New videos every week!
Best thing i ever bought, had one for 20 years, never let me down, easy to maintain and rides like a wasp on steroids, lol My mom gave it away when i was on holidays, instead of getting mad at her I went to a bar and got drunk. Watching this video brought me back to that time, only thing missing is the lovely smell of two stroke, lol Great video 🙂
I love KDX 200's and ride one now....I'm 73 and all I've ridden for 50 years are open bikes racing desert.. I guess I'm a bit old for a lot of the big bikes now as I have a replaced knee, shoulder, both hands operated on, and more titanium in my back than a race car. That said, I'm surprised that anyone would ride(NOT DRIVE for Pete's sake!!!) a dirt bike without adequate protection. Shorts, tennies, etc....at least a helmet so he can save his brain and know how much he hurts when he goes down.....damn fool. I wish KTM was still making the 200 as I was thinking about buying one and NOBODY that has one is letting it go. Dunno what it is but 200's are very friendly and you can go anywhere with one.....no desert racing but great for plonking. I liked the big Husky and Maicos with 6-speed in the desert.....life starts at about 90 mph out there.
Very cool brother. I'm 66 and use to race AMA motocross. My street bike is a Honda VTX 1300S and my Dual Sportor as we called them enduro is a TW200. I sold my KLX250 which I loved back to the guy I bought it from only because with my 29.5 inch inseem it was a little to tall for me to through my led over. These dual sport bikes sit much higher than my 1973 Honda CR125 or my 1971 Yamaha DT350 back in the day. I took up climbing trees SRT and DRT last summer. Living life to the fullest Tom.
@@Billster1955 Keep the Faith, brother and Keep Riding. When I was young I sort of scoffed at the small bikes and now I have come to the conclusion that they are a heck of a lot easier to get off your leg, body, whatever when you have an attention lapse and screw the pooch and go down. I'd hate to have my Husky 500 or my YZ 465 eat my lunch at my age...they'd probably be putting me in a box and a hole in the ground now. Winter is trying to turn to spring now and it's about time I start getting ready for summer.....I'm 75 y.o. now and I am loving my KDX 200 or my IT 250 better all the time. Maybe this is the year Santa will bring me training wheels. Hang in there, young fella. LOL!
@@tomnekuda3818 Will do Tom. Come on spring!
I might be willing to sell my 90 kdx its a ripper but by far uglier then this
Let me guess it’s gonna sell for 2300 because of the fmf pipe
I had a KDX 200 back in 2000-2001. I think it was a 1991 or 1992 model year. It was my first enduro bike and I learned so fast. Easy to handle, fairly light weight and enough power and torque to get around the technical forest tracks we used to ride. Eventually had to sell it because of going to college, but I will always remember those days with a smile on my face. Maybe I will get back to enduro again some day. Just wondering what a soon to be 50 year old guy would ride today? 🙂
If you are open to 4 strokes, the 450 xcf-w is a fantastic bike. Ktm also makes great 2 strokes as well.
@@evanwhittaker5287 Thanks! I see there is a KTM 350 also.
Any Honda XR is always a good choice too if you’re like 4 strokes, plentiful
Another 200 I just got one for 1800 gives the 250s hell
just buy another KDX200, mate! why not?!
Should keep this bike. Great condition and for the casual rides around the fields/woods, couldn't ask for a better machine.
keep in mind he fuck up every bike he have, he should sell it
too wet is the bike made out of sugar? melt alert?
Philippe van Heek he’s made of sugar
KDX200s and 220s are legendary bikes, I'd keep that one and maybe put a piston kit in it and a new big end bearing just incase. I had an 2009 KTM 200exc and I always regretted getting rid of it as I still maintain it was the most fun I've ever had on a bike of any capacity
That's a awesome bike man! You should do a top speed run some time👍
Kdx 200 have 6 speed transmissions so plz use the 6th........so really enjoy a fast 2stroke now bud.....
@Holden Davis thats fast for a 200 like these
@Holden Davis i guess you don't ride dirt
SSa
W
Sadlg
The kdx200 looks like a kx500 with the pipe and plastics
Look at how tall the engine is lol u ain't fooling me
You do realize its a 6 speed?
punkin71 i was just counting it
To wet for a Dirtbike?
HA GAAAYYYY
I mean he IS wearing short so
@You're Right But ...I can almost feel the sarcasm
@You're Right But Nah its cool. I'm just used to ppl being sarcastic on here so I couldn't tell. Sorry about that bro 👍
He literally explained why he cant go in there, cause hed tear it up
I legit just bought this bike tonight. Don't mean the same year/model. I mean this exact bike.
