand the fight he had to go through. He fought against the greatest sportsmen of all time. Sometimes won the greatest accolades and hurt his body in the long run.
Andy Murray was a warrior of the sport.
Federer, Nadal, Djokovic - we get it - but let's also appreciate Andy Murray - a fighter! A Warrior?
One of the greatest fighters in tennis ever. He had to fight against the greatest 3 players of all time.
Bristish joke... please... respect the reality.... thast joke is only possible because he is british.
The names of these legends are etched in our memories.
The new set of players will have a herculant task to match up to the tennis records of these professionals.
Federer Nadal and Djokovic were in a class of their own ... today's youngsters have a long way to go to match those Master Three
I am pretty sure about the big-3, not so sure about Murray though…he can be matched and outmatched quite easily actually…3 slams isn’t that much of a tall order by any imagination…unless we are talking about other 8 occasions, in which Murray ended up as a runner-up…
Federer and wawrinka should not retire and focus on doubles, they are the best and i think they can compete with any doubles team rn.
Not that good…actually the chemistry between Nadal and Marc Lopez proved to be more efficient…
Curious what everyone would rank the 4 when it comes to doubles, best to last? Perceived skills, projection if they played more, win percentage, titles, have at it. Could be an interesting discussion.
10:04 is a Roger-only shot. Maestro-level stuff.
At the end, you left out the greatest doubles point ever by Dolgopolov and the X-man against Fed and Wawrinka
With all RESPECT to Andy and his accomplishments , there is no such things as "the big 4", there are Only 3 legends in this video, the last 18 years and even may be in the history of tennis.
Yes, Andy did manage to reach world No. 1 in he presence of these monsters, but if you Look at the number of grand slams, you can see there is not even a talk
Shut up. He is still a legend who deserves respect. Doesn't need idiots like you reminding everyone he didn't win 20 majors.
Shut up andy is cool and have a decent career decent amount of gs finals within a short period of time , the big 4 was a real thing at his peak he just couldn't maintain it for so long unfortunately
Can’t wait so bloody excited for the weekend goodbye my goat, Rodger Federer ❤🇨🇭
0:47 that dodge by murray
5:44 when fognini plays doubles hahahahah
Adding Murray to the Big 3 is so British… ;-)
Great game play
Big 4... 😂😂😂😂😂 Always makes me laugh when they manage to sneak murray into the BIG category.
There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more
The big three and a journeyman.
oh i didnt know murray and nole once teamed up!! impenetrable defence i’d assume
Big 4. 😂
Murray sitting in that group like 🤡
Stop talking about the Big 4. Murray doesn't come close to the achievements of the other 3. It's the Big 3, nothing more or less.
Would have been great to see the big 3 play doubles in grand slams as well. I understand why they didn't but it would have made for some memorable games. I think McEnroe was the last top player to play both singles and doubles in the slams. The new generation of young stars also play a little doubles as they did in junior tournaments so it would be great if they continued the tradition.
Didnt know double was so entertaining, cheers!
There is more Lopez in this than the other legends 😆
This should have included Hingis/Federer playing as a mixed doubles team!
🇪🇸1) Nadal: The King.
🇨🇭2) Federer: The Godfather.
👑3) FEDAL: The Legendary.
4) Novak having better H2H to both. Show some respect kid.
Rare points from ultra rare players 😌
around 5:40 im happy to see even ATP recognize that Fognini belong to the big 4 ,just to lazy to win a slam
😆
What’s the name of this commentator at 10:53? Love the sound of his voice.🙏 esp his reaction, 37? For Roger.
Impressed with Andy’s shots, but Roger’s 10:08 takes the cake!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻10:24 reaction the most cute!

From when did Murray become part of "big" ? Guess i should include my name too and say big 5
hahahaa exactly.... me for the 6th.... please ... stop this british joke
I am pretty sure there's ton of anime flashback going on in these rally.
Very weird to see Roger play an official match without his headband on
67 grand slam titles in one court
Nadal-22
Djokovic-21
Federer-20
Murray-4
Murray - 3 not 4…
I love Federal, Bangladesh.
🇪🇸 GOATdal (Nadal) & 🇨🇭GOATderer (Federer) golden era of tennis & legend forever!!! Cheers!!! 👑💪🐐
There is novak too (im a federer fan)
Nadal is by far the best doubles player of the 4.
You're joking. Federer beat the Bryans.
Roger is
IS ROGER...OK
Stats-wise and win percentage-wise, with the most titles (and most masters of the 4), with a slam semi and gold in doubles. It's clearly Rafa.
Fedex also has olympoc gold in doubles
1:28 Super gorgeous!!!!
1:17 You 😅
2:25 nadals partner doesn’t know where to stand in doubles
If the top single players would fully concentrate on doubles, they would lead there as well. All top single players were good double players: McEnroe, Lendl, Sampras, Edberg, Becker, Federer….Always in history, especially in Daviscup the „world class double pairs“ lost against the top single player doubles. Becker/Stich has beaten Elthing/Haarhuis, won Goldmedal etc.
When Djokovic plays doubles it appears are playing singles but in a bigger court!
Always wondered why 3 slam winner Andy is in Big 4, while Stan is out
END OF THE ERA.
10:05 can someone explain to me what just happened there?
Fed framed the ball and it got a wicked backspin
There is no big four. It's three.
After big 4, we should expect a perfect match up like Medvedev+ Tsitispas vs Kygrios+ Ruud
LMAO
They’re garbage
Always a big 3.
It's funny because Murray is genuinely the best doubles player here
Never heard big 4 , always big 3, with 20 grandslam and more
1st really ...💖nadal💖...🔥
Doubles really is a different skillset!! The top players have individual game... are of course ultimately better than the best doubles players but the way the game is played doesn't suit top singles players.
There never was a big 4, only ever a big 3. The former a british media myth. Stan also won 3 slams.
When the Big 4 play ATP matches* you mean
Its not been the big 4 for about 10 years. Murray is way behind the other 3
Big 3 + 1 Dude play doubles 🤣🤣🤣
Lop/Lop/ Eva/Mur .??? -> Petition to write player names in full. A few extra letters go a long way.

