Memories come flooding back ! What a great side we had then .Viduka was a class act
viduka was a class on his own
Brings tears to my eyes watching this, remembering how amazing that side was. MOT
I was there that night, what an atmosphere, we absolutely battered them 💛💙
What a night this was I think Anderlecht had gone 20 odd games without losing at home until we tore them apart :)
Only KAA Gent won at Anderlecht in the leaugue that year and they had to postpone their title party. They were already there with champagne lmao.
So yes, I guess Leeds was the first one.
@@potirdeand gent are not known for being as successful like anderlecht are
We?
That 3rd goal is sublime. What a team. LeedsLeedsLeeds.
If Smithy and Viduka were in our current side, we would have already been promoted. Class act those two. MOT.
Love leeds utd, since game vs spartak moscow(fan)
Respect to you mate
I was there absolutely brilliant performance when the camera goes into the Leeds fans I'm the one shirtless with the shirt round my head with my hat over it, don't know what the f**k I was wagging my finger at but bloody hell what a day ha ha ha
At what time?
No matter what we are LEEDS great days Mark Vaduka kept Leeds up there keep the faith
Viduka*
Viduka was top draw. We had him at his peak. 4 against Liverpool I hit the ceiling in my front room. Pure Class.
Remember these days well. Had a fabulous team then. Viduka was class
We all love Leeds
We still are Leeds !
You forget how close this squad came to being something special, then greed came in, big whopping wages, and a dip in form, then that was it finished, Don Revie would not have let this happen but the game has changed so much since his day, PITY
Loved Alan Smith as a striker. Broke me to see him play defensive midfield at other clubs.
I never understood that either what a waste of his talents and after he left Leeds he went downhill and he could of been an asset to the England team also had he been at the right club playing in his natural up front position
so agree wasted career by bad managers
Disagree. Smith, Kelly, Harte, Woodgate, Martyn, Robinson, Viduka, Radebe, Ferdinand, Mills, Bakke, Kewell, Mateo had their great Leeds careers stolen off them by incredibly bad and disgraceful financial management by the club directors…
This squad should of won everything. Team full of great kids and experienced talent…
When football was just a game. Lovelly
Love Leeds united,Alan Smith 17
I like Alan Smith.
What a game great days
Viduka , Alan Smith
I like how the keeper had two attempts to throw the ball in disgust after the second goal. Major fail 😄😄
Marching on together
Viduka was fucking class! So elegant.
god how far have we fallen.
Right. I really had hopes for this season but...
We’ll be back
@@LarsBosteen edging closer 🙏🏻
Viduka to Smith in the first goal: " here you are...you have just to score"
The best Leeds team ever
Well since 70s

PES commentary
I thought the Anderlecht fans going to leave in their droves after the 4th goal they conceded.
Was there much trouble before and after..
how did we let it all fall apart
I think at this point Leeds were massively in debt thanks to Ridsdale's over spending. They went out in the semi final to Valencia and had to finish top 4 to be in the CL again in order to recoup some of the money they had spent. They didn't manage to do that and it all went tits up within 2 years.
Clive Bindley Nah it was the next year that he overspent and that put us in jeopardy. This year we were extremely unlucky not to qualify for Champs League - we were edged out by Liverpool on the last day. 😩 The next year though he gambled signing Fowler and Johnson (we didn’t need either tbh) and they were both on high wages. The thinking was that they would secure qualification - it probably had the opposite effect if anything. Fowler was good, but we already had Keane as a striking option. We were top in January and playing well, but slipped to fifth with patchy form after Christmas. As a result we had to sell players to cover losses of two years without CL qualification.
@@ElliosoMukka Details, details. The point I was making was that with all the spending Leeds had to finish in a CL spot, and they didn't. So it was downhill from there onwards.
@@ElliosoMukka Selling Ferdinand was the death knell.
@@ElliosoMukka : David 'O Leary was the main reason we fell apart!!!
I thought leeds were going out in this group stage but i thought wrong. Lazio dissapointed me
Jean Tigana tried to sign Koller for Fulham the following season but the big guy failed the medical.. dodgy knees.
Like a m city today.. 🤔
Radzinski good partner for cola, but coca would be better partner.
We could have beaten them 5-1 6-1
Where was Harry?
He wasn't fully fit, only played the last 7 minutes. Lee Bowyer, Jonathan Woodgate and Robbie Keane were also out.
Lars Bosteen what a squad Leeds had in those days. One of the most exciting teams to watch I’ve ever seen.
Kewell was injured along with Wilcox, which is why Matteo played on the left wing.
It's better to win 4 1 than 4 0 because you dangle a bit of hope then snatch it away.
So its better to concede than not concede? Bullshit, try telling that to a top coach!
