- Shadow Systems takes the Glock design to another level. The CR920X is comparable to the G43x yet there are a lot of upgrades that make this a better option in a lot of respects. Plus it gives us more options for our daily carry pistol. #Shadowsystems #CR920X #Glock43x #Shadowsystemspartner
A big thanks to Shadow Systems for sending the CR920 for the review @ShadowSystemsCorp
Big thanks to Fiocchi USA for Supplying our ammunition! @FiocchiUSA

Their prices are out of wack.
Have 6000 + rounds plus in my mR920 and never had one problem from day one. Have my gun smith check it out once year and no need to replace anything. Have had Glocks for years and this one is as as good but nicer. Buy one you won’t regret it! Also great customer service if you have any questions.
Bs on the customer service.. I bought a cr920x. Have problem with premature lock back. Sent it to them and got it back with same problem. I’m still waiting for it. They have had it like 4 weeks. I had it for like 4 days. I can’t wait to get it back and selling it. I had two other shadow systems and planned to buy another. But with this. I’ve sold the other two and not buying another.
"gun smith check it out once year" thats similar to car service, man.
I picked up a G43X for a steal a couple weeks ago. I couldn’t pass up $397 total brand new. That price was after taxes with my military discount. Y’all try beating that!
Check out the Patriot+Protector Program that Shadow offers
'stole one from a vehicle with a glock bumper sticker that was left the car unlocked' - your local criminal
@@762x69 I reckon theft could beat that deal until karma bites you in the ass one day. Karma is a “B” word lol
Could have beat it by getting a 48 instead
Too much money.

👍👍
Awesome video nice shadow system gun thanks for sharing sootch00
Love it…. my Christmas list
It's awesome to see more options for daily carry that don't compromise on quality or reliability.
This one is not reliable. It’s got a problem with premature lock back. Watch Justin opinions video. I’ve got the same problem. Sent it to them and they sent it back with the same issue.
I don't see any flaws or weaknesses in this weapon, it's really perfect in every way and it's a very good weapon and very suitable.
I just wish they would bring back the Combat series. Was a great in between when compared to the Foundation and the Elite series, in my opinion.
the combat series being in between is why they discontinued it in the first place. Keeping it simple with Foundation on one extreme and tricked out with Elite on the other extreme streamlines the manufacturing process.
I have the CR 920 and love it. I shoot it better than other similar handguns
Don’t shoot better then a Glock. I shot both back to back at the range and noticed the shadow systems has a lot more recoil and just energy in general coming out the firearm. You can feel it more violently in your hands. The Glock 19 I shot was much softer.
@@GloccatoI’m on here to hate on ss and their customer service as I’m dealing with my new gun being there for a second time for the same problem. With that said. Ss mr920 (Glock 19 size) shoots much softer than g19. Dr920 shoots softer than g17 & this cr920 is way softer than a g43. I own both plus a psa dagger micro. Hell I like the dagger better than the 43x. Until ss fixes the premature lock back. They are at the bottom of my list but other than that problem. It’s far superior to Glock.
Good looking pistol.
Nice review Sootch. I own a Glock 43X MOS and absolutely love it. But after watching this video I think I want to try the CR920X and see for myself how it compares. Thanks for the great review!
It sure is a looker.
Didn't realize they were out of Plano, looked at them at NRA this year and was impressed. Thanks Sootch for the review!
I just wish Glock would get with the times and come out with higher capacity magazines for the micro pistols
I've got the shield mags and replaced my mag release to steel. Never had a problem. 😊
2
Same here. Have 3 shield arms mags
Yet
For a lot less money too boot!
@@Chainsaw2373take the Glock. Buy shield mags, better trigger and better sights. How’s the price now? With that said. Ss needs to fix the premature lock back on this. It’s not something I can trust to carry. Oh wait. I can’t carry it anyhow. It’s back at ss for a second time (same issue).
Finally, a gun manufacturer that maks magazines that do not jam!😊
When adding after-market parts to any firearm, you must consider the ever-increasing costs and, more importantly, the risks. I owned a pair of G43x and G48. I purchased as many SA-15-round mags as possible, and they all worked flawlessly. Then, you must add night sites, an optic plate, and a metal mag release. One day, while at the range, I had an intermittent discharge. Luckily, I was following the rules of firearm safety, and the round discharged downrange. That isn't a manufacturer's issue. When you modify a firearm, you assume those risks. Therefore, you're better off purchasing with your options and use in mind. Also, just because the SA-15 mags hold 15 rounds doesn't mean you load 15 rounds in them.
Like them except the trigger is terrible

Thanks. Great review. I’m a Glock guy. My G43X has been my edc firearm for years. That said, I’m going to give this new gun a try. Already own the SS’s G19 clone. It’s a sweet gun
Hopefully you haven’t bought one yet. Let ss workout the premature lock back problem. Watch Justin opinions video. I had the same problem. It’s back at ss for the second time. I’ve had it in my possession for 4 days. They’ve had it 4 weeks.
