True. I made another save in my 2K24 universe mode just to draft the rosters based on the present. Excluding those that didn't make it to the base game, I've counted 48 for RAW.
It’s really stacked this year
The old man with AoP is Paul Ellering. Old school manager of the Road Warriors, one of the most badass (legitimately and kayfabe) tag teams of all time. Hawk and Animal were badass. Paul’s daughter Rachael is in Ring of Honor right now. She had a mostly developmental run in WWE a while ago now.
He also carried around a ventriloquist dummy for a bit.

A few background notes on some of the people:
Alba Fyre used to go by Kay Lee Ray and was NXT UK women’s champion for a good portion of the pandemic (649 days which iirc is the longest women’s title reign of the modern era). Very good wrestler. Her and Isla haven’t been given a lot to do since they got called up last year to main roster, where they lost their nxt tag titles to Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler immediately after arriving. Rough.
Akira Tozawa was brought in as part of the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic, a 32-man tournament for guys weighing 205 lbs or under. At the time, he was definitely one of the bigger independent names coming into that tourney. He made it to like the final 8 and had a couple of his best matches in wwe. He was also cruiserweight champion for a sec when that title was a thing. Kinda makes me sad that he’ll likely never be more than a comedy act cause he was low key a killer back then.
The Creed Brothers were fantastic and super over as babyfaces in nxt. They were both accomplished amateur wrestlers before pro wrestling and it’s crazy how good they are in the ring despite how new they still are to it. Their finisher is definitely terrible but tbh they’re still figuring it out and I’m sure they’ll get better with more experience
Small tidbit about the Becky Lynch hate: she’s pretty much in the spot John Cena was in the late 2000s/early 2010s. People rn would rather see younger talent get the title for the first time instead of having an established main eventer get a 10th title run. The sentiment is basically “oh god, her again??” When John Cena win’s his 13th world title, you kind of get sick of it a bit
Yeah, the Creeds are straight up incredible. This is the stuff people miss when they aren't watching NXT
Comparing Becky to prime Super Cena is absolutely ridiculous. It’s been over two years since she’s had a proper main event level title reign on the main roster. At least 90% of the hate is from toxic Liv Morgan stans who have no patience. It’s stupid and makes zero sense
Carlito came back as a one-off appearance last Backlash. He didn't come back full time until last October.

Its his most popular mic work by far. One of the most iconic WWE moments ever and it was so good it pushed him from the midcard to the main event.
They don't like Becky cuz they want Liv to be pushed and feel like Becky has had enough time in the spotlight. Very silly IMO, Liv will get her shot, but wrestling fans are impatient af when they think they know best. So Becky is taking the brunt of their overzealousness.

Pete Dunne criticisms are very fair, but back in 2017/2018 he was on fire in NXT UK. Def recommend his series of matches vs Tyler Bate, to me he's very underrated.

Dijak might be one of the most underrated wrestlers on the Raw roster. He is a 6ft 7 machine that can do it all he is a big man high flier. He used to do more high flying stuff back in his first NXT run but every once in a while he pulls out some old stuff. I recommend to watch his Takeover Portland match against Keith Lee, His Vengeance Day match against Wes Lee, his Battleground Match with Dragunov, and his Stand and Deliver match against Josh Briggs and Oba Femi. (Just some of my personal favorites of his but literally any match he has is great TV matches included)
Also I like your opinion on JD McDonagh. During his NXT UK run Shawn Michaels saw him as one of the reasons to watch NXT UK and always delivers in the ring. He's kinda booked to be the "little bro" of Judgement day right now so he takes all the offence and pins but I believe he is the second best in ring worker in JD after Balor. I recommend his Takeover UK matches against Balor and Tyler Bate (he went by his real name Jordan Devlin back then), the first Iron Survivor match at Deadline, the Halloween Havoc triple threat between him, Bron Breakker and Dragunov, and the Stand and Deliver NA title fatal five way.
Kairi is one of my GOATs but she has slowed down considerably over the past couple years. The intense physicality she’s experienced in her career has caught up to her, I think.
Her matches against Mayu Iwatani and Io Shirai (Iyo Sky) in Japan are amazing and I highly recommend.👍

