The Collecting Addicts pod cast for me has been a real highlight. I have sat and laughed with you, I have answered questions at the same time as you guys. Said “YES YES YES” so many times. Makes me realise I am just as weird as you guys and a bloody love it.
Keeping saying YES! Great to have you onboard.
+1
Have you cried with them
@@collectingcarsYES!
We need desperately more videos from Chris shot like back in the day of "Chris Harris on Cars", Edward please make it happen! 😘
Agreed!
I come for CH in the 🚗 driving it @ the limit and beyond
There's lots in store for '24!
The podcasts are a new way of life - Fridays can’t come around quick enough
We're glad you're enjoying them!
Very much enjoyed you guys praising the staff. That’s the sign of a good business.
A surprise Christmas bonus.
The whole collecting cars ecosystem is joyously fresh and has such heart for an automotive business. Well done chaps and the very best of success for 2024!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
I think you've done a super job so far with CC and I wish you all the luck.
I hope to see Chris stretch his legs on the content creation side of the channel in 2024.
Given the talent on board, there are so many possibilities for generally expanding the brand as a destination for car enthusiasts...
Merry Christmas and happy new year to all!
Thanks for the positive feedback! Lots in store for 2024!
Congratulations to the whole Collecting Cars team. 🎉
Thanks!
I’ve been on the journey from the get-go. Sold my E46 M3 on CC, attended a coffee run, never missed a podcast and met Neil C @ Goodwood FoS. Looking forward to what’s in store for ‘24. Chapeau to the entire team and thank you for creating a cool subculture, community and platform for a bunch of daft petrolheads.
Legend!
I bought the Red Fiesta Ghia 1300 from the Fast Ford Collection, first car bough from auction site and it was such a easy smooth transaction and the communication from yourselves was spot on felt right and comfortable throughout the transaction many thanks. Love the car and going to lots of shows, plenty of smiles per mile.
This is so good to hear. Keep enjoying that Fiesta!
The Collecting Addicts pod cast has been the highlight of new channels this year. Makes you know there are others out there just like you !. All the best for 2024 to everyone.
Thank you!
I'll probably never be in the position to buy a car through CC, but I love being part of the community, listening to the podcast, checking out the auctions. Its been a great year.
Thanks for being part of the community!
I started watching the Collecting Addicts podcast a month or so ago, love it, and have just started watching them from the first episode. I've watched Chris Harris videos for years, but I have grown quite fond of all the members of the podcast as well. Forgive me if you have done this already and I haven't seen it yet, but I would love to hear stories of how you all met.
I’ve been following Collecting Cars since inception on and off, mostly because I’m always prioritising work. This last 6 months I dedicated some time to listening to The Collecting Addicts Podcast and it’s been life changing for me. I usually put it on in the car on a long drive when usually I’d be on calls. It’s allowed me to focus my attention on something else I deeply enjoy. The chemistry between all of you is perfect and all have a fantastic story to tell. With the direction Collecting Cars is going I strongly believe this will be right up there with the likes of CW and beyond because you’re creating a community. Like a non toxic PH forum in modern time.
Massive congratulations to all involved, you should be extremely proud of what you’ve achieved so far and whoever comes up with all of these creative ideas is a genius.
A huge Merry Christmas to you all and a Happy New Year.
So glad to hear this.
Thank you so much for continuing to build the online car community in such a positive way! I'm based in NZ, so unable to easily participate in automotive events/culture the UK, EU & US take for granted. The podcast & ig is my window into that world. I'm also a total saddo addict. Made my first 'large' purchase via the platform, the process and experience was excellent. Car is on it's way from the UK (hopefully ready for the Auckland coffee run) Thanks guys, you're doing wonderful things for the automotive world!!
Thank you Harry. We have our first Coffee Run in NZ next month - sign up and we hope to see you there! - collectingcars.com/events/coffee-run-auckland
Got mr Harris’s book for Xmas. It was fantastic. Happy holidays guys
Count me in as one of the weirdos who don’t miss an episode of the podcast. Thanks for the entertainment, Happy New Year from Topeka, Kansas!
I’ve bought twice and sold once on CC. Sadly the Jag was a rotter. I know, shock. But you should consider offering a ‘condition’ service like some auctions do to buy with confidence. It’s a great experience winning.
We're sorry to hear about this. Please get in touch if you want to discuss further.
This is the way I feel about it too , it’s just like going to any auction only it’s online .
It’s fronted by some well known faces but that’s about it .
You could buy yourself an absolute cracker or on the other hand an absolute nail.
Much the same as any auction , please correct me if I’m missing something .
It’s ok thanks. Caveat emptor. The car was a few hours away so just thinking about ways to bid with confidence and ease
This podcast has been the best podcast of 2023. Very enjoyable, very enjoyable indeed.