Nice little ride wish I could ride from my house . Great channel glad I found it !
Buys a “DIRTbike” “na too wet and dirty”
Buys a 2stroke... drives it like a 4stroke
🙈🙈🙈🙈🙄🙄🙄
Karl Hurkett give it gas don’t hold back those things are made to scream
@@slinger1237 not necessarily, this bike is designed for woods and can be lugged down for tight woods.
@@hrcjoet what I’m trying to say is don’t be scared to give it gas
@@karlhurkett4170 if it’s a motocross 2 stroke and your on a track just make it scream in the powerband but if it’s a woods bike you can lug it around like a 4 stroke and will have much more bottom power
It’s more of a woods and trails type of bike . I love my 84’, fast when you need speed but handles well in low gear.
Sick bike
Keep up the great videos
I had the kdx 250 and it was a awesome bike for any kind of riding! I rode it a lot at night since it had a decent headlight!
i’m so happy i have a kdx with the bottom end on it hopefully i’ll be riding it by summer time but i’m so happy about it😁
We enjoy the vids. Keep up the good work.
Hey there buddy, i just wanted to say i really appreciate how honest and respectful you are of your neighbors and to the neighborhood too. You ride carefully and only send it when the conditions are good. And that just goes to show everyone just what sort of young man you are. So good on you for being you Joe. I can't wait to see you have a Kawasaki line up. Starting with a
KX65,KX80,KX125,KDX200,KX,250,KX500 then you will be living the dream Joe, how cool would that video be hey. Awesome!!! Take care mate 😎✊💨✊💨
Had one just like it with an FMF pipe. That thing was FAST and a great ride.
Absolutely love your videos and all the bikes you do reviews on!
I appreciate it!
Previous owner sure took care of it…nice ride 👍🏼
Scored a beauti there. Loved riding those bikes back in the day.
Its idles low because it has blow by, that piston is slapping around in the cylinder. The piston is the softest metal in the motor so it the first to wear out especially when say it’s never ben apart for a rebuild
dooode, that is the most bro science shit i've ever read. Make an absurd claim, then state something every one knows. LMFAO
Errrmmmm that rattle is just the KIPS chattering about. VERY characteristic and NORMAL for this model
That is the kps power valve, not ring rattle, normal for a kdx
That KDX looks funny....it was before they flipped the front shocks. Cool bike....those are hogs!! That's something I would love to take up to Bass Lake here in Cali....mountain trails for days!!!
Neil E.Anlin you can ride at bass lake??
Even the newest models have forks like this, i think they did have modern inverted forks for a couple years in 90s... not sure why they didnt keep them
@@bay015boy Yes Sir....it's about a mile before The Pines turn off. It's on the left hand side and the tracks take you back into the valley but theres another passed bass lake on the right side and that takes u up into more mountainous trails. There's a couple hundred miles of trails at the first but the farther turn off is unknown
@@GeneralNOH yep. 93 and 94 had the usd forks. I have a 93 model. The didn't continue with the usd forks because of cost.
Kawasaki always gives you that big bike feel.
You should take all of your bikes to Hatfield and Mccoy trail system in west VA and give them a proper ride. The trails are endless and awesome with a large variety of conditions. Happy trails.
I had an 88 kdx 200 fmf pipe and ram valve ,sprocket swap. it was a wheelie machine and awesome on trails.
Where are these trails that you're on. I have some vintage hodaka's I would like to get out but don't know where to take them. I'm in Fond du Lac
Mid 80's Yamaha it 200's are great bikes also, I had a couple myself. Parts are getting harder and harder to find though and that's the issue. If you want more power they offer a 465 and a 490 I believe. Check em out if you already haven't .
Jesus christ let the damn bike warm up , it doesnt need to be cleared out I have the same exact bike with the same pipe u dont let any of ur bikes warm up
You know what you should really get next? A Suzuki SP100 I used to have a 1983 model and it was awesome
Krab Borg man I had a 83 sp600 and that damn thing ripped
@@jasonhudson5861 I bet
I had the kdx 125 as a kid. Cool bike.
Best trail bike ever. Out ran Jackson county sheriff (Mi) like a boss.
you should start doing more older enduros
How does one have so many bikes and still be a noob at riding
Parents are loaded and he got a bike whenever he wanted but never rode.
Yeah i mean its not like he buys bikes fixes them up and later sell them
More money than sense
He buys and re sells bikes. He has never claimed he's a great rider he just likes to ride along with probably most of us
Always always wanted one!