To give a bit of info on some you’re not particularly high on or know much about
Akam and Rezar of the final testament are infamously one of the best tag teams in NXT history, they have a great in ring reputation behind them and were carried by Paul Ellering (the guy with the glove) to help their lack of mic skills or character, they sadly haven’t gotten much to do as they’re often over shined by Karrion Kross but I hope them and Ellering, who is a veteran in his own right, can succeed because they’re incredibly good especially for being particularly young
Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne are two icons of the British indie scene, hard workers since their teenagers years and even before they’re quite well renowned for being some of the best European wrestlers out there
Tyler Bate in particular has had 5 star matches in his early 20s, he’s the youngest singles champion in WWE history as he won the NXT UK title at the age of 19, which is ridiculous to think about
He’s put on constant classics against the likes of Gunther and the Undisputed Era (who are now in AEW) and is a top tier worker who still has over 2 years left in him
Pete Dunne is also really good, even being trusted to produce all the amazing speed matches we’ve been getting lately, setting up a bright future
Akira Tozawa is a really impressive in ring worker who sadly hasn’t been able to shine much in WWE, this Alpha Academy stuff is probably his best work yet, you thankfully missed when he was dressed up as a ninja because stereotypes
Ilja Dragunov is my personal pick for the best wrestler in WWE today, even more then Gunther, that’s all you need to know, he’s fantastic
The Becky hate mainly comes from a lot of moments where some fans feel she took the spotlight from others but personally I disagree, it’s not like she books the shows and after all she is a really reliable talent to work with, at one point she was even the most popular wrestler, heavily carrying WWE in 2019
The Creeds are also great! I don’t know why you think the Brutus Ball is an unsafe move I really don’t think it is but to each their own, they’re fantastic wrestlers with Julius especially being a standout, sadly though I do agree that their personalities are lacking heavily
The reason you don’t know who Odyssey Jones is would be due to the fact that he has literally not had one televised WWE main roster match ever, he’s been on RAW for over a year and still hasn’t appeared on TV, which is really really funny
Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro of the LWO are again, another example of great in ring workers who don’t have much else going on with them, thankfully though they had some time to shine in NXT in the past few months
Also fun fact about Joaquin, he isn’t even Latino! He’s Asian
I think since I already wasn't feeling the creed brothers, seeing the Brutus ball land on Damians head made me not want to see it again lol hopefully it gets better for me

This is literally the match that made me stop watching wrestling
I thought Dijak was going to be a huge star back in 2015 when he won the RoH Top Prospect tournament but he hasn’t done much. To put that in perspective…Damien Priest (as Punisher/Punishment Martinez) won the 2016 Top Prospect tourney and Ivar (Hanson at the time) beat his tag partner Eric (Raymond Rowe back then…they were called War Machine in the pre-WWE days) in the final of the 2014 tourney.
Raw definitely has the better wrestlers in terms of in ring ability
Becky being always at the top now and people getting sick of it is hilarious, since she got over due to never being at the top and the fans kept supporting her until she became the biggest star in the whole company.
I am going to tack onto another comment about Otis winning Money in the Bank. This was at the beginning of the pandemic and the set up was at the WWE Building where everyone starts on the first floor, the women in the lobby and men in the gym and work their way up to the roof where the briefcases are. It was fun. It included Asuka, Carmella, Nia Jax I believe, AJ Styles, Baron Corbin when he went by King Corbin, Daniel Bryan. I thought it was fun and creative because no live events could be done at the time where it really the beginning of the pandemic and people could not go live.
Hiya! (this is exquisite whimsy from twitch) If you have time, definitely go back to the Baron Corbin/ Bron Breakker tag team matches in NXT. There's some really great matches and I wish they had the tag team belts longer. I'm not a fan Dijak, but definitely go back and check out his feud with Joe Gacy. Considering all of the rumors of Gacy being a part of Uncle Howdy coming back, it might be a good idea to check out those matches no matter what.

I liked Otis as Mr. Money in the Bank personally, he was fun, he had a custom briefcase like a lunchbox, and he was just a fun guy, it was looking like he may have if he ever did cash it in, it would have been on the Twg titlea, because he didnt want to leave his buddy and tag partner Tucker behind, as Heavy Machinary had never won a main roster tag belt, since being on main roster. Howerver he got into a feud with The Miz, who won the brief case off of him, and cashed in on Drew, at Elimination Chamber, with help from The Hurt Business (Bobby Lashly, Cedric Alexander, Shelton Bengermin, and MVP) because he made a deal with them that they would get a title shot for Bobby, which they inacted on the next Raw after EC, and Bobby won his first world title thanks to that.
One last thing, at this time Otis was super over also, one of the more belovied fan favorites, had a great match in the tag team EC (the one that was the year prior, not the Drew one) and had the most popular story at the time with the Mandy Rose romance, leading to a feud with Dolph Zigler culminating at Wrestlemania Night 1, where he won, and got the girl, despite Dolph being a jerk, along with Mandy's tag partner Sonia Davile. Great story from that year.
Interesting point about Pete Dunne, he produced some of the Speed segments. Wrestling prodigy since he was 12.

