Great video: well edited, clearly spelled out. My only concern would be the neutral->ground bonding that I assume happens within the backup battery unit while the cord is connected. As you likely know only one neutral->ground bond can exist, at first point of disconnect. With two bonds, you can end up with objectionable current flowing in the ground wire which can be a safety issue.

Certainly a valid concern. It is my understanding that the power station inverter is not bonded. I know most of the hybird inverters I have been testing have not been. However, I will definitely reach out to Oupes and any other Power Station manufacturer that I hook up to this transfer switch. Great point 👍🏻

I'd be curious to hear which makes/models you can confirm are separate or separable - I'm seeking out a split phase unit myself but it'd be nice to know of a 120V version also. I just took a look at Oupe's site, I didn't realize this was marketed as a home backup solution (and I see they advertise that Reliance transfer switch mated to it), so that is a little more assuring. However I see nothing in the operation manual to say one way or the other (maybe they have a separate installation manual?)

You got my brain cells swarming. I might need to make a video on this topic if I find that some are bonded and others are not. Important information for everyone to know.

@@JustinsProject haha! If indeed bonded one solution is a transfer switch that switches the neutral as well. It would essentially just feed a small subpanel used as a backup loads panel.