@@Berettaguy Thanks. I will check it out. Appreciate the heads up
How about a video to compare the top of the line Shadow Systems MR/XR 920P and Bul-Armlry XS/C... Both of these polymer tools have an amazing track record... I hope to add one from each company someday soon.
No
Got my first gun 1989 GLOCK GEN 1 M17 KEPT IT ONE Year PLASTIC FANTASTIC NEEDED A NEW HIGH CAPACITY GUN LAST year BECAUSE of WHAT'S going on in OUR COUNTRY DECIDING no GLOCK WENT WITH DR920 Has everything i need in upgrades nice gun now thinking about the CR920X Looks VERY CCW and its made here GLOCK is not
Did you notice that the mag release is stiff/difficult to depress to the point to drop the mag? Compared to my Glocks and even my other Shadow System (an MR920) you have to depress the mag release below flush and it takes a good amount of effort.
Shadow Systems CR series had a multitude of problems when introduced. They received rave reviews in the beginning just like this. But those reviews soured as problems began to arise. $800 bucks for a Glock sub-compact clone is ridiculous. I think I’d rather buy the extensively proven Glock 43X with the Ameriglo sights for 1/3 less.
They tried a new barrel design meant to preserve the bronze finish it didn’t work out so they ended up using a different one other then that shadow systems have a good track record
Had one for a month. All kinds of feeding problems. No matter what ammo I tried. Maybe just got a fluke.
You didn't
@@johnj.baranski6553 Had high hopes. I collect but Shadow not on list anymore. Have better results with CZ and Canik as of late.
You didn't, I jumped on the early bandwagon on the CR920 as well, and went through three different ones firing hundreds of rounds through each for "break-in" and they malfunctioned almost every single mag from round 1 to more than 500 plus (per pistol).
Had same issues. Sold mine
Wow to see people argue over guns like this is crazy! This guy just did an absolute perfect review of a nice gun. Take it or leave it or carry what you want but good lord lol! At least we have plenty of options! Let’s fight to keep it that way instead of talking bad about other peoples opinions!
Have you attempted to put the slide from the CR920P on the CR920X frame yet? With the compensator it would make it a G48 length if swapping it over.
I think the deeper tail is better than Glocks however I've never gotten slide bite from My 43x . only problem with My Glock is the length of pull and getting my finger into the trigger guard from the index point. Carrying with a steep CANT holster helps keep it from printing through your shirt on the hip, carrying appendix hides the best with a hybrid hyde leather back holster. I've tried the Glock store DD trigger connector 3.5 lb. with all stock springs gives a 4.5 lb. Trigger pull but not as good of a wall feel it rolls through to brake slightly easier. It did improve my groups though. The new Glock proformence trigger is a much better way to go because of the way it operates, loading up the striker spring and releasing the sear is a cleaner way to brake the connection. Glock store Lenny McGill shows up close how it works with a cut away slide on his video, check it out. Don , WE want to know if you like it better than the original ?
The ss beaver tail sucks. It’s not as wide so I actually got bit shooting it. I’ve never been bit shooting a 43x. Of course I’ve got bigger problems with the cr920x. It’s at ss for a second time already. It’s got a problem with premature lock back
That grammar keeps improving Scootch
So, I would like to see a review on the fn510, 509, and 545
Shadow systems still hasn't done anything with the trigger? All of the extras doesn't do any good with a stiff trigger. Everyone complaines about the stiff trigger on a glock. It's just a high priced glock.
The improvements over the G43x definitely make it a compelling choice for daily carry.
It is if they fix the premature lock back problem.
Can you do a side by side comparison to see the difference in grip height length between 43x and 920x?
you like the P better? Which is softer?
Shadow is a great company but they don't got 30+ years of reliability I'm keeping my glocks
Nice machine work on the pistol, all cuts and margins are dead even. High quality carry.
I bought the ProMag 9mm 15-Round Magazine for my Glock 43X & 48 Pistols respectively and you don't have to change the mag release.
Problem with pro mag is when you have a good one they seem to work 10 years ago now, we bought 3 40 round AR mags. 2/3 were terrible. The one that did function we didn’t trust. Same with their extended Glock mags. $20 so we bought 4. None worked 100% but the ones that worked better had less burrs and examining the springs they were all a different length. This was years ago and they have mags accessible that are usually harder to find. My personal experience at the range for funzies was unimpressive to say the least. I’d trust ETS more as when they first came out they worked well when stacked correctly while loading.
Quality control is pretty bad at shodow systems, i work here in plano and few big gun shops around here have people that use to work at shodow systems, they all say stay away, i had one before i met these guys and it was bad, lot of failures.
