  • Husqvarna 701 Fuel Dongle is a top 5 quick things you should do to your Husky 701 or KTM 690 right away. Cheap and easy, it solves the lean fuel mixture from the factory. Gone is the slight off-idle hesitation and in its place is a nice steady crisp response every time you twist the throttle. In this video I chose to leave the O2 sensor in place because I will be experimenting with other solutions over time. And certainly there are more robust solutions to improving fuel mixture throughout the rev range. However, this Rottweiler Performance Husqvarna 701 Fuel Dongle requires just minutes of your time and is one of the quickest DIY mods you will do to your bike...and it works.
    Obviously the install on this Rottweiler Performance Husqvarna 701 Fueling Dongle is the same for the KTM 690 enduro and GasGas 700.
    You can find Rottweiler's fueling Dongle on their website at the following link:

    (Note: according to Rottweiler Performance this part will not work on 701/690 EU Models from 2021-2023)
    I hope this video is helpful, I'm always delighted to get your questions comments and feedback.

    Thank you for focusing on precisely how the electrical connector disconnects. That was very helpful since it isn't obvious what you need to do to get the thing apart.

    I added one of these to my '23 701 Enduro with a Yosh can at the same time, this helped the low end and part throttle response. The easiest to relate to example of this is the stock painfully lean 14.7:1 target AFR fueling didn't want to pull off idle and it had to be revving a bit to pull a tall gear - didn't like to take 6th gear much below 55 MPH.
    Then I added a Power Commander 6 with Rottweiler's map on it and holy crap! Now we're talking! The bike is mental now, running like a big high tech thumper should, with stupid power everywhere 😂
    Fuel economy is still just fine. Actually it is better than it was stock, as I changed the gearing, which I'll get to. Raw extra power aside, it will also smoothly accelerate from 35 MPH in 6th with no complaints if you ask it to, which wasn't happening with the stock fueling. The low end and mid power are much improved as is throttle response, and it rips past 100 in no time. Rottweiler has a really good video on their site about how the dongle works and how it teams up great with their mapped Power Commander.
    There is so much more power I actually geared it up from 15/46 to 16/45, which really gives it legs on the road. The quickshifter works better with the longer gearing too. When running right these big thumpers just wanna pull a load and do wheelies. The taller gearing made 2nd gear power wheelies really nice!
    Oddly enough, I like it better off road with the taller gearing as it was between 1st and 2nd a lot, now 1st suffices for normal tighter trails and the sweet clutch and mondo power handle it no problem, it barks hard off idle now and the longer 1st puts it down better in the dirt. For reference sake, I also ride a KTM 300 XC and occasionally race B class, so I'm fairly aggressive off road.
    The cannon length Yosh RS-4 can is great by the way, no DB killer but it isn't too bad sound wise if taking it easy, and the tone is deep and smooth with no DB killer/cork induced "chuffiness". Run it hard and ya, it is the brappiest thing ever and sounds like the world is ending. It is perfect!
    Another great mod on this bike is heavier fork springs. The stock rear shock spring is .72 and the fork springs are .59 kg/mm. I put .65's in mine and the front end is much more balanced with the rear. Not sure what the LR bikes come with but with that big tank ya need some fork springs in there...

      Wow...sounds like the PC6 makes a huge difference. I'm definitely going to install the PC6 during the off season to try it for myself. Thanks!

      this was fun to read, as a 701 owner I chuckled to myself at the thought of extra 'stupid power everywhere' :D So far I've enjoyed the bike offroad no issues and also getting daily joy out of ripping that throttle around the city!

    Installed mine for KTM 690 2022 euro 5 bike , it's pretty smooth now for lower rpm . Noticed the different, gonna bring it for off road to test the mode 2 riding mode

    Just installed one from Fuel dongles in Spain myself, on my 2021 EURO5 bike. Made a huge improvement on the throttle response, which prior to adding the o2 dongle was very jerky. Can’t say I noticed any increase in torque down low, but the bike is already way too powerful 😁

      @dualsportgarage  Před 2 lety

      Thanks, I agree totally…noticeably smoother… Way better in technical off-road single track especially! Love this bike! Have a great riding season!

      @@dualsportgarage The jerky throttle response paired with the heavy engine breaking of this monster of an engine really did make things jerky during technical offroad! A lot better now. Thank you and likewise sir!

    @dual sport garage If you have been running an 02 eliminator plug & have left the 02 sensor installed and unplugged in the exhaust & ridden the bike for sometime the 02 sensor can be damaged & will not work correctly. So. I wouldn't leave it connected. There are available screws to purchase and cover the 02 sensor.

    • @dualsportgarage
      @dualsportgarage  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi yes I have the screw but I will be reattaching the sensor shortly and installing the “Booster Plug” to compare it’s effectiveness compared with the fuel dongle.

      Hi Brent, I have not noticed any appreciable change in mileage. I'm typically getting mid to high 50's (miles per US gallon) for most of my riding...of course, I'm not including when I spend the whole day riding tight woods pretending this thing is a KTM 300...so fun...hard to resist! :)

      @@dualsportgarage Interesting. I fitted the 02 Controller dongle to my 2021 701 and I had a huge decrease in economy. I spoke to the manufacturer and he said he has only seen this with 2021 models (not earlier ones). I've temporarily removed it because I need the full tank range for many of my rides.

      @@dualsportgarage Look forward to your findings. Also as a matter of interest a mate of mine on a 2021 Husky 701 was experimenting with fuel octane levels. He was originally filling up on Premium Unleaded (98 Octane) but then dropped back to Mid Unleaded (95 Octane) and got about 10% increase in economy without any noticeable decrease in power. I'm using Unleaded 95 now. Sorry to hear your season is over... We are lucky enough to be able to ride all year around here. But at least you get plenty of time to tinker, upgrade and work on your bike :-)

    • @dualsportgarage

      I have heard the sensor may be degraded if you leave it in place which obviously could be a problem if you wish to use it in the future. However I have not been able to substantiate this with factual evidence yet. Either way if you never plan to use the O2 sensor again …it’s no problem leaving it in place. :)

      Rottweiler does not specifically say GasGas will run but it is the same motor as the 690/701. However Rottweiler does say it will not work on EU machines from 2021-2023.
      Hope this helps...Thanks!
