Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This CZcams channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

Thanks for teaching us to not strangle our shaft and keep our balls clean Rick ❤
Lmfao
Instructions unclear. Strangled my balls.
He also taught us to line our head up with the tuft 😂
Ole Ricky Clean Balls
Don't forget about gripping down
Beginner golfer - that 8 iron tip was absolute GOLD. Tried it out in my round yesterday and ended up sticking with it for the whole 9. Probably best short game I've had! Such a handy little shot.
I use a 7, but I use a 7 for everything
@@xx-hs6coI find I don’t get as much control with the 7 so I’ve gone with the 8.
Rick should watch this video, I think it will transform his game...
💀💀💀
So says the man who breaks 75 every time he plays. He just quit when he takes 74 strokes, usually early in the back nine, no doubt
@@leonardhandzlik6008 Well done you! Someone needed to defend Rick and you proved to be 'da man'. Kudos. Maybe one day Rick will see your staunch defence and chuck you a 💌. Hope it works out for you...
Great video, Rick. You have a rare talent for communicating golf instruction/tips simply and effectively. I wish you'd produce more clips of this nature.
Should take his own advice during break 75
You gonna build a course on your ranch?? 🤷♂️😂
You’re such an awesome teacher!! Thanks again for all that you do to help high handicappers such as me
I shared this with my family golf group because these are perfect tips for everyone. Even if you have heard this before, this video reenforces good techniques in golf and helps us avoid bad tips that everyone gets all the time.
Rick thanks for the shaft handling tips. You are great with tips. Good job.
Amazing tips as always, and great reminders too! Thank you
I used the ball line yesterday, and nailed a 7 foot putt. Happy Bogey.
I’ve been struggling with my golf game but this video definitely seems to help can’t wait to test it out!
Wow - thanks for the flashback! This was an almost word-for-word flashback to 40+ years ago and what my high school golf team coach would constantly tell us. He was a good guy, and I'm still using most of these tips!
Thanks Rick! Keep up the good work!
Hopefully he shows us how simple they are in the next Break 75😂😂
😅
“Do as I say, don’t do as I do” 😄
Unlikely 😂
I see the circus is in town…4 clowns with jacka$$ comments.
Rick couldn’t break a kitkat
Appreciate the tips as always Rick!
Tip #5 is the greatest!
You're the best! Thanks!
Great tips. Your chipping tip has helped me. The one you said to have the toe in the wedge and it pop's out. Fantastic. 👍
Love the animations and video ad ons 😅👏🏼
If you want work towards a lowering your handicap. These tips from Rick are a must!! The only lessons I’ve had is Ricks CZcams videos over the last 5 years and I’m playing off a single figure handicap! Great video Rick. This will help many golfers improve their game!! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
that is impressive man
Yes, I agree with you. This video is really helpful to me, and I will share it with my friends because these are perfect tips for everyone. I think the first technique is pretty useful. Before when my ball is near the green, I usually use a lofty club to hit the ball. But sometimes my ball can’t land properly, it is always far away from the hole. I think if I meet this position after, I can try to use 8 iron to hit the ball as he did, try to let the ball land on the edge of the green, and let the ball follow the slope to the hole. The third important tip for me: use the golf balls logo or draw a line on the ball. Putting is my old disease, and I am struggling with my alignment for a long time. This video helps me a lot, after watching I use his technique to use the brand of the ball to find the line, and it works. I can feel my putting is better than before.
Thanks for the reminders, always helpful.
Hi Rick. It's great to see you doing tutorials again. Last year, I straightened out my slice with 4 of your videos and gained about 80 extra yards on my drive. BRAVO, my friend. Peace.
Thanks for the tips Rick. I’ll give them a try next tm out!
Sticky Rick always always coming with the goods, please do another clog competition with Pete and Matt like the old days! That is the content which made you famous, bring it back to the heart and soul, we would all love to see it! ❤✌️
And number 10 -
Remember it's just a game. Worst case scenario, you've got yourself out of the house for a few hours and knocked around with your mates, putting the world to rights, checking in with each other, getting a few things off your chest and off your mind. You've also likely dodged or put off some chores while you were out! Best case, you've smashed a few wondrous strokes out there too, and will remember them later on, and give yourself a smug little pat on the back!
As I say, it should be fun. Don't forget that, and you won't go far wrong.
This, this might just be the most important one. Well said
Love all the tips videos coming into the new golf season. Editor does a great job videos also.
Great tips Rick. Let’s see them in use soon!
Thank you Rick, i made sure to save this video. We are done here in the Northeast in NY for the golf season. Will be gong to Myrtle beach in a few months. Will make sure to use this golf tips. ❤
Your bump and run advice was one of the most impactful on my game. Without doubt it has lowered my scores and I actually often have a chip in doing this. My biggest question is, why don't we see you doing this more on Break 75????
Ironically he never does that when he’s playing, always goes for the putter.
@@raynman67 I think the putter's almost always preferable on a tightly mown curtain - is he saving the bump and run only for when he has rough in front of him that absolutely has to be carried?
Love it Rick, can't wait for this weather to break in the Midwest in the US, need to get my golf fix, outdoors!!!
Brilliant!!!!! Tips Bud... Thanks!
I actually learned the 8 iron tip from a lower handicap player, and as you mentioned in another vid, "Don't be afraid to play with better players!!"
Appreciate these tip videos Rick. Keep up the good work.
This video is amazing! All perfect tips for me, and it will going to be a big boost for lowering my handicap . Thank you make this video!
Rick I watched a video earlier today on swing path and today I shot an 81 which breaks my personal best by 5 strokes. Thanks for making these videos.
Thanks for this Rick I need all them tips. Love the videos please keep up the good work
Loving the course tips Rick
I applied the bump & run tip to a ball in the trees, and did a similar concept with my driver. got me out of trouble very nicely, when a more lofted club would have both hung up in the branches, itself, and put the ball up into the branches.
Tip number 5 applies to both on and off the golf course. Thank you Rick!
Thanks for the tips Rick. I’ll give them a try next time out.
Totally agree Rick well said
Great video Rick. Please do more like this. I'm new to the game and found this excellent.
Always look forward to the next rick shiels video!
For tip #1, the 8 iron can be fine but even better/more consistent is to learn the Runyan method/rule of 12 to determine the best club to use around the green. It works like an absolute charm though in some situations you do need to adjust and make it based on 11 or 13 depending on your club lofts and course conditions.
These are some of my favorite videos. Thanks Rick!
Loved this video Rick 👍🏼 appreciative always
I've started focusing on tip #9 and it's really helped my mental game which helps my overall game
I've been waiting for this for ages! Rick!!!
I love these kind of contents Rick, I’m not a great golfer, I’m usually in the 90s so any advice is good advice
Awesome! Thanks Shields. Love your videos and I’ll take all the advice I can get!
Another great vid Rick...keep the content coming 👍🏻
As I am getting into the golf game much later in life I take lessons. First thing my instructor noticed and we corrected was my grip. Yep. I was strangling the club. I went a month at the range with a much more relaxed grip and gained accuracy, distance, and even on fat shots they at least got the ball to travel better. Thanks Rick. Great tips. Have a great day sir!

