Connor, if you're reading this, not eating anything before these big food challenges is actually a bad thing since you're shrinking your stomach via fasting. I would recommend drinking lots of water starting a day or two beforehand but in general you don't want to not eat anything. Of course, seeing you struggle is entertaining so unless you're super serious it honestly doesn't matter either way. Keep up the great vids. Cheers!

I thought refeeding syndrome was more about the body adjusting to not getting nutrition and then not being able to process the massive wave of food when you eat too much
@@yourfellowsimp4561 Yup. This is how competitive eaters do it. Of course, this works in reverse, so if you eat small meals constantly, eventually you'll shrink your stomach and start to lose weight naturally because you don't eat that much anymore.
He also completed two IMPOSSIBLE side challenges: the IMPOSSIBLE not failing your health exam challenge and IMPOSSIBLE not disappointing your doctor challenge.

What baffles me is that normal food in japan is known for being TINY compared to america's, however challenges like these are SO MUCH compared to our "challenges." 😵💫
i feel like challenges in the US are to attract customers to try and have a chance but in japan they go crazy to make sure you lose.

@@lmojica9238 It's not really about expanding your stomach (You need to be a frequent big eater for that); It's that your body will be in digestion mode for it. Which means that your stomach can just fast-lane the food into your guts far quicker than otherwise, because the rest of your body is already ready.

I love how at the end, the level of closeness of Connor and Kaho are at that stage of their friendship where you could say f*ck off for putting you through pain and suffering (of course jokingly). That's the degree of closeness we would want to strive for with our friends.
Kaho actually had the correct idea when she ate dessert first. It's a good idea to prepare your stomach by eating a bit before, like a warm-up!

Eat a sugar free dessert shit makes you hungrier as soon as your brain registers you are empty calories
and sugar actually stimulates your stomach to expand too...
Yeah I noticed that eating nothing makes you fluctuate between being very hungry and not hungry at all, and when you do eat something, your stomach is contracted and unprepared for large amounts of food.

Some sugar substitutes still stimulate the release of insulin, which can lead you to feeling more hungry since you haven't actually consumed food that can be converted into fuel (this is due to carbohydrates being chiral, and our bodies only being capable of utilizing one of the two chiral forms).
TL;DR: It has nothing to do with the brain registering it, but rather a drop in blood sugar due to the release of insulin.

She's free to do whatever she wants, but it's simply not even remotely similar content ... watching her on Twitch feels entirely different than here (to me at least). That's all I was going for. These are not "real" people. They sell what works. Many of the successful ones have managers and entire teams behind them. Yet people somehow think that they're legit like that, like they confuse a comedian's persona with his actual real life identity.

Always when food challenges start with "i havent eaten anything" what follows is pain and suffering and not getting very far. If you want to do this you should eat early in the morning something like thick porridge, so that you stomach stretches and then wait for it to pass through you system. Makes thing alot easier.
