    Noticed that Ash, whilst proving dead, applied probe first to the line terminal, (5.46), leaving the other probe waving around. If the circuit were not dead, there would then be a voltage present on the unattached probe, so wouldn't it be wiser to place first probe onto earth and the second to each of the lives in turn?

      Very good observation, you are correct, it is much better to go onto the cpc first,

    Nice little vid. Made me chuckle though as you criticised the DB you took out as being an unknown brand then replaced it with a DB from Live Electrical. The original DB was a Lewden branded Controlgear Direct.

      So originally we were fitting a fusebox but this is on back order from them for 8 weeks, but we were able to provide SPD and a decent link out atleast lol

      Was gonna say not helped it with that board lol. Could use nice Hager.
      Also fitting TP+N board was a bit of a waste wasnt it. Supply cable 2 core only?
      Could have just put on Single phase board....
      What size was the supply cable? Unless it was 25mm armoured i fail to see the point of 25mm tails extending it into the board...

      @brightsparkmid  Před 9 dny +2

      25mm SWA
      Customer wanted it to be a like for like size etc, we did what was asked,
      All well and good fitting Hagar but not when it was priced in fusebox/equivalent

      Fair dos if it was 25mm SWA. Looked smaller in the vid.
      As for board, just price Hager to start with😊
      Switch room upgrade will be nice job.

      @peterigrenyi9176 trust me they are tight 😂 I don’t like Hagar anyway, they make fake AFDD’s and have always been stupid money for no reason until smaller brands started to wash them out check out Dave saverys Chanel about the AFDD issue

    Good job lad. Why would you replace it with a tpn board when it only has a single phase supply ? A lot of expense for three single phase circuits.

    With the Exel range I open the isolator and visually check total isolation.

      You can, but the lad was using part of this for his portfolio so had to do it this way

    When drilling be aware no metal shards drop into any breakers or anything it can cause issues or potentially be dangerous if possible use the hoover to prevent it or turn it on the side and drill n clean out. Pal

    • @brightsparkmid
      @brightsparkmid  Před 15 dny

      No breakers in at the time for that exact reason.
      All hovered out prior to power up

  • @fionanoeljakebalzan7244

    The 7th hole in each earth bar could be used to bridge the 2 earth bars together

      There is others labeled B for this, even if they were used for that it would be out of sync of the positions still

    Basic 1st step of drilling a hole even with a speed bit like Ashley used, is to DEBURE THE HOLE !!
    I NOTICED that it WASNT DONE. AS HIS IMMEDIATE BOSS , AND FILMING IT ASWEL, I THOUGHT THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN PICKED UP STRAIGHT AWAY , BUT I WAS WRONG AND DISAPPOINTED AND SAD TO SEE !! Ashley 1 word of advice from someone that has been an ELECTRICAL ENGINEER FOR 40 years, BUY YOURSELF A DE-BURRING TOOL. THEY ARE NOT EXPENSIVE, BUT GIVE YOU THE SATISFACTION OF A CLEAN HOLE FOR APPLYING A STUFFING GLAND !!

      @brightsparkmid  Před 17 dny +1

      Found that the fine tooth of the armeg bits require virtually no deburing when complete, they are a great tool I agree but only really use them when the big set of hole cutters come out,
      But I take it on board and hold my hands up, yes I should probably be less complacent and ensure all holes are de buried,
      Thanks for your feedback