For real nothing against Murray, but can we remember, Tennis TV, that Federer's retirement is the end of the BIG THREE era. Honestly, not to sound like all these other tards posting and complaining about this, but I can feel myself getting annoyed as the days go on. Federer's retirement is not about ensuring Murray is aligned with the other three, and Murray being present really does not mean that Big 4 narrative needs rebirthing. Federer is the reason the Big 3 even exists in the first place, and his departure is both the end of his own incredible career and the end of a unique, captivating trivalry that, as much as it has stifled other narratives in the game for the last ten years, in reality, we never wanted it to end.
Big 3 always.
Thanks.
Can we stop looping Murray in as the big 4 its the big 3 that's it. Murray has three grandslams everyone else has 20+. If Murray is in with the big 3 Wawrinka should be there too with his 3 grandslams.
Murray consistently made deep runs in the GS between 2008-16. The guy has played 11 GS finals to Stans 4. The reason they’re called Big 4 because they featured in the last 4 of the many GS between 2008-16.
Murray has 46 titles with 14 masters titles, Wawrinka 16 with 1 masters title. Andy was a number 1, too. It's not all about grand slams
Frankly speaking, Andy Murray shouldn't be included in the big 4. He only won 3 grand slams. In this case, Stan Wawrinka also won 3 grand slams. Anyone who wins less than 10 grand slams shouldn't be considered as the big 4.
Big 4?
Murray doesn't even come close to the others!
Eso del big 4 es el sueño de los británicos. Lo cierto es que sólo hubo un big 3. No jodan.
Big 4 🤔
フェデラーお疲れ様でした
Nadal: 22, Djokovic: 21, Federer: 20. Murray 3:, Wawrinka: 3. I don't get the Big Four thing.
Murray was far more consistent over his career than Stan was. 46 ATP titles to Stan's 16.
@@Mikacool not the point...
Courier, Vilas - 4
Edberg, Becker - 6
Wilander, McEnroe - 7
Agassi, Connors, Lendl - 8
Bjorn Borg - 11
Pete Sampras - 14
These are the people, who won more than Murray or Wawrinka and less than Federer! LOL
Additionally Arthur Ashe, Gustavo Kuerten and Jan Kodes also won 3 slams each! LMAO
...And if you count those, who started winning before open era that list includes three great australians - Ken Rosewall, Rod Laver and John Newcombe, all of whom has won more in open era than Murray! LOL
@@Summon256 Andy Murray is Big 4 for HIS era not over all eras. And the narrative is if you actively try to diminish what Andy Murray has achieved having competed in the hardest era against all 3 of the GOATS then you have an irrational phobia.

Wish Novak played more doubles in his career.
Thank God he didn’t! We all have solid examples of what happens when he distracts himself with unnecessary doubles tennis! The one most obvious, that cost him olympic gold most recently…
I won’t mind him switching to doubles career almost entirely once he wins 25 slams and holds that record forever with Nadal not playing anymore to break that record! Lol But before that - screw doubles! I want him to focus on singles for as long as he wins 104 titles (25 of which are slams), better yet - 110 titles and he clears the 400 weeks as world number one milestone, with or without 8th year finish as world number one! Once he does all that he can play doubles as much as he wants! Haha
@@Summon256 I agree, but I think that Olympics doubles was different circumstances because he was chasing crazy record of winning golden slam.
@@rgncajun21 My point exactly, duh?! It would have made that chase easier (at least physically!) if he only played in singles...playing the tournaments back-to-back like he was doing during that period was already taxing enough on his body, there were no need adding unnecessary doubles matches on top of that...
...He lost to Zverev exactly physically, not psychologically! The psychological loss happened later in USO final against Medvedev, but against Zverev - that one was purely physical issue! When he had a solid lead in the 2nd set - he suddenly collapsed physically and could never keep up until the rest of the match...many say and i agree with that assumption - is that playing additional doubles matches was the main reason of that loss...he had solid grip on that match until the cursed mid section of that 2nd set!...
@@Summon256 I’m saying it would’ve been different if he played doubles in past years because last years circumstances was one of a kind

I remember watching a doubles match in Montreal where Nadal played with Ferrer. Nadal and Ferrer got destroyed, doubles is truly a tactical game and you have to have such a tremendous feel for your partner. The rallies were quite great but unfortunately Nadal mis hit the ball and it flew right in the ball boy's eye, blinding him.
Way more entertaining than singles actually
