- Mondstadt was the first stop on our journey throughout Teyvat, and there was so much to see there. However, there's definitely room for more exploration, so today, I talk about Dornman Port and the Dandelion Sea, and what a Mondstadt Expansion could bring us.

Hear me out, its proven time and time again that Venti wakes up from his slumber when their are major problems. He goes dormant after it’s resolved. My question is, why is he still awake up until now? What great danger awaits that needed Venti’s passive help?
The anemo emo boys helped us alot, I think it's connected to Venti
venti is the most important archon in the game. i know you guys may disagree but watching anime for so many years now made me predict everything. for example in fairy tail, natsu is the first fairy tail member that lucy met and where are they now? who is the first archon that the traveler met? who is the one who always come to our rescue? who is the archon that the traveler can joke around with? even nahida as a goddess of wisdom and an avatar of the irminsul doesn't help the traveler as much as venti

Bennett's Hangout insists that he saw an entire sea of dandelions, and the location was super far North on the map. And when we get there, all the dandelions had been blown away.
Oh interesting! I haven’t done that hangout since it came out, so thank you for pointing that out!
It was at Stormbearer Point. There’s also a sister up there near the beacon tower that tells you that she and her family watch the skies for a giant storm that supposedly was predicted, so they can light the beacons and warn Mondstadt.
To be completely honest, we never had any single new playable character who's affilation is the adventure's guild, we only have Benny, Fishy and Razor (because of his biological parents). I wish to see more playable adventurer's in the future.
The one more thing that I was confused af is like the where is the other vision holders in the adventurers guild?
Maybe they will add in Snezhnaya and Fontaine..
Dandelion sea could be a separate map area like enkanomiya etc. and is probably well hidden from common people. Also there is a old saying in anime/jprgs : if a place/event is mentioned even as a myth or fairytale, it is real😂, so lets see how this turns out.
Well yes, but it’s access point is likley some massive field of dandelions north of mondstadt. Likely the size of the city of mondstadt. That when the appropriate quest is completed takes you to a even bigger dandelion bases map the size of the chasm. Maybe with dandelions the size of trees and a dandelions boss.
I just wanna point out how normally, an underwater part of the map it's represented on the map by the water by darker and well, look which colours Cider Lake has

I agree, I am personally inclined to believe the area may be similar to enkanomiya and the chasm, particularly in being sort of a large underground area. All of the other nations seem to have large areas underground (again chasm, enkanomiya and generally speaking the desert of sumeru, etc.) but iirc Mondstat so far lacks this. I find it somewhat unlikely they would not add something like this to Mondstadt as well, just considering prescedence. and as u said myths and fairytales in games do tend to have truths hidden in them so the possibility of the dandelion sea being is probably pretty high
It could also be handled in a similar way as Aranara's Mahavanaranapna in Vanarana. The fairy tales describes it as if it is a pocket dimension of some sorts
I think they probably release it after the Snezhnaya Chapter,Im pretty sure Mondstadt is going to be a major part of the story later because:
*The use of Genshin main leitmotif in some Mondstadt track (Might be a musical foreshadowing)
*Mondstadt have a lot of connection with Khaenriah (Kaeya,Albedo,Durin)
*We still haven't explore the Cider lake dark area yet (dark area in the map indicated there's an underground cave/dungeon)
So that's why i think Mondstadt expansion will be released just before the Khaenriah chapter
I personally think it will be released right before the Snezhnaya update, and the traveler is supposed to use that path through Dorman Port to reach Snezhnaya. We can return back to Mondstadt any time for any reason, but that area specifically seems like a good transition point to chapter 6
SPOILERS (if you don’t like hearing about leaks!!!)
That would be cool but there’s already some talk from leakers about a mondstadt expansion coming sometime near the release of Fontaine! There’s even leaked character designs releasing alongside Fontaine characters. This is just my own assumption but we could probably see it sometime from 3.6-4.2. I’d aim till closer to 4.2 though since all the leaks I’ve seen right now are very focused on Fontaine. Nothing more than a bunch of new characters and talk of the expansion for mond rn!
I've seen some leaks as well, but it just doesn't seem to make sense yet. Especially because 3.6 will have another desert area, Qiaoying Village needs to come out at some point, 3.8 might bring Golden Apple Archipelago back again, and 4.0 - 4.1 is the release of Fontaine, so I just don't see Northern Mondstadt making an appearance, at least not before 4.3. The map makers need sleep too lmao. But only time will tell I suppose
@@Vazalemma yeah that’s what I find odd about it. They’re already planning for the mond expansion but Qiaoying village needs to come out before Fontaine. We’ve till got 3.5-3.8(ish) before Fontaine so maybe we’ll get them both really soon? Feels like a lot being added to the game at once though. It’s nice that they’re adding this much though. Good to have even a small break from the old places in the game
For now I think we’ve just gotta keep watching the leaks and see what else comes out!
yep, also I think they'll be adding Monstadt underground area, remember the "Thousand Winds Temple"? that closed gate that leads underground, I'm sure they'll add an underground that connects to the story.
I imagine that dornman port could be how we reach snezhnaya. so, perhaps the port will be added in a similar manner to the chasm, being added shortly before a new region, and being how we travel there.
perhaps dornman port could feature an archon prologue quest, similar to the one with kazuha, where we try to find a ship to snezhnaya, but stuff happens.
running into a new snezhnaya character here would work well too, similar to how we got kazuha. if any region should get the same level of build-up as inazuma did, it's snezhnaya.
I also think theres a possibility that they'll add a Monstadt underground parts, remember the "Thousand Winds Temple"? maybe that closed gate also leads to the underground.
OH. I really hope so! Especially after Enkanomiya revealed more information about Istaroth/Kairos. It would be amazing if the yet to be seen Dandelion Sea was another underground region like The Chasm and Enkanomiya. Plus, it makes sense thematically for a place full of wind-related flowers to be connected to a place called the Thousand Winds Temple... I really want another massive lore drop and this sounds like a great place for Genshin to do it
i wish in dornman port we meet another knight of favonious playable character that guard that port because for now we never see any new high rank knights of favonious their was also a character name nymph that mention is lisa character story i wish that character will appear on dorman port area
There are 2 Mondstadt characters that got leaked alongside the Fontaine ones. One of them has pink hair and red clothes with an Anemo vision and kinda resembles Yanfei. The other one was supposedly based on the Snow White story (which was made in Germany), has dark hair and a hat, uses a sword and holds an apple. Maybe one of the 2 could be Nymph?
i have a theory that the dandelion sea might be another name for the dark sea, where the gods who lost the archon war went. because there's the whole practice (i guess ? im not sure how else to put it) of talking to a dandelion and then letting the wind carry it away. so !!!! the gods who lost the archon war, not part of the seven, not close to celestia. . . . . in a sense they would be free from celestia ?
UNLESS the dandelion sea is actually real and im linking two completely unrelated things !

