I was born in 1992 so my first console was the ps1 in 1997 when i was 5 years old i didnt get a ps2 until Christmas 2002 with final fantasy X and GTA vice city the ps2 made me the gamer i am today :) so many memories playing local multiplayer games with friends from star wars battlefront 2 and champions of norrath and SmackDown here comes the pain.. it also brought JRPGs into my life I'd tried final fantasy 8 on ps1 in 99 and hated it but final Fantasy X made me get into the genre and i later went back and played through 7 and 9 "thanks backwards compatibility" :D i could go on about the memories i have with the system but i think you get the point 😂

Edit: I would also like to add I'd highly recommend going with a phat ps2 and running games from the hard drive instead of USB load times are a lot faster in fact USB is actually slower than the disc drive haha
PS2 is hands down the best!!! My favorite game is still Vice City. But ps2 also had great fight games. Well done, man!

This console was truly the one that got me into gaming. Especially the TR reboot series from Crystal Dynamics. So many memories, I can't count them all

I recommend the fat model SCPH-39001. It is the most reliable out of the 3 fat models.
I never had the chance to own a playstation 2 when I was a kid and I really wanted one recently I started to play Gran Turismo 4 emulated on PCSX2 an oh boy it was a blast I downloaded more and more iso files of old PS2 games and played them with the emulator then about a week ago I bought a Fat PS2 along with a good selection of games + Dualshock 2 from facebook marketplace sale it just feels so damn good actually owning & playing with the real thing. And the games are just amazing I don't know how to describe it but they feel like they have a 'soul' unlike most of the modern games (no offense) that I just got tired playing...(if that makes sense) If someone is planning to get one and can find one for a good price go ahead you won't regret it

I still have my PS2, and my Dreamcast systems. I will always regret getting rid of my PS1 system and the games I owned. The last system I bought was the Xbox 360, the systems have just gotten so expensive and the games are (yikes) really expensive. Prefer to get my gaming on with Steam, and of course Retro gaming.
Easily the best console ever. The absolute standard by which all other consoles need to live by. My favorite game of all time is Max payne

I gave up on modern gaming during the PS3 era because of all the nonsense that started to happen. There are more than enough PS1 and PS2 games to last my lifetime, and they will always be playable in the future. It is the only gaming system I need.
When my PS 1 died and i saw 3 beautiful japanese women advertising for PS 2, I am very sure it is very valuable to buy because it have better graphic than PS 1 games that looks so ugly. Now PS 2 console died july 2023 since july 2005(18Years) and i using PCSX2 to play all my PS 2 games convert to iso files(AMD 4600G). Elite old gamer have spoken.
I prefer Nintendo ds, psp, ps vita. Because it doesn't have cooling fan, low electricity and powerful. Better games. Wii is good too.
