    Excellent Review 👍. Thanks for paying attention to the simplest things people'd be interested in but also going over the professional aspects of the machine.

    It's amazing how people tend to hate on Apple but Apple has inspired every single PC company in terms of design of their computers. Nobody was doing this style in Trackpad. And this thing just looks like a MacBook Pro. I mean honestly without the stickers I had to look twice. I thought I was looking at my own M1Max 16" MacBook Pro.

      Exactly, the body resembles Macbook Pro quiet a lot. It is the screen that tells that it's not a macbook

    Thanks for an excellent and comprehensive review of the product that I have been waiting so long from your channel😁. And does RTX A3000 12Gb performs similar level or better to RTX 3070Ti 8 Gb in Studio G9 ? Looking forward towards Fury 😊

    • @Dovecomputers
      @Dovecomputers  Před rokem +3

      A3000 12GB is comparable to RTX 3060. The A4000 16GB is similar to 3070. Personally the 3070 Ti GPU is a beast. 3080 Ti not worth the price jump. Fury G9 A3000 is coming! Just not enough time when one has a day job as well. 🤣👍

    How does this compare to the Dell XPS 17 (9720)? I like the 120 Hz, lighter weight, WiFi 6E, USB type A, and RGB keyboard on the Studio G9 but wonder if it's worth the price difference.

    • @Dovecomputers
      @Dovecomputers  Před rokem +2

      The Studio G9 has the better GPU options if you need it. I would argue that the Studio G9 has better cooling and personally a nicer keyboard than the XPS. Having said that the XPS range is fantastic. My twopence worth. 👍

      Thanks. Yes, I would say this would handle your workflow with no issues. The alternative is the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 5, this has a fraction more performance, but the fans are louder/chassis is hotter than the Studio G9.

    Can you comment on what display is better with UHD touch option, the 120hz HP or the 60hz P1 gen 5. All else equal, what would you pick if the only things that matters is screen likability for solidworks & video consumption.

    • @Dovecomputers
      @Dovecomputers  Před rokem +1

      Both touch options are top panels so not much in them. IMO, the P1 Gen 5 has a slight edge in performance but greater heat issues. Studio G9 is cooler running, and the speakers are superior.

      @@Dovecomputers my eyes are really bad(keratoconus/double vision) and prefer OLED iPhone screens. But when it comes to laptop, the closest is Mac with mini led. Since I use both Mac & windows simultaneously, I fear 60hz would be shooting in the foot jumping screen to screen. Between two different type panels. And HP OLED isn’t 4k+. The perfect option would have been p1g5 with 120hz OLED display in 4k+ resolution.

      @Dove Computer Solutions Ltd thanks you so much I was looking for concrete information since many articles said that zbook studio G9 this year was oled and 120hz--- "However, the heavy artillery of this model is the 4K 120Hz OLED panel with touchscreen support and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It also should cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut." From an article online. Now that you have given me proper information I have decided on the asus proart stuidio H7600 which is an oled 4k laptop that is 60hz but the same display can switch to 3200 x 2000 at 120 hz. It dual switching display buy would be nice to know how it works

    hi mate, I am considering the mobile workstation for my both working and personal purpose. there are 2 choices I would probably go for are thinkpad p1 and zbook studio. in your opinion, what is better choice? thank you.

    • @Dovecomputers
      @Dovecomputers  Před 11 měsíci

      To be honest, both are very good premium mobile workstations. Studio G10 and P1 Gen 6 have 13th Gen CPUs and 4000 series/Ada GPU's. The G10 runs a tiny bit cooler than the P1 which gets hot. The P1 G6 has the advantage of 96GB max memory and dual M.2 SSD slots (RAID 0/1 options). Currently reviewing the G10 i7-13700H, 4070 and 3000 Ada models, video out soon. Waiting to get my hands on the P1 G6 in the next few weeks for review.

    It’s so sad that there’s no competitive SOC system for Windows Notebooks. Just went for a Mac Book Pro, as my Lenovo X1 Carbon couldn’t handle photo editing. The Mac is nice, no discussion. But part of my paid work is on a Windows only software, and Windows 11 on Paralells Desktop is bad as hell!
    I do see the advantages of MacOS, but Windows is, for me, very reliable and really nice to use.
    I’m ready to spend what is necessary to have a computer that gets the job done… But this ZBook with only 3 hours of battery life. Seriously? Furthermore throttled when not plugged in?
    I’ll therefore have to bite the bullet and use mac + parallels for the coming years.

      @Nicolas Bianchi *" The Mac is nice, no discussion. But part of my paid work is on a Windows only software,"*
      What photo editing software that you use requires Windows? If it's not photo editing then what software are you referring to? I'm asking because 9 times out of 10 there's very little software that isn't on both platforms. Often people purposely stick with a Windows version of something like MS Office for example just because of the name and refuse to use any other alternative office softwares when there are plenty. This just isn't year 1999 anymore. People who use Linux seem to get along fine with far less commercially-released software available for it because they tend to use Open Source. With MacOS just about everything commercially-released runs on it unless some lazy developer decides to stay in the past, in which case nobody should be supporting such lazy developers if one allows them to dictate which computer platform they purchase and use.

      @@BlendingWithHenry Thanks for taking the time to answer me. Sadly, this doesn’t apply to memoQ, a Translation Memory based CAT tool (for professional translators). Both big players in the software field are on Windows only. MAC alternatives exist (WordFast Pro and CafeTran, but they have deal breaking limitations. And web based solutions, besides their limitations, are either buggy, or require you to “sell your soul” (your work ends up feeding automated translation AI, accelerating: translators using those solutions end up digging their own grave.
      I tried to use memoQ via parallels, but both windows and mQ act erratically. For all other software, I use either the official mac version or a valid alternative.

    Zbook G5 X360 offered 15 -17 hrs to run on single charge. On reality working only on google chrome it lasts 2.5 - 3hrs max ! This is the problem with all these heavy duty HP laptops ! I would prefer to even have a half kg heavier laptop with a battery that can deliver 6 hrs...but IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN WITH HP ZBOOK !