I doubt he will be playable. It's hinted that he's old and human. Hoyo has yet to release a physically old playable character 😅
Lore wise Varka has to be physical, since he trained both razor and Eula and they are the only two main physical units in genshin. And if he’s physical, from a gameplay standpoint it’d be hard not to have his vision be either cryo or electro since those are the two elements that create the superconduct reaction

We NEED to start speeding up the rate at which harbingers are introduced and defeated. We’ve only gotten through 3 of them in 3 out of 7 story chapters.
So one in Dornman Port, one in the Blackcliff Forge, and then 2 in fontaine, 2 in natlan, and 2 in snezhnaya for a total of 11. And THEN we’re probably going to either fight against or ally with the Tsaritsa against celestia
we don't necessarily need to fight all of them
I would want to somehow promote a random npc into a playable character. Whether that is the dandelion sea kid, Timmy or Jeht. (I do feel like that quest line needs a playable character involved.)
I wonder if the Dandelion sea might be a domain that Venti shows us in another story quest, probably talking about Vanessa. I hope not. I wanna explore haha
I don't care about snezhnaya and fatui they'll get their lore eventually when this region comes out, all I need from this expansion is MONDSTADT lore and especially Venti's lore because he still doesn't have his character story 2 and he's one of the most mysterious characters. And overall I miss Mondstadt and its atmosphere

I do believe it's possible that we might be able to explore Dornman Port and it might include Varka to be released in a future 5.X patch, since Mika received a letter from Varka that he and his army has gone to Natlan and ended up meeting Capitano there (which they ended up helping each other for the time being) during the 3.4 event (I think(?).
Oh hell yea, been watching through all of these recent videos, so much fun!
And also can't wait for Dornman Port for sure. If it's going to be in such a political place between Snezhnaya and Mondstadt then it's bound to be pretty important to the story. Really interested in how Mihoyo decides to design the area as well, since old Mond areas really fell behind with the new region releases.

Mondstadt will always be my favorite region and I think it has the deepest lore among all nations it's just that we haven't discovered it yet. The first few quests are like mere teasers.
I think the writers intention is to bring us back once the game is nearing its end.
Hope Mondstadt don't disappoint both on environmental design and lore. The only interesting environmental design in Mondstadt is Dragonspine.
I think dorman's port will have venti's second story(and it's corresponding weekly boss which all archons seem to get on their 2nd story quest)
Maybe Dandelion Sea is located in a cave under Cider Lake. Something like the cave under Sumeru's Mount Damavand. The kid outside Mond is facing Cider Lake, and right outside it we can find some dandelions, in a similar way as the furina's flowers in the lake and the flower-filled tree in the middle.
Maybe the Dandelion Sea could be located in another map like Enkanomiya and the underground mines of the Chasm?
very excited for mondstat content only thing fueling me from still playing the game, hope mika shows us the way there
"Somewhere" in Mondstadt would be the gate to Celestia, and "someone" would reveal and point the way. If that would be true, I'm thinking that Mondstadt might get its expansion right after Snezhnaya, likely as a prologue to the next archon quest chapter, together with new weekly boss and a certain someone's story quest chapter 2 where we might encounter that boss.
Dandelion Sea, if it's true, might be in an underground area. This is just a wild guess, since there's no underground area in Mondstadt. Being underground would explain why it's almost impossible to find, being dismissed as a myth. It might also connect this to the Abyss, or even Khaenri'ah, or the single world community in which Byakuyakoku formerly belonged. My guess for its entrance would be in Old Mondstadt. There's a hole leading underground under Decarabian's tower. I'm also guessing that the Old Mondstadt's ground might be a sinkhole, and was supposed to be sank like what happened in Byakuyakoku.