Oh snap - Katana Chance history! Her name is Kacy Catanzaro and she was the first woman to complete a qualifying course/ make it up the warped wall. She was a Junior Olympic and NCAA gymnast. I was a major fan of her from American Ninja Warrior days.
I'd like for Kayden and Katana to work with Naomi just because of the rave/glow vibes.

If you wanna get a feel for how Punk is in ring now I would recommend checking out his match against Samoa Joe at AEW all in in 2023. One of the best matches of the year imo and his final match in AEW.

Liv Morgan is a Star and a sweetheart. One of the finest women on earth. Her promos aren't top tier, but she's gotten so much better in-ring the last few yrs. She deserves another title run.

The Creed Brothers were part of a heel faction in NXT called Diamond Mine which was an MMA style gym with very uniquely produced promos and backstage segments. I must admit they were the background guys. The least interesting part. The henchmen. Roderick Strong was the big singles guy and their manager Malcom Bivens (Stokely Hathaway in AEW). Both are in AEW now. You might have vibed with that more but that's why they look like that. Maybe the Creeds needed more time in NXT.
NXT seems to spend more time to present their characters differently outside the ring.
If you are a character guy and a JD McDonagh guy you might have liked him better in NXT. He had this creepy surgeon-like character who had his own unique presentation in backstage segments. I don't like him as a Judgement Day Henchmen. I think his unique character got lost as an unimportant body in the faction. He needs spotlight as an individual so main roster fans can get into him.
Some of these ppl are not on Raw roster. Jimmy Uso & Roman are on Smackdown...not complaining just something i noticed.
When AOP were in NXT a few years back they were world beaters, idk what happened other than the fact that they haven’t really been involved in anything meaningful.

Wrestling fans are like that lol. They super love the wrestler when they're chasing the title but once they won it, Fans will super hate them them as soon as the following week, which is happening to Cody right now.
The Becky Hogan thing comes from an old scar from a few years ago where Bianca Belair won the title at Summerslam and Becky returns, they have a match that lasts 26 seconds and Becky walks off with the title. I don't think it's a valid criticism, but people are a little bored with Becky winning the title over and over, they wanted to see someone new with the title. Even though I think Becky was 100% the right call to win a vacant title off a battle royal.
I disagree with the Creed brothers. I think they're fun to watch in the ring, especially Julius. Their gimmick could use some tweaking though.
My favorite right now is Chad Gable. I hope he wins MITB. I don't think I can ever boo him. I really want him to beat Gunther someday. Gunther being my other favorite.
I still can't believe I got to see gable vs gunther at a house show. Fantastic.
Dijak vs Keith Lee on NXT - worth a watch. baffling how the senile old man could mess up both of their main roster runs. the Creeds have a bad finisher and are a bit bland, but solid in the ring otherwise, maybe with master Gable we could get something. hoped Ilja would dethrone Gunther after WM, their two previous matches on NXT UK were some of the best in the last decade.
The way Samantha says Ludwig Kaiser is such a ear worm for me. It sticks with me all week.

As a writer, I don't think you're right about villains can't understand that they're the bad guy because one that's too stringent of a rule to be true.. Becky kinda became a major heel to me. Hear me out. I can see liking her with the whole firey, scrappy, red head, Irish thing she has going. My issue is her in ring work is absolute trash. She'll talk all kinds of smack about how tough she is and how she's the best then be trash in the ring and still win the match and continue on with the same thing. If you disagree name one manhandle slam this year that looked even remotely believable.
Seth Rollins has been my favorite male wrestler for the past decade, and Becky is my favorite female wrestler of all time, so I’m always rooting for them.
I also think it’s pretty neat that both my favorites ended up together and had a family 😂

About Drew: I hate Scottishness as a gimmick bc as a Scot it's really cringey to me and makes it hard to warm to Scottish wrestlers. HOWEVER, as soon as Drew turned fully heel I was so on board, I love him now, especially during his Punk feud.

I am a Becky fan and I dont want her to be champion. She's had plenty of time on top and the more spotlight she gets, the more worn out it is. Same as Charlotte Flair and John Cena for a while there.

I don't like Punk at all. I was never obsessed with the guy i thought the pipebomb was cool at the time but i felt that about a bunch of guys. Because of everything that happened in AEW and the backstage problems in every company he'd been in up to that point, he comes off like his gimmick is rooted him being an overgrown edgy teen. He looks like he belongs in the stands and looking back the pipebomb was just edgy jaded fan stuff. Anyone could done that. When i look at cm punk i don't see a larger than life character like Rock, Austin, Hogan, Piper or even Cena. II don't anything in him that warrents people being obsessed with his every move. He's just some guy.