KMX was road for dirt, KDX was dirt for road
Could this be your first bike that doesn't need any work, and actually idles properly 👍
Just bought one of these today. 89 kdx 200 for $800 runs great been garage kept for 15 years just needs some cosmetic work done. Came with 2 engines, a set of rims, handlebars extra gas tank, extra swing arm, new chain, new sprocket, a box full of engine parts plus extra kickstand and like 3 extra carbs. Not to mention the guy gave me an entire extra frame with forks, handle bar, wheels/tires, cdi everything but the engine and plastics basically. All for 800 dollars!! God bless Facebook marketplace lmao. So excited to restore this bad boy and make it street legal.
U wanna sell any spare parts?
@@garyhatstat8449 what are ya lookin for?
i cant call you a bad rider for 2 reasons, because i think ur good a riding and you are better than me. great vids, keep them up
thanks
KDX 200 my favorite trail bike of all times.
Good video Joe, what have you done with Chuck?
Nice bike it's worth keeping
Tells us how bad that 500 ran if he thinks this has power
i rode one not too long ago and it is way faster that it looks on camara
He didn't even open the 500 up . it made me sick
The 200 2stroke has alot of torque, comparable to the 500 when it comes to torque
@@anthonytremblay1504 not really. These 200s are ~30HP and 20-25ftlbs. The 500s are ~55hp and 40-50ftlbs. Not even in the same ballpark
@@GeneralNOHthe kdx 200 is 35 hp on average so it is in the same ballpark with the hp
We all just gonna ignore the fact the entire time he was in the grass it sounded like a porno?
Lmaooo.... “it’s so wet.....it’s hitting my leg” hahahahahah
Haha lol I heard its so wet in this spot on god this spots so wet dude I Fucking died
I thought the same thing i thought wtf
Yes
Any videos of you rebuilding a kdx200 motor? I have a 98 and would love to see one… Thanks
Hard to watch ! I would be f ing ripping that thing !
Old bikes got power bands out of this work who remembers the Yamaha 80 with the power band that would almost throw you off the bike I loved it but I'm fairly certain it's why my bike hurts now days lol
Team Green 💚
Cool vid mate 🤙
Definitely one of the best woods bikes. My thumper will destroy it in the desert or hill climbs but ill give u the woods and u could even do some vet track riding with the kdx
I purchased one for my uncle kdx220 and it felt underpowered. Maybe it needed a refresh top end. They do feel heavy somewhat
You're on a dirt bike dude? Come on man
He’s being respectful, doesn’t wanna tear up his neighbors property
That was some deep stuff.
I have a 1988 Honda four wheeler TRX 200 SX need help how hard is it to put in clutch
$325??? The cheapest one in calgary is $1400! That's an insane deal.
I found a kdx220 in Edmonton right now for around 2500 I think. 1400 is a good decal!
longboardguy lol the moped dude not kdx
This bike is very good and a good looker in my opinion wish I could magic it to South Wales 🏴
Sold mine but it could definitely keep up with anything on the trail
This guy has no clue what a 2-stroke powerband feels like. Because he is never in it
Nice video as always;)
Bro how tf does a KDX 200 from 92' look newer than my KMX 125 out of 99' weird what kawasaki did back then but great video.
Umm I’d suggest u drop or raise the needle clip thing to possibly fix that big for first and second because my dad did on his 250r and it instantly fixed it
Lot of piston slap I'm hearing , needs the typical kdx uncorking and fine tuning , love those bike the 220 also ,
I ride ktm now but to me the kdx is the original woods bike
Daniel Hutchinson yeah haha the kdx rips haha
Is the "piston slap" the skipping noise at high rpm?
It sounds like that cuz he's trying to ride it like a 4t and isn't hitting the powerband
Ethan Shroyer How does he hit the powerband
@@Taedoskii the powerband is only on 2 strokes... It's the point where your rpms are up high enough that your about to shift but not too high that you blow it up. This is where the bike will pull the hardest and it's what most 2 stroke riders love the most about the bikes mainly because it provides a quicker snap while clearing the engine out. If you don't know how to hit it watch videos of people racing and listen to the engine... Right before you hear the rider shift it will sound almost like a swarm of bees. Hope it helps and good luck😁
I had a 1990 KDX200 and put 4000 trail miles on it and it was a good bike. Sold it to a forest ranger that did airplane rebuilds on fire planes across the united states
Wow Great bike bro what is your height?
