  • I invite you to the method I use for editing hydrogen solar data. I use the same method for full disc or zoomed images. The emphasis in the video is on the use of histogram in IMPPG. I invite the beginner to formulate a strong base method to build off of. For the novice I’m sure there’s something helpful in the video. Hopefully I have given some the tools they need to broaden their enjoyment of this fantastic hobby. Let’s photograph our closest star.

Thanks for watching. I used a PST for years. Loved it. Funny story: Was outside imaging with it mounted to an Orion Atlas II when a Marine helicopter spotted me and circled me. I live very close to the biggest Marine air station. It dawned on me that A) most people think of astronomy as a strictly nighttime venue, and 2) this setup, especially the PST, looks like some kind of weapon. What I was doing was definitely interesting to someone lol. I made the joke to my club that we scribe in big letters on the ground “This is a solar telescope.” Lol

@@GarnettLeary Haha thats funny ;) i also live really close to an army airport, lets see if they send a Chopper for me ;) PS: may i ask what yore preferred Imaging/Camera Setup was for the PST? Im still in the process of throwing all my cameras, barlows and reducers at the PST to figure out what works best ;)

At the time I owned it I preferred the ZWO 290mm. Had I owned a 174mm I would definitely have used it. Probably the mini version.

It seems quite conventional, except when it comes to the curves profile. Great result.

Hi mate. Been using this approach for prom animations: by getting surface as well as prom the images align much easier for smooth animations. Previously was exposing just for prom.

That’s what I found as well. The general thought is one or the other. This is the importance of testing outside of convention. Glad it’s working out for you.
