- The New Century Arms Centurion 11 in 45 ACP is a 1911 handgun that follows the basic G.I. Model issued by the US Military from 1911 until 1985. The best part is, it's very affordable. Big thanks to @centuryarms for their partnership.
Big thanks to Fiocchi USA for Supplying our ammunition! @FiocchiUSA

I love the way it looks...Man 1911s are such beautiful pistols...Just can't get enough of them...
Careful of the Rock Island G.I. issue guns. The grip safety will go "off safe" when the gun is pointed to the ground!?!?
@@guyfawkesuThe1 So far...no issues..
1911 is an iconic pistol. My father is a retired military man. We taught for basic and practical shooting. However, my dad sell this gun and invested in a little business and his in heaven already. Still misses this gun.! Stay safe everyone. Have a blessed day ahead.
Thanks for the reminder. This looks exactly like the WW2 vintage 1911 that I carried on patrols of the Trust Territories of the Pacific in the mid-1960s, on the Island of Guam, the Philippines and in Vietnam.
No matter what it is, when Sootch has a video, I watch
Tisas Service.$319 and 2 mags.
I have one. It's good.
I remember when I bought my first colt 70 series 1979 they were only 300 Dollars
I have the Service Special....it was $349 new. Came with two mags and two sets of grips. Hell of a deal.
I like it! Simple. No frills. No nonsense.
A very simple looking 1911 pistols. I like it :)
The 1911 pistol is one of the most popular pistols in the world...greetings from me in Indonesia. The 1911 pistol is still used by the military.
Everytime it's a 1911 review, I will surely watch it.
I bought my first "1911" style pistol out of pure curiosity to try the trigger on it two weeks ago: the Tisas Night Stalker
That price is insanely good for what you get. If you never owned a 1911 and want to try one without a huge investment, this would be a good one to buy.
How much?
@@harrygrimley4352 16:15 $399
Looks just like the Remington-Rand 1911A1 I carried as a duty pistol as a detective for several years. Except 1/10th the price, LOL. This looks like it will be an excellent value! Great review, thanks!
Looks like a solid weapon at a reasonable price. What's not to like? Thanks Don.
Thanks Jager!
It's nice to see an affordable 1911. Okay, it doesn't have all the bells & whistles of a Kimber or an Ed Brown but not everyone needs that. If it's reliable, robust and reasonably accurate it will definitely work if the operator does their part. If necessary, get a tune-up on the trigger and you've got a proven platform without spending a ton of money. Well done, Sootch!
I have never seen a Century Arms weapon shoot that many times without a malfunction before.
The Tisas seems like a better purchase at this price range though, no?
The 1911. The legendary John Moses Browning's most brilliant creation of what man can create with steel and ingenuity.
My vote is for the 50BMG.

Hi Power?
An excellt explanation of Old Colt, who refuses to retire and has prov his worth for more than 100 years
I wanted a Para GI Expert when I got into 1911s. This reminds me of that pistol.
This M11 is a real beauty. Thanks for this video.
Looks like a good USGI style 1911A1. I would put a curved steel mainspring housing with lanyard loop and Walnut US double diamond grips and call it good.
Boy, what a beauty and an excellent job of filming and talking us through the disassembly etc. saving this one.
I wish these companies would reproduce the earlier Colt auto pistols made before the 1911. They have a very nice appearance as well.
It’s too bad we still can’t get the old norinco 1911a1. Good to see Turkey picking up the market slack.
I was 12 when I took my first shots and it was a Colt Delta Elite 10mm.
That's certainly NOT a WW1 1911. It's the 1911A1 variant that has a shorter hammer to reduce hammer bite, curved main spring housing, and scallop cuts behind the trigger to shorten the reach and allow you to get your finger into the trigger easier.
The Turkish made 1911s that I own and have handled, are amazing reliability for the price. The ones I have used have no malfunctions so far. I like the "Battle Field" configurations due to the simplistic design which they followed in remaking them.
Turkey that explains the dead finish. Shoots Great 👍
RIP Canada for owing handguns anymore, i would definitely purshase this handgun if i was aloud.
If you were an attorney general under Barry Obomber, you could just sneak them into your country and never be held accountable.
Wow…. That is really nice for the price. You can tell just from the video, fit and finish is outstanding.