My local gun shop won't take them on trade since there is no market for them
I call bullshit on both comments
Nice, but Stoeger and PSA, have comparable
Items at half the price.
Those are pos firearms
@@EverythingFilmmakingthis isn't any better
I would love to see a Glock 48 variant
They got one coming soon….
I mean they do the cr920p uses 48 holsters but I get you most likely mean that size without their comp. Could put a 48 slide on that frame gun broker you can find almost anything.
I agree , i still love my Glocks .
Item of note, the Glock 43x/48 accept the rmsc pattern without adapter plates.
I think this the striker fired for me.... Even thou im a 1911 guy🤗😍⚜️
38 tpc? What you think about?
Nice gun 👍👍👍
the ammo is 115gr Fiocchi, was it a typo error.
Still want Glock to make a 26x with a rail.
Ermox 9mm??
Why would they break compatibility with Glock mags??? I was interested until he said it can’t take Glock mags.
Because A business model so they make money off that also. And B due to the fact you can get a STOCK 15 capacity without making any changes. They are really good mags the one channel tactical something torture tested the mags and even with literal sand in them they worked. People have had issues (not me) with the shield arms mags. Again not me I only use those for my 48 and they have never had a single issue in my experience. They aren’t very expensive the shadow mags and are high quality. Not a huge issue if they are available for purchase. Like now you can find them. Once upon a time it was a daunting task to find extra mags. And it’s only for the cr920 models that don’t use Glock mags. However if you change the mag release you could use s15 mags in the regular cr920.
I still like the brand better only because they invented the design.
looks like a Glock, made in the USA 🇺🇸?
Did you call it the sig p320?
Ive had the original CR920 13rd for yrs.. Now I have to buy a new firearm just to get 15rd mag upgrade.
I seen in another review that the mags for the x fit in the 920. Im guessing someone will come out with a mag sleeve. That would make for some nice choices.
I couldn't find any 15 rd CR920 mag for sale so I purchased PSA micro grip $57 memorial sale and 1 shield arms S15 mag + 1 PSA 15rd mag works...
They just released them bought ten myself and they will be releasing may sleeves later this year. Per shadow systems email and statement.
And yes they work with the cr920 and the X version you will just need the sleeve that they release later this year for it to all be flush. But will obviously work without the sleeve right now.
SS should be glock mag compatible
Hated the 43x hype beast for sure. This is everything the block should have been.
Does anyone make a magwell for the cr920x yet?
Ermox??
Get you a 43X and then get you a stripped SCT43 frame and then install your OEM parts from your factory 43X. You’ll then have a very nice shooting 43X for around $500. You can thank me later!
I put a shadow system trigger in my PSA Dagger and it's a very good pull. I looked at a shadow system xr920 and the trigger was horrendous. A lot of fluff if you want to pay for it.
= Hey I think Massachusetts only allows 10 around magazines
Where is the safety?
Is the rail a true Picatinny?
No it wouldn’t be compatible with Glock holsters if they did that. This made it way easier to obtain correct holsters. As much as we would want 1913 rail they made the right call I think. Because it would be a huge hassle finding holsters for awhile especially when they released a new pistol we would be waiting months and months for said holsters.
Can it use G19 mag ?
No, it has a narrower frame/slide than a G19. Glock makes the 43 standard with a 10 round mag but companies do make 15 round flush fit mags that are "stagger stacked" instead of "double stacked" like most Glocks.
Looks like combat armory’s glock.
@sootch00 does it have the shitty Glock grip angle?
Glock: is that another me?
15 + 1 in the magazine... I don't think so. Only 15 in the magazine and one in the chamber. That I do believe.
How much is it
For the foundation models around 550-600 for the elite found them for around 700-800 all depends where you live and your local ffl online that’s the prices Ive found. I paid 750 for my elite cr920x
Stagger stack magazines are not more reliable than true double stacks or single stacks. They are more space efficient.
It's not a new concept. It's been around for a long time. But manufacturers and people put reliability over space efficiency in the past.
The reason for the extra spring pressure has nothing to do with the subcompact size. It is an attempt to overcome the unreliable nature of stagger stack magazine by overcoming the increased friction of the magazine design.
Glock will never likely sacrfice It's magazine design because it is the most reliable.
Stagger stack magazines may be reliable enough for most consumers in todays market, but it will never be the most reliable option.
Exactly...all capacity whores are sacrificing reliability
Shield mags make the gun malfunction. It will get someone killed if used for EDC
Why would you even use those when stock comes with 15 round mags?? And if you change the mag release the s15 mags for sure work bud
G26 is better than either in many ways!
