Dickson City Fire Department may be small in size but huge in tradition and pride. This company is able to show there is no reason to fix what is NOT broken. Thank you so much for this wonderful walk through of a true Volunteer FD. A community FD. The People of community make it work. WOW the clean bright (Older) Rigs. And TWO members built that Engine. With there hands. You can't ask for TWO members that know the Pumper inside and out, to fix any and all problems. Such respect for there Volunteer FD.
Loved the comment "low frequency, high risk calls" we all should do more of that training, because it is the outlier that takes the greatest toll on our safety!
Many of our most dangerous calls are low frequency high risk

Not only do I love their color scheme, but I LOVE all the retro engines they have. Their station is unique, but I can't help but feel bad that they don't have more of a bigger spot to relax and "call home". I hope you understand what I mean by that, nothing bad about their station.

Plus the ( Cell tower) that is a very good way for FDs to make money. We had a cell company ask to put a receiver on are water tower. They did all the maintenance, and payed you well just to have the elevated space. Very good Revenue builder for FDs.

DcFd Quint 23 is a 2008 Crimson with a Spartan chassis 103 foot aerial ladder with a 500 gallon water tank and a 2,000 gallon pump .

Hello there, new subscriber here. Just wanted to say that this channel is phenomenal and absolutely love it and am VERY proud to be a subscriber (that may sound corny), but it's the truth. I just signed up to become a volunteer at my local station, as we all sadly know, we are in desperate need of volunteers-especially due to the younger generation not having much interest. Just wanted to sincerely thank you for putting your awesome videos out there, and hopefully inspiring more people to volunteer. There are no words that can describe how amazing and how much of a blessing that First Responders are. Please take the time to just say thanks and show appreciation for what all First Responders do. Is across the parking lot the former station, and any plans to replace the current engine?
That is the former Ambulance Association building. There is currently a new engine on order from Sutphen, which will be delivered in late 2024 or early 2025
Just a general question and in no way talking crap, I’m just curious: why do a lot of northern / New York area departments have the same yellow / white lines on the trucks? I’ve noticed that with a lot of Departments up there. Is it just tradition? Is it to have a regional sense of pride?
