10mm is the ultimate pcc cartridge
You can also use .40 caliber since it's a short 10 mm with less pressure.
Especially if you have a direct impingement PCC (check out Macon Armory). Butter!
@Joe-sh2tf but that's only a consideration in pistols, not pistol caliber carbines lol. With two grips AND a shoulder stock? Go ahead with the pressure.
@@LIONTAMER3D I will say that the ASP is pretty snappy in 10mm, but butter in 40 (I have both, as well as 9mm and 45). I'd go so far as to state that 10mm gets uncomfortable to shoot with the OEM plastic stock. I've upgraded to a magpul with a rubber end.
I would agree with the OP until you look at subsonics. There .45 ACP comes in heavier bullets - 230 grains or more - that you can keep under 1,100 fps. With subsonic bullets the speed is the same so heavier is better.

I've had the 10mm rifle for several years and it is my something goes bump in the night - go to. I also have a Glock 20, so it is great to share the mags.
I have both a Glock 20 and a 40. I'm definitely going to have to look into this PCC.

Love the versatility of the TNW Aero Survival Rifle in 10mm! Being able to use Glock mags and its takedown capability make it a practical choice for both storage and handling.
I've had one for several years and have enjoyed it thoroughly. My only comments are that the non-Glock mag that came with it went into the garbage, but I've had no issues with Glock mags. Also, you really need to lock the bolt back, insert the mag, and then release the bolt. When doing that, I've had no feeding issues.
Finally, I would get the pistol, rather than the rifle. 16" gets nothing for a 10mm. The 10" barrel on the pistol is just fine.
The bolt does need two men and a horse to pull it back.
I also use nothing but SiG Ammo. Some others are much weaker and had trouble running the bolt.

I have one of these! I also have 9mm, 40, and 45 calibers. 40 is probably the perfect cartridge for such a light gun.

I have had this carbine for at least 6 years now. You can actually use Glock 29 10 round mags in it. I am a firm believer in a pistol and PCC combo. So that is why I paired this with a G29 and use G20 mags in both. Also the castle nut retainer is used because screwing in or out the buffer tube is how you adjust for sub sonic ammo or if you slap a can on it. Great little carbine. Cheers!

TNW Just introduced a new bolt that works with all the pistol cartridges that the ASR is available in, so now you don't even have to change the bolt.

I bought 2 back in January. I really tried to like this gun. I fell for the sexy good looks, the PCC craze, all the positive reviews. I ignored all the negative reviews, much to my dismay. Nothing but FTF issues from day one. Watched many CZcams vids on what to do to make it run. No luck. Called TNW and they sent me two redesigned bolts. Said that this would solve the problems. Nope. I sent both guns back for adjustments. After getting them back they ran worse than before. Prior to return I would get 5-7 rounds fired before a FTF. After I got 1-3 rounds before FTF. Note in the box said they shot 30 rounds with no malfunctions. BS! I tried genuine Glock mags as well as the factory mag. All failed. Several brands of quality ammo, including; 2 different Federal, Fiocchi, Grizzly. All failed to feed. Called TNW and asked for my money back. They said "sorry you bought your guns thru GunBroker so can't refund". You and many others have no failures, for now. Best of luck but you couldn't give me one of these ever again.

10mm out of a 16¼in barrel definitely hits hard. I wonder if they could have done a roller delayed blowback or tilting bolt instead of straight blowback.

Love my 10mm carbine.... people like to talk crap about Hi Point, but at least in the carbines, I've been quite happy. Very solid thumper for up to 150 yards, much beyond that accuracy diminishes quickly.

Hey, can you tell us more about those magazine speed loaders you use? I have a couple that came with different firearms, but they don't seem to work as well as the ones I see you use.

Hey Don, this look sweet might be a good one to SBR, and suppressed, I’m thinking 9mm 147 Sub Sonic. This was a good choice to review, lot better than the AR9.

How does this compare to the Just Right Carbine Take Down model that you reviewed about eight years back? This has potential, but I'm not thrilled with the proprietary fire control group.
I really like the 10mm (full power). Maybe one day TNW can make a left charging or maybe ambidextrous charging.
It wasn’t stated if a dowel rod is included, if not, do we have to hope and pray we have a small tree limb or something on the ground to get the bolt out for maintenance in the field?

You said it comes with SGW mags did you mean SGM mags. I’m not trying to be a know it all, just double checking and making sure I heard it right.
Would be interesting if there were different loads tested with a chronograph and jelly blocks. Love the detailed close up views.
Looks and sounds good. I'm just tired of only glock magazines. There are other gun makers out there that people have other than glock.

I would carry this in 10mm however I think if you use a Rifle it should fit in the ( 308 ) and your handgun should be a 45 caliber hollowpoints ⚫️

The barrel in my Glock G40 10mm is almost as long as that rifle. Much more compact. 👍
Some people act like 10mm is only useful for bears or whatever. I disagree. With 10mm, I can have light .40 S&W-esque loads, and heavy hard cast loads. If I were to use .40 S&W, I'd just have .40 S&W.
The price for 10mm is getting ridiculous. The other day I paid 42 dollars for 20 rounds. Fkn crazy.

They make a swap in barrel with a 40 chamber. 40 is butter on the ASP.

Did you try anything other than FMJ? I have one of these and it will not feed truncated cone or hollow point. As it tries to feed it catches on the top of the ring of the barrel.

A true survival rifle in my book would be in the most common cartridge, have duable iron sights, and the most reliable action (probably bolt). Stainless steel too

Dude with max loaded 10mm yes 16" does get you more FPS. I have one and I handload hot 10mm and boy do those those babies scream.
