God bless Johnny Mathis. Amazing he doesn’t rely on teleprompters and remembers all these lyrics. Please Kennedy Center Honors, give this legend a Kennedy Honor. He is beyond deserving and way overdue. Give this man, who has given the world so much joy, his flowers now while he’s living.

I've nominated Johnny Mathis for The Kennedy Center honor every year for 21 years. He broke barriers, record sales (longest selling LP in Billboard history to this day) and is a national treasure with an astoundingly range who has more raw talent than can be measured He has earned this honor. Streisand is right: "there are good singers and there are great singers-- and then there is Johnny Mathis." It's time.

Most of us will be dead by that age and those of us who are still alive will be in wheelchairs wearing diapers and eating baby food. Johnny is still getting up and going to work entertaining people and the public is still paying to see him perform. What do you think you will be doing at 87?
He’s one of the best singers ever…so many wonderful memories & I can’t believe he’s 87 years old! He has to have one of the most soulful voices ever & the band-especially the piano players, is terrific👍🏼

The last living singer from the golden age of crooners still sounds great at 87 years of age. His voice hasn't changed much from the 1950s-60s (just listen to "Misty" from 52:25 - 55:25). Here's hoping Johnny would continue entertaining us for many years to come.

Loved Johnny all my life! His voice and his music was the back ground of my life growing up! Now in my 70’s, I am still so overwhelmed to hear and see him singing so beautifully as ever, short of amazing that how he is so blessed with good health with his gifted voice intact!! ❤❤❤

There are several of those singers still singing. Engelbert Humperdinck, Tom Jones, to name two. Still performing to sell out crowds.
I think he is the only living crooner from that generation. His voice has not changed! Johnny's voice has not changed. still soothing.

I saw him 2 years ago when he was 86. What a treat that was. He even impressed my 47 year old friend who went with me. Yes, he's aging, but aren't we all ? He just sings better ❤

I've seen Johnny a few times in concert in the past with my (now passed) mother. The concerts were special times for us. Johnny's music is timeless and reminds me of simpler times when talent and class didn't need laser light shows or auto-tune. An orchestra and a voice...simply beautiful.

Having just watched this Elderly Statesman of Music, I am amazed at his stamina, to sing so many songs …and what’s more… to do all that while walking around the stage, almost non stop.
As a fellow Octogenarian 86, his stamina puts me to shame.
His breathing control, to capture each special moment of the melody, was beyond belief.
The orchestra was Top rate, and I thank you for putting this Video on CZcams.
P.s ….and he still has all that hair!

What a blessing. I’ve been in love with Johnny since I was 10. I’m 73 now. As a little girl when I visited my Aunt and Uncle, they would play his records. That was 1960. I was forever hooked. Over the years I’ve been blessed to go to 4 of his concerts here in Massachusetts. My husband and I loved him. My husband passed away 2021. I feel blessed to catch this Concert tonight August 2, 2023, before going to bed. I’m going to play again in the morning, relive my memories of being with my husband at his very special concerts. My Aunt is still alive same age as Johnny Mathis. Thank you Auntie Gloria for playing his records. Grateful♥️♥️🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸

There is only one Johnny Mathis! He has a singularly unique style and voice. God broke the mold when he made Johnny and graced us with his heavenly inimitable voice. He is ageless and astounding and has one of the most beautiful song catalogs I have ever heard. It simply confounds me that he has not been given the recognition as one of the greatest singers of all time. I hope Tptb of the Kennedy Center for the Arts wakes up and honors this man before the 12th of never.
