ITC share price was almost stagnant for a decade, it has rallied significantly in the past 2 years. Secondly, I feel even if ITC does not sell cigarettes consumers will switch to other brands, There is also a huge share of illegal sales in the segment. It's better that ITC is selling the cigarettes as GoI gets taxes on it and illegal business is deterred.