Hands down the best podcast of 2023, keep up the smashing work team 👍
Have you considered doing some more merch in the new year?
Just realized that Ed was the architect of this all. Love collecting cars podcast. Each Monday commute has been a bliss ever since.
You two and the team backing you makes me stick around for a purchase when the time comes.
Good to hear!
Bought once, sold twice via CC.
Impressively professional, quick and easy.
On the buy side, prices are generally low enough to allow a contingency fund.
On the sell side, prices should be seen as selling very quick rather than very high.
Thanks guys
Thanks for sharing
I think I speak for the majority of "The Addicts" here. We need more of the longer form content. Like the older "Chris Harris Drives" videos. 30-45min videos of driving. Visiting factorys etc along with the addict podcast and the auction platform updates. This channel will conquer all.
You have launched the best car podcast in the world. Well done on that alone.
Just a wonderful podcast. Makes me smile and quite often laugh out loud. Not much of that around right now… thank you!
Love the podcasts. If I ever think of selling anything in my collection, I'll come to you first. Happy New Year!
Well done on a great year guys, enjoying following along. Maybe one of these days I’ll have the opportunity to use your facilities.
Keep up the great work and all the best to all of you
Thank you!
Yep echo a lot of the comments. This is probably the most enjoyable podcast I listen to now. Whether that’s listening along in my car or whilst I’m out cycling, it’s always a joy. Keep up the great work and thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this, love the site, love the podcast, love Ed saying ‘Fucking’…….love Harris…. What a brand they’ve built.👏
Thank you!
Might I suggest a phone app, with bidding, event registration, calendars, a column from Chris, shop etc. Happy Christmas!
Happy Christmas to all 🎄
Thank you all for such an enjoyable listen, I do admit that the money banded around is eye watering, never mind life changing to some of us mere mortals, but, it's not a criticism, just an observation....
Keep it as it is. Please!
Thank you and all the best for the future!
Thanks for listening
Is suspect collecting cars is quickly going to become one of if not the biggest automotive channel.
Not just passion for cars but many different thoughts behind there opinions.
Plus the podcasts are amazing!
I could sit at the table and listen to all day with a cup of tea 🍵 😂
Lots more in store in 24!
I like Edward. He seems like a fun guy to be friends with.
Perhaps some of Mr Cooper's mounting card can correct the reclination that is afflicting poor old Edward's chair. Love the adventure you're on gents, long may it continue.
I think you should launch a Collecting Bikes - for those of us that also like to pedal.
Or motorbikes!
A fireside advert.
Happy New year. Looking forward to more online content and my first purchase (911 GTS) funds allowing. 🙏
Exciting times! We sold a lovely GTS recently - inspo for you! collectingcars.com/for-sale/2015-porsche-911-991-carrera-gts-7-bin
Thanks for the laughs this year chaps.
Pleasure! Thanks for joining.
Nothing better than watching two middleaged men talk.
You ought to come over to the Shuttleworth Collection Chris-our 1903 De Dietrich race car might interest you-it’s not for sale by the way-just it’s a very interesting vehicle-which I am privileged enough to be able to drive.
Sadly I couldn't make it to any of the events last year. various reasons. Just all I ask and hopefully ask for many , is just keep the meets/events/gatherings real, chilled and welcoming. Not all of us are millionaires or ever will be sadly. Over the years I have taken my crappy Golf to various events that were cool, then they turned toffee nosed and unwelcoming. Other than that, love the content and stuff.
Fantastic video, love your podcasts too and well done on your success. I'm in the motor trade based up in Lancs, if you ever need an assessor or a photographer let me know. I'm nearly 50 now but have so much useless car knowledge in my head from hoarding every car mag since 1984 surely I can be of use!
Thanks!
What a dream job working with these two. Love the podcast as well keep up the good work boys!
Thanks a ton!
I know CC is very grown up in comparison to other car CZcamsrs but a collaboration with some who have to buy something from your site would be fun.
Good idea!
you guys make me wish i had money!
Give Chris something to slither around a track in and get cameraman Neil enough memory cards to record it all. Maybe even have all the addicts present for a track day.
Keep your eyes peeled...
Who are the other CC shareholders (apart from EL)? Companies House lists them as Messrs Edmonston, Ephson and Wilson (not Chris Harris). What are their backgrounds and involvement?
And what plans are there to increase buyer protections?
Please get the cc app working again?????
Love what you chaps are doing. The content is great. I do have one snarky question: DO all 100 CC employees wear white short-sleeved T-shirts and CC branded vests every day?
Pretty much yes.
Based on the title I thought this was going to be Chris and Ed trying to test drive a Tesla.