Looks like a great bike what does the seat height measure? I'm only 5'9" and can't through my 66 year old leg over some of the newer dual sport bikes.
I have the same exact bike and I’m 5 foot 9 and I can get on easy. Granted I am young. It is pretty tall though, but it can be lowered all the way to where I can get both feet flat on the ground when I’m on it.
Killer woods bike that you can hit jumps with !
Zion Kurth hahah yea right hitting jumps with a 250 lb bike
@@masoncoopermx3127 loooooool
The big forks on the kdx???? what the F... are you talking about? those regular forks are NOT as hevy as USD forks nor do they have the same suspensionn travel.
Calm down pro racer.
Cracking bike 👌🏻
The KDX 220 was the one to get back then.
You buy so many bikes and just let them sit swear youll ride it once/year😂
What is the sprocket ratio on the kdx
Is that a piston slap or are the crank bearings clapped?
It’s the power valves
That’s how they sound
Justin Remokitis really? Never heard them that loud.
KDX 200. Best trail bike ever!
So if it’s wet and muddy u don’t want to ride ur dirt bike that’s kind of weird
He probably just didn’t want to get all muddy while filming a video, it’s not like he’s going out for a ride for fun.
Damn why y’all shitting on him he’s having a good time and loving life with his new bike. Let him be happy!
Can u idle that thing for 5 min without overheating?
I wish he knew how to ride the bike better but good vid
@kx two-smoke stupid
Yh hes on a dirt bike but he says it's to wet so he cant go there but really hes just a pussy who gets scared when he rides in the mud
You're Right But u must don’t know how to ride a dirt bike either
Have you ever got burned riding with shorts?
Early 2000s they had a kdx220 for 3800 brand new ye.left over nice bike Kawasaki and cheap
Finally one of your bikes runs right.
Cr250 and cr125 vs the kdx200? Race ?
ImPact www.AtomicRedNeck.Com the kdx will pump any of em
Do you still have the KDX?
These bikes were power wheelie monsters
What’s the difference between this bike and a KMX? I own a KMX
Thank you mine is the black and red version👍
You didn’t let it idle for 5 mins to warm up I hope.
i have a kdx 200 too fully rebuilt !!!
You should try to find an old 2 stroke Yamaha it250. I use to have a 81 best bike I ever had and the only bike I ever regret selling.
How fast is the kdx 200? How much is it worth because I have been offered one. What year is it please
Rad Ride I’m wondering the same..
@Leon Dupe nice, I've got a 93
I had the rare red Kawasaki kdx200 only made for 6 months to see if they would sell more bikes with red plastics because Honda was killing them that year lol miss that bike
No red in the US but there was a white option.
Are these bikes 5 or 6 spd
You should keep that bike for trail riding
Okey there bud, I don't know if anyone has told you yet but that bike sounds like death. Wristpin, piston slap, or some ancient main bearings... maybe all three!
It's called a KIPS rattle...it's a Kawasaki thing specifically for this bike. Look it up...Ride one of these legendary 2-strokes if you can...it'll rip your arms off and give you chillz. Trust me...I know
@@neogeomedia idk man, I have an '89 kdx 200 and it definitely doesn't sound as bad as the one in the video. Also it's a trail bike it's not that fast it definitely won't rip your arms off lol.
Can I get in touch with you about one of your cr125's?
Hey 2vintage been watching you for years I wanted to know if u would ever consider restoring my machines?
What nice bike!
How much do you weigh?
Me: Finds a review of KDX200
Me: Realizes is the 2vingage channel 😭😭😭
Haven't even seen him ride it yet and from the comments I dont want to hahaha imagine thinking an old kdx "rips" lol I'm just here for the bikes
There are 125 2-strokes that are faster that 250 4 strokes.... Why are you suprised how fast it is. This bike is just as any other 250. It doesnt matter what size the motor is, as long as it puts the power to the ground
Kaden Tomlin a 125 2 stroke is equivalent to a 250 4 stroke so yea with a few mods and maybe not any at all most 2 stokes will kick 4 stokes ass they just eat them up
125 2 stroke or 250 4 stroke would probably eat this as far as overall power is concerned, and a 250 2 stroke would be no comparison.
Heres the but; the kdx has bucket loads of low down torque and awesome gearbox ratios, which is what makes them so good, actually better than many 4 strokes in this regard which is unusual for a 2 stroke
Liam i think the kdx is known for low end tourqe but a 6 speed 4 stroke is hard to beat on the trails
@@kadentomlin9947 for sure. A lot easier to ride really