The chode of Glocks lol. Nah the 26 is good but much thicker. Depends on each person to be fair. For a small skinny person might want the cr920 not the X and can get 13 or 10 capacity plus 1 in a 43 size frame. For a larger man like myself I can conceal a 19x and summer time I conceal my 48 or mr920 easily. Again everyone is different. For some the 26 may be too fat grip wise for some shooters to conceal. Not saying many but some would be more comfortable with a cr920 or 43. Again we want you to be comfortable so you are more likely to carry everyday. EDC meaning at least 270 days a year.
@@andybars8672I'm 6, 225, with XL hands. The G26 can be small or medium depending on what mag you use. The width eats recoil better. One gun to rule them all!
Neat for Glockoholics. Enjoying my slightly heavier 15rd Canik Meta MC9 for a few hundred less. :-)
Looks similar to Glock 43x
No it’s the Glock 43 sex
I sorta feel like Glock is really falling behind...
Another Glock comparison video? Why don't the reviewers just label the video as "shadow systems comparison to Glock"? HELLO?
In the end, just another 9mm, blindfold the vast majority of owners and they will never know the difference....
Sorry, $800 for what is essentially a G43X and they are using proprietary mags. A new G43X goes for ~$475. I'll pass.
You obviously don’t understand the difference between good guns and cheap guns. With that said. They need to figure out the premature lock back problem with this gun.
@@Berettaguy
I guess we all can't be as great as you.
@@stchman well if you think the Shadow systems guns are basically blocked and don’t understand the difference between them. have to be great to understand the simple things like that as a rule. The Shadow systems are far superior to block.
Everything you show and explain on this screams, "Why would anyone still buy a Glock?". Glock has become the pistol that you have to upgrade and modify immediately out of the box to get what it should be. Don't get me wrong, Glocks work, but it's like buying a Ruger 10-22, if you want a better trigger, better accuracy, you have to start the mod path. Can Glock build something that competes with the upgraded in features but not price guys? Maybe, to date we don't know, do we?
Huh?
There is no need to upgrade the glock..nothing fails on it as is from the factory.
Better accuracy? Straight out of the box my 43X MOS is 💯 on 🎯. No upgrade needed for EDC or anything else.
It is really a compact and handy weapon, but Glock is much better than this, but in terms of price, they are probably a little different, anyway, both of them are good, it depends on the shooter and the tester, what are the advantages of each.
Nice gun for 800 😢i can build one for 500 😁
Cap. You can’t build a Glock like this for anywhere near 800 you can’t even get their optic mounting systems anywhere else bud. If you know you know. You can direct mount almost any optic to it with the best screws in the game. Do research bud. Let alone the stipple the under cuts the stock 15 mags the window cuts the serrations having the rail. ( Glocks that are mos are around 600 new) so that means for another 200 you’d have to stipple add serrations add their optic syste…wait you can’t nobody can. Get stock… wait you can’t get stock mags…well damn even if you had all the money you couldn’t have those things. Keep lying to yourself though man.
Actually I do. I build them ..done 6 so far and still under 800 😅
Still has that Glock grip so a big nope for me
So you’ve held one or shot one? Go pickup a mr920 and it actually can be changed to a 1911 angle. Go try the item for yourself maybe?
**Making a Glock clone like it should be?!?
**Where is the ambidextrous controls?
**Built in binary trigger would also be spectacular!

A bit of logic unless one is just loaded...... I prefer a stock 43X no optic Or a smith n Wesson shield plus no optic, let's just be real, When and if you have to use your firearm
God forbid. You will have to relinquish the firearm to the department as evidence. A lot of times you don't get the firearm back or it takes a very long time to get that firearm back. So having a bronze this or a $500 optic on top a special piece that I wouldn't want to relinquish Just seems silly if you have to use your gun I promise you, you're not gonna be looking at no f****** optic Or even the sights you have on it. Trust me, you're gonna point and you're gonna shoot These frills are for people that have never been in real life situations
Dropping some knowledge I lived in the San Joaquin valley in the 90s between Fresno Merced, Modesto, Stockton I think I have some talking points here. I live in Arizona now 50yrs old and i'm telling you If you need a handgun with bells n whistles , you need a different firearm for the situation entirely but #SOOTCH100 still my fav youtube channel decade n runnin
You don't understand life
That’s the positive if you have to relinquish your firearm shadow systems will replace it with a new one. And if it’s close in a self-defense situation optics don’t matter, but once you get distance, red dots make a world of difference, especially for multiple targets and speed acquisition.
@mike34744 That's awesome good fyi thank you ......a lil advice your at that much of a distance it's gonna be a hard case to claim self defense🤣 I get what ya meant joking
GLOCK sued S&W but not these guys
Glock suede Smith & Wesson because their patent hadn't ran out yet
I always have to check to see if these are commiefornia compliant most of the time I’m disappointed