Man, at around $350, that's a great gun that's reliable. I also have a question, I like wrist watches as well and what are you wearing in the video? If you don't mind me asking.
It should be noted that unlike the 'traditional' 1911, this gun has a lowered ejection port. A feature that improves reliability.
Would love to see the Polish 9mm Radom pistol manufactured again.
Awesome stuff, Sootch!
Thank you for sharing this video with us ❤ It’s a nice 1911
Thanks for stopping by Paul!
Gotta ❤ the intro. Always!!
Built my Combat Commander from basic raw parts 3 years ago
I love my Tisas GI model 1911.
Its a ok entry level 1911.As stated tisas and rock make a decent option that's proven. On the USA made 1911s there's Plenty of choices. My last buy was a Ruger LW 45 with a case and 2 mags for a thrifty $600.00 out the door.Excellent 1911 and prices will vary 600-630.
Additional thought for the video. Trigger pull. On the Glock and some Police Pistols, Agencies required a heavy trigger pull on the Service weapons. New York City had a much more heavy tigger pull on its Glock Firearms. As to the 1911, personally, the weight of the trigger pull for a single action or a striker type action is resolved with a crisp trigger release. Not so much the weight but the actuation of the sear. But again, it is me.
I love my Rock Island Armory 1911a1 Rock Standard FS. 😊
Great review as always. God Bless America
Great video absolutely beautiful new century arms 1911 I would love to have one of those thanks for sharing sootch00
If the trigger is too stiff, buy you some snap caps and snap it about 200 times and the trigger will get better and you will not waste any ammo or hurt your gun in any manner.
Sooch: how has the 1911 been popular after 100 years?
Myself: yes 🇺🇸🦅🗽
That's a nice looking 1911 and almost certainly made by Tisas. But a 7+ pound trigger? It wouldn't be for long. I'd have it about half that pretty quickly.
A well executed 1911.
At that price point I’ll keep my tisas
At that price point I’ll keep my norincos
My first 1911 was a Para Ordinance G.I. This looks very similar to that Para and the price on this one is very reasonable for what you get.
What's not to like about a 1911? I'm working on buying one of every flavor I love these guns so much. Other than the Colt Single Action Army, there's probably no handgun more American than the 1911 IMO.
I don't need it, I don't , I really don't...... Yes I do 😂
I like a 1911 , the heavy slide absorbs a lot of recoil made it easier to stay on target .
I only shoot 1911s and a few striker fired pistols in .45 auto. I can't hit nothing with a 9mm to save my life.
Great video Sootch! Good lookin 1911. Well packaged, I wish that the trigger was a lighter.
I think i prefer the tisas series to be honest especially with that tank trigger.
That looks like a nice 1911, but mine would have to sport a wooden grip. Excellent review Sootch00!
You can keep that Kimber I'll take the colt.
Squeezing the trigger isn't a part of 1911 disassembly - especially when you're just going to rack the slide (recocking the hammer) to get it to the SS removal position anyway! It's not only unnecessary, but counterproductive because it adds the mainspring's resistance to slide retraction.
😊😊👍👍 VERYGOOD ⚡⚡🔥🔥gi Classic

Looks good.
1911 is one of the best designed guns ever, they are bombproof, all steel or you can get the aluminum frame versions (or even some plastic frame versions), endless amounts of aftermarket parts and support and you can get them in everything from 22 lr, 380, 9mm, 40, 45, 10mm and beyond...everyone should have one, it is a very safe pistol to carry and tends to be the choice of experts, due to the accuracy, tunability and unique, easy to operate trigger. The 45 cartridge is very hard to beat for on target performance, especially if you know how to tune a 1911 to shoot hp's, then you can use hst's or other 45 auto rounds that open to an inch and penetrate deep...basically a 12 gauge slug in a handgun, and that's no joke.
These 1911's coming out of Turkey and the Philippines are really nice and are one of the best deals for the dollar you can spend.
No doubt. Poor man's Colt. The Rock Island Armory in 9mm/ 22 tcm. 😅
Price is right. Thank you
When I retire to Italy I’m buying . As I come from the land of the freee.
@A14b29. In Italy,a citizen has no Constitutional protected right to own a firearm, which means the government may and will deny you. 👎🇺🇸🇺🇸
1911s are coming back thanks to the 20yr olds. Same as wearing vintage Green Day and Soundgarden tshirts, and "I just discovered this new band called Pennywise"
I just discovered this new group called 'Mitch Miller and his Orchestra'.