I think we would have to clear the passage that Klee destroyed since the city of Mondstadt has a mini port but the city is on a lake there must be an area in the dornman port where this lake flows into the ocean

They have 11 Harbringer and it not suited for world boss capacity unless they make double Fatui boss..
Now i really have a feeling that this area is gonna be released somewhere in the late 5.X versions, likely before Snezhnaya. This is added to the fact that from what i can see so far, it seems like Snezhnaya might not directly border any nation, and might be separated by the sea. I know this comes as a surprise, but that's because we can't see anything apart from the sea in the north, even in Fontaine. This might not be a big sea though, maybe something like what's separating Fontaine from Sumeru. And Dornman Port might just be used to send us to Snezhnaya in the plot.
Isn't there like an Island to the north of Mondstadt? It's not just sea all the way...
@@sasuke96515 I'm not sure if it was there before Fontaine, as i haven't seen it by looking from the paimon boundary. I only saw a lot of land north of Fontaine in 4.1, which might probably be Snezhnaya.

As for the dandelion sea, if it's a normal place like nothing extremely magical or divine like the Eternal Oasis it would probably be in between the port and Mondstadt city maybe even a secret hidden location
And if it is a magical or Divine location it'll probably be seperated from the mainland

I don't usually write comments on videos, but there's something that caught my eye. I noticed that characters have voicelines when the wind is blowing, however, we never hear them say those lines. Why is that? At first, I thought that the lines would trigger in the new area only. But, having used most characters who have those lines (like Ayato, for example), I never got to hear them. This all made me think that, having read some comments, the area around the Port could be windy, or have ares with varying wind strength. I believe the latter is the case, since we can see some characters praising how gentle the wind is, while some (like Barbara) imply that the wind is quite strong. Therefore, some climate disaster could be going around the Port, just like Dragonspine or the mist around Tsurumi.
Having read my own comment, something hit me. Maybe that's why Varka went up North, due to the climate having changed for the worse. Which would explain another comment on here why Barbatos/Venti is still awake.
Of course that would make sense. We didn't have enough air themed mechanics in the region of Anemo, so i would like them adding anything that would improve it.

In the lore it is said Morax's lands stretched for a Thousand Kilometres but we can clearly see that was not the case.So Dornman Port could easily be just a little north of Mondstadt.

I admittedly feel kinda dumb that I thought Mondstat was so weirdly small compared to other nations (literally only two settlements, three counting Dawn Winery). I'd be excited to see more of it.

I wonder how they will go about expanding Mondstat, since it was the starter region there isnt much in terms of caves or complex puzzles in the region. If they make the area have more complex stuff, it would feel really disconnected from the rest of Mondstat, if its simpler, it would be a bit boring compared to the content veteran players are used too.
I hope thye make it more complex tbh and separate the parts by a river or smth
Something just came to my mind, maybe the "Dandelion Sea" can be an allegory of the bloodshed on Catyclysm. Maybe I'm wrong who knows.

i think before going to shneznaya the traveler and paimon will go back the roots fro fontaine to liyue to monstadt then through dorman port to shneznaya and why not liyue you may wonder itssimple cuz of high mountains and low stamina just deal with the pain of collecting occuli
I think that its posible that on the update 3.6 is the mondstadts expansion because .6 updates is allways about mondstadt I think it would be cool if they had wine industry(for example some wine from dandelions and they had their local wine nobelman he would be an enemy of diluc(maybe the bad guy because he would collaborate with the fatui)

After a year since this video is published, the port is still not here 😅 Sadly I have a suspicion we won't get it in this version, since we still need expansions to the Fontaine map and also the leaks imply the whole between Fontaine and the desert will be filled. 🤔

I would love to read the comment section but people just spread leaks about when the new location will actually come out and that’s not cool imo. I like to speculate but when people just outright say when it’s coming, it really ruins the hype for me. I want to be surprised when I watch an update livestream.

Yes, I’m planning a video on my thoughts on it, but there has to be another expansion cause we currently don’t have enough Dendroculi to fully upgrade the Sumeru Statue

Yep, we don't have enough Dendroculi to get our Sumeru Statues to Level 10, and our Exploration Progress can't reach 100% yet.

The pacing of your video is very slow not sure if your trying to stretch the video out but yeah just fyi
When I write my scripts I often do it in a way that would make it easy for me to learn the content of the video while watching, so going a little bit slow is intentional, as it would help me retain information, and hopefully it helps others as well.