🤣
A suggestion could be to also have a buyer side - buyers looking got specific cars that sellers can reach out to. For example if you are looking for a 456 M, Blue with creme interior as a certain Manish🤣
(I searched three years for my manual Panamera S and would have been great to have more options find me.)
Great feedback, we'll pass on.
Keep your eyes open Chris...I know too many unhappy sellers and buyers .. Also the disgraceful recent Aston V8 Vantage zagato sale where many buyers including myself were unable to place bids resulting in it selling to a known dealer way below market value and is now re advertised ...screams suspicious
Please do connect with us to understand what happened here. Was it a issue with the card registered on your account? We had no technical issues with the site that would stop anyone from bidding.
as far as i was concerned it wasnt a card issue as i had bought before and bid on a Diablo , but apparently it was an issue for me and some others on that day for that particular car... how very convenient.....@@edwardlovett9288
I'd love to work for cc the range of cars that come though the site is amazing, but I doubt they could do much with a 25 yr old tree inspector
We're always available to chat more if you're thinking of a career change - check out the current openings here - apply.workable.com/the-collecting-group/?lng=en
Yeeeesss lads any jobs going? Would love to sell cars for you 😁💚👏
Invalid fireside chat, should be sipping whiskey. 😅
Next time ;)
40 quid and free photographer it used to be witht he autotrader. Couldnt beat that :) That was a crap xmas advert tbf lolol
Has anyone told @cruisingthecut ? 😂
Copy the successful cars and bids model from Demuro but I think the ship has sailed unfortunately. The frenzy has stopped and sales have slowed to a crawl. Best of luck to them.
I think they are suffering from the same problem Mecums, Barret Jackson Southerby's have. Their average age is of a guy born in 1963 and has been for some time and a descending volumes, ever smaller niche models and variants and prices reflect that. Look at used car sales of cars or what people are getting quotes for insurance on and there is a black hole, none of the cars bought, sold or enquired about are on Collecting Cars, Cars and Bids or Bring an cheque book. Yes they had good timing launching it when they did, COVID, supply of new cars etc. But look at the comments here, you have punters wanting Chris just to make dab of oppo video's of the same cars he has over the last 20 years. Especially when his schtick is very focused on certain cars and models it narrows CCs target audience instead of broadening it or moving it forward. The podcast is just 4 other old men in a Teams meeting looking for stuff to talk about from the past. But look at the comments here you have people who have been burnt with scammers, rusty cars or shady cars which given their 100 staff to unit sold ratio is pretty worrying ratio given their business model is they only choose the best cars and you can trust them. It's as fake as the fireside on the flat screen. If they are only finding out about sore customers on their CZcams comments to me that is a concern and no one is saying that the blip we had 2 years ago is going to return. I don't see this reflecting a large part of the car community as its curated and aimed at the same as their competitors. Great if you have Chris do a video on your 993 GT2 before the auction. But not so good if you want to sell a 992 TurboS as he won't do one.
Chris reppin Newham ? Wha gwan ...
Lol
Throwing the 666s for the thumbnail!!! Hmm
I think auctions are a crap shoot, and massively risky - your service is free so there's nothing for dodgy sellers to lose putting them on. I don't know why anyone would buy a prestige car via auction via your service that has zero oversight/ QA, unless they're a mechanical expert, sorry, esp since I respect CH over all other motoring journalists.
Totally agree.
If I'm spending car kind of money, there's no way I'd do it sight unseen and on spec, especially if it's supercar money.
Manish effing rules
I was quite shocked seeing this video, I always listen to the Collecting Cars podcast and thought Edward Lovett was a pensioner, the voice doesn’t match the body 🤣
He's a wise man...
@@collectingcars I do mean it as a compliment 🤣 Keep up the great work, i’m looking forward to another year of podcasts 👍
Deffo Doug de muros cars and bids
Sitting by an EV ?
These guys dont respect wood
You need to add some value on the buyers side of the deal. Its totally weighted to the seller, offer some service in that direction and you’ll actually be doing something different. The seller is your client. As a buyer I’m not interested in your caveat emptor approach. I’d have better protection buying from eBay.
So we’ve got THE best motoring journalist not driving cars chatting to a guy who owns car dealerships.
Come on Chris, give people what they want
Check your facts.
@@edwardlovett9288 Apologies - So we’ve got THE best motoring journalist not driving cars chatting to someone nobody’s heard of. Come on Chris, give people what they want
I really like the podcast, but you guys need to get over your obsession with tinted windows. It’s not the 90s anymore; it doesn’t make you look like a drug dealer.
Amazing guys … sold and bought with you ( in my head bought many more than that ) … love each episode and want to thank you for providing proof that we petrol heads out here in the audience are not alone 🫣😂
Thank you!