Why a 1911?Because....It's a 1911 enough said❤
Nice review again 👍🏻
It’s Solid Snakes favorite gun between his mark 23 and beretta m9. 😂
Tentei chegar mais rápido que sua mira😂 saudações do Brasil 🇧🇷. Parabéns pelo seus vídeos 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Don, how's it compare to the base model Tisas? It looks identical.
Thanks for a great video I might consider getting one
Good morning, everyone. ❤🇺🇸❤️. Man! The price. I mite just have to purchase one.
Important item (for me) that he left off is whether it is forged, cast, or a mix of both. Also didn't mention if the parts interchange with GI parts. Tisas does NOT interchange.
You sure about that? I've swapped several parts on my Tisas with only minor fitting, which I understand to be par for the course with the 1911 platform...
I'd change out the black plastic grips for staghorn grips, otherwise good to go!
Are Turkish made 1911s superior to the Armscor and Metro Arms pistols manufactured in the Philippines?
Filipino is better
Shoot 399 sweet!
Seems as a Goverment model, with extra long Barrel👌👍
Muy Buena pistola de calidad 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
That’s a nice 1911! I like 45acp a lot!! I’d probably run liberty civil defense ammunition with the 1900 fps!!!
I am a fan of the 1911, it is just a meat and potatoes downhome, workhorse firearm...
Too bad the ammo gouging is still going on. That is why myself and many others have lost interest in the shooting sports.
Hey Sootch, isn't a "gutter sight" just a sight channel milled into a frame on a revolver or a slide on and auto? That does not fit the description you gave.
I love this gun , is amazing 💯💯🔥
Sir. Good review. Thanks for sharing this with us. BUT.... A pet pev of mine. If you compare to other weapons you must provide all the information on the others.
I am in the market for a 1911 like this The only thing that I don't like about this one is the painted on finish. I want one that is Parkerized.
Go with tisas or ATI
Quite a nice value pistol. Should be offered (for a few extra dollars) with a traditional GI holster.
Wish they had 15 round magazine for this.firearm 😊
I prefer my Springfield milspec
What watch is that?
$349 at Buds
Grips look like a second thought, look at at 5:20. Looks like some used a Dremel tool so the grips would fit the firearm?
I have had several brands of 1911s, sold them all over time but kept the one I liked best,, and that was the Chinese 1911.
I don't see anything about this one being hardened steel. Anyone know?
A 1911 with an almost 8 lb trigger pull? 😱
Yep that's a big no-no for me.
😊❤❤❤
Is it true it’s about 499 as retail I saw what the interwebs say?
$352 on Bud's.
@@tomcurran8470 oh sweet I gotta check that out thanks!!
CLONE
So you will only buy a $2k Colt 1911. Congratulations.
No. 8 round magazine, so original GI 1911 mags do not fit. And the browning system from this firearm is in multiple modern firearms as well as other curiou and relic pistols as well.
Century has a history of mangling their imports and also building their domestic guns to substandard quality. Why would we trust them with a 1911? What makes this better than a Tisas or Rock Island? These cheap Turkish knockoffs are flooding the market and I'm not impressed.
💯I’ve been screwed over by Century more than one. PISS poor customer service. They lose you rifle for 8 months or better after you send it in to be repaired and when you get it back there is major cosmetic damage and the original mechanical issue wasn’t even fixed. Hell with Century Arms🖕🏻
l didn't hear if he said the price, anyone know the price?
$399 retail
You never mentioned the fact that it also doesn't have an Ambidextrous Safety which is only important to about 25% of the population who are Left Handed as I am. I've always liked 1911's but the reviewers are always Right Handed so they skip that very Important Point.
Minority rights, Sootch!
Is there a difference in the degree of "safetiness" between a series 70 1911 vs a series 80 1911?
The series 80 has a firing pin safety, the series 70 doesn’t.
Yes, 10.
Why? Because our lord and savior John Moses Browning created perfection.
No Turkey crap for me thanks. And why at 12:15 in the video does it say 115 9mm while your shooting the target?
More for the rest of us ..ty
👍👍
He was testing you. Lol
But than .45 is almost .75 a round. I guess to own one would the point.
Optic cut would be great on this
