When I were a lad, me and the old man would sit and watch Psycho work his magic. I'd then go out and practice free kicks with my left foot, that either smashed into next door's greenhouse or rolled lethargically into our flower bed 5 inches away. I've been away from mainland UK and Nottingham for a long time and I have to confess I haven't been to watch a Forest match in even longer, but this man has always been my football hero. He even made playing in defence something to aspire to! So I might just find my way back to the City ground next season.

I grew watching Stuart Pearce take free kicks with his left foot, I was always right footed predominantly but kept practicing on my left foot so it got the right balance and being able to smash it hard, I could and still do hit a ball as hard as possible just because of Mr P, My left foot was no where near as accurate. Best player for me of the 80's.
Better than Maradona was, Better than Van Basten, Guillit, Platini, Donadoni etc.

Not a Forest fan, but I'm old enough to remember the tail-end of Pearce's career. I remember him much more in an England shirt than in Forest's.
As a Football Manager player, though, these goals surprise me. I always had Pearce pegged in my mind as a Full-back Left(Support), but several of these goals suggest that he was acting as an Inverted Wing back on attack - which for a left footer in any era I would not have expected!

Next year we have a shot! who would your 1st 11 be? we have been playing without our whole defence for a huge chunk of the season but leaving excuses aside our 1st 11 are a match for anybody in the championship its the squad depth that has disappointed during the injury crisis! lots of good players just not doing it! am glad stuart is coming back and I think he will install a great mentality and what it means to play for Forest! and use his knowledge of up and coming players to get us there and keep us there which is of the most importance to me and Fawaz and everybody else who wants the club returned to where it belongs! btw never thought I would see the day but I am pleased Liverpool are closing in on the title at least they are a real club with real history! not like that lot!

James Crosby, I went to the game with a couple of UTD fans and was stood in the Stretford end behind the goal. Manc's had been on his back all afternoon.

That goal in the FA Cup final was brilliant...and should not have been allowed. Forest player wrestling last Spurs guy in the wall to the ground to give Pearce the gap. Maybe the shot would have gone over the wall, but it was a clear foul.
Love the accuracy, especially the FA cup final goal...which using VAR would have been ruled out.
