He never stays long anywhere, that's my worry. If I were the Leeds chairman, the guy would have a job until he decides to retire (he is 65). Just give him whatever the heck he wants. He's no Mourinho. He won't ask for the moon and stuff the club can't afford. Just spend the promotion and TV money however Marcelo tells you to in order to improve the squad, and the rest can go into improving the club as a whole. Like the above comment says: don't fight him. In my book he's earned a contract until retirement.

Bielsa's formation is actually 3-1-3-3, but we play 4-1-4-1 when defending.
To be fair, under Bielsa we've played just about every formation, and sometimes several in a single game.
This was a good summary for those who haven't felt the pain first hand.

Hes not the richest (by far) but boy he really gets us. I actually dont want a soulless multi billionaire outfit to be in charge as they only care about their own interests. Radz is by his own admission a custodian of the club, but he acknowledges the fans as the heartbeat.

To be fair we had to put up with diabolical owners for 15 years. Kroenke is a poor owner but at least you’ve had European football and won trophies for most of his time just not the level you’re used to. Leeds fans have had league one football and even came close to being liquidated under Bates. It says a lot that I’d have preferred Kroenke over Ridsdale, Bates, GFH and Cellino!

When you REALLY love football as we do. Don't get me wrong, your other videos are great too, i will eventually watch every upload at least once.
I recently dusted off my old 2015 career and PS3 because i was bored. I run Nacional in your beloved Portugal. I just played the most thrilling match of that season. I'd be up for a more in depth video at Leeds under Ridsdale. The thinking behind it, the transfers, the results and the what ifs?
I always thought this was a reaction to Man Utd and how to beat their dominance, but badly thought out and executed.

Mistake at 12:45 - You said they finished first with a match to spare, when in fact we finished first with two matches to spare as West Brom and Brentford results between our 44th and 45th matches meant that we were already champions before the 45th match was played.

Leeds United are a unique club. From the Champions League to League 1 in 6 years. I can't imagine any 19/20 champions league team to go down to the 3rd division in 6 years. Maybe they'll return to the Champions league soon under Bielsa.

Worth mentioning that the £60m they borrowed was meant to build a new West stand at Elland road. They had planning permission to build way back. But Peter Ridsdale changed his mind. He then wanted to build a new 50k capacity ground on the other side of Leeds & thought he could get naming rights from a Usa company to pay for the whole stadium. Also if that could happen he could sell the land at Elland road. So he gave the £60m & more to David Oleary to spend spend spend. Most on players they didn't need. Of course the naming rights never happened so all the money was wasted. That's how they got in a money mess.

That club was cursed. Back in the day people thought they had one of the best young sides in the world. Kewell, Smith, Bridges, Woodgate and Robinson were all supposed to become big stars. To a lesser extent Bowyer and Hart were supposed to become much better than what they ended up as. Out of all of that young side the only one to have a world class career was Ferdinand. Keane did really well but never won a trophy. Most of the rest had their careers savaged by injuries. Bridges looked like the next great England striker in 99. Kewell basically had his pick of most of the worlds best clubs in 2003. When Woodgate was fit he was incredible wherever he went but was always injured. Robinson's form just seemed to fall off a cliff and Smith was probably the most overrated of the lot but still bagged a move to Manchester United when they went down. And then Riise murdered his leg.

As a Manchester United fan, I remember Leeds United were a top side lead by a South African captain Lucas Radabe. Lucas Radabe was a solid centre back for Leeds United and South Africa.
Too bad since 2002 they planned poorly and got relegated in 2004 after selling their best players like Rio Ferdinand, Harry Kewell, Jonathan Woodgate and James Milner due to poor finance.
Marcelo Bielsa revived Leeds United with a passionate owner. Missed out on promotion last season but came back to claim promotion with authority. Bielsa will take on great managers like Klopp, Guardiola, Mourinho, Nuno, Lampard and Arteta. Why Ole Gunner Solkjaer is not on the list? He is no where near good as Bielsa.

I genuinely think for most players, winning the play-off games in the EFL Championship to qualify for the Premier League would be more enjoyable, thrilling and fulfilling than winning any other competition aside from the World Cup.
Anybody agree? Or disagree? Think about it, winning the CL is an amazing satisfying feat, but it doesn't fundamentally change the level of your competition the following season, it doesn't suddenly promote you to the best league in the world, etc.