Fun & memorable! Great tips, Rick!
Great video Rick. Play most of my golf at my local 9 hole course. After watching your 9 simple tips yesterday, broke 40 this morning for the first time. Could have been even better if I hadn't had a double bogey on the 9th. Cheers
Another great video with really good tips. … I love the edits to the videos. Someone is very creative and has a good sense of humor.
Some of them are more novice tips, but when it comes to the chipping and sand shots, that is short game stuff that everybody can use. I personally have recently embraced the putting stroke with the short iron for chipping. It definitely works, especially on a tight lie or wet turf.
Thanks for the tips Rick!
Thank you for the tips Mr. Shiels
a few years back i switched over to putting a line on the golf ball. what a game changer. drastically improved my alignment on putting. and when you see it roll end over end you know instantly if u hit a good put or not.
Loving the on course vids but great yo see an old skool Rick golf pro vid 👌
Thanks you Rick , solid advice 👍🏼
The editing on this was amazing, great video Rick!
Love it great reminders!
Great to see James on the channel again. Brilliant golfer and all round top fella
Thanks Rick, a lot of tips that you showed us I Already use. They really help.
Thanks Rick great tips again. I should have tried some of these last Saturday.
Great video, thanks for the tips!
Editing was even more on point than usual 🔥🔥
Excellent thankyou Rick, from Canada. 👍
Brilliant match and enjoyed every hole
Rick, I miss the days of old. I love these videos. Break 75 are awesome but these reminder videos are more helpful!!
I love these advice videos
Started golfing in the 1st wave Tiger era, sputtered a bit, back 'all in' during the pandemic.
The biggest difference I notice on courses when playing w/ newer golfers ... putting from off the green. It's a smart play most times and I chalk it up to them being influenced from watching Rick Shiels videos. 👍👍👍
Love this Rick!
I'm new to golf. Thank you Rick. Think your videos will help me improve to where I can enjoy the game how I want to.
As always good advice, thanks.
Hi Rick . . . Thanks for the tips. I used several of them last monday and had my best round of the year 92. This year goals are to break 90 and then 80 . . Have a great week.
Did you break 90 yet?
@@ChillnPlay yes, a couple of times :D
Rick you are amazing ! I wish I could play a round with you some time when you are here in Florida ! My initials are RS ... coincidence ? maybe ..LOL love your videos !
Great simple tips, thanks very much
Knowing that Ricky is the best I really like all the tips he has given and that it's been helping me out !
Can we just give some love to the editing on this whoever is doing it has absolutely dominated this past year made the videos 100% more enjoyable (not that they weren’t before but you get my point)
I can't wait to try this
Great content as always Rick, nice comic book graphics!
Good evening Rick I just wanted to say thank you for all your tips. My golf game has really improved over the last couple of months. All because of your helpful advice and tips. I had a question regarding golf tee selection. I’ve been want to try the pink castle tees you mentioned, but I was wondering what size do you recommend? I’ve seen some 2 1/4 and 2 3/4 I’m not sure one witch one to get. By the way I really enjoy you content keep up the great work. Thank you again
Thank you 😊
Number 6 is definitely the best advice for new and beginner golfers. Finess and speed trump strength in golf.
I love your stuff man 😊😊
Tip number 2 is a game changer. Depending on your game beforehand you can shave off like 10 strokes on 18 holes
That was a brilliant video and a good match. ⛳️⛳️
Love this Rick 😊
Watched your bump and run video years ago. Has shaved so many strokes off my game. You’re the man, Rick
Great video! Now to take it to the course.
Thanks Rick!
Got an old spice add right on the clean your balls bit. Brilliant.
Thanks mate !
Tip number 2, I use all the time. With number 1, I prefer the putter over an 8 iron, have more control even going thru some thicker grass.
TIP #5 - useful for so many other applications. ❤😂
Great stuff!
I played golf a few days ago after taking a 2 month break and everytime I needed to chip the ball I messed it up horribly so I'm definitely going to try the bump and run strat next time. Keep up the great vids!
Really great reminders here! Thanks Rick. Needed the refresh. 😊

I like the tee selection.... I am not consistent when I tee up! Thanks
Thanks pal!
