  • Today we get a look at a 1997 Sutphen Mini-Tower with a 70 foot tower ladder from Millersburg Fire Company that costs $1,500,000! Truck 20 has a full complement of ground ladders and in addition, a 1,500 GPM Hale pump with 300 gallons of water. Truck 20 also carries 1,000 feet of 5” hose, 800 feet of 3” hose and 2 pre-connected hand lines. Millersburg Fire Company Station 20 is located in Daughin County, PA along the Susquehanna River. We get an inside look at this truck and get to see everything that the firefighters use day to day. This fire truck has greatly provided for the Millersburg community and surrounding areas! If you want to learn more about Millersburg Fire Company or volunteer with them, please visit them at millersburgfire.org/

    I had a upstairs bedroom fire about 12 years ago here in Dayton, Ohio. A fire fighter walked up to my front door, turned around, and yelled for plastic. He covered up my tv, and furniture with plastic so it didn't get messed up from water, and the hose rubbing against it. I could of never been more great full for that fire fighter that day.

    • @B-riceNewton
      @B-riceNewton Před 2 lety +4

      A quint is a ladder with a water hookup. Ladders are usually referred to as “trucks”. Engines are the apparatus that pump water to the hoses.

    • @Q1745
      @Q1745 Před 2 lety +2

      It’s called a quint because has five components: pump, tank, hose, ladders, aerial.
      A truck typically has no pump/tank/hose but contains a large number of ground ladders in addition to the aerial.
      An engine does not have the aerial component and only a couple ladders, usually one extension ladder and one roof ladder.

    If people think is not worthy, please try to understand:
    - fire trucks are built in limited numbers
    - special design
    - special functionality
    - special equipment
    It's like building a functional prototypes specialy design to save your life.
    And is not that much in comparison with normal trucks, buses because they are limited numbers as well.
