I just bought this deck and went in on the swaps, maybe too much lol Started as a $45 pre-con, ended as a $320 build 🤦🏻♂️ Here is what I got, also took out a most of the fluff you guys did. I’ve been playing for 25 years so I have a lot of old cards. Notable adds: Demonic Tutor Mystical Tutor Clearwater Goblet Timeless Lotus Tome of the Guildpact Legacy Weapon Sisay, Weatherlight Captain General Ferrous Rokiric Aragorn, the Uniter Child of Alara Garth One-Eye Jodah, the Unifier Spirit of Resistance The Kami War Sphinx’s Revelation Urza’s Ruinous Blast Supreme Verdict And for the lands, the shock lands are a must, and I run Mana Confluence, but City of Brass would also work. @@jaytile32 The comparison I'll give you is Rograhk the kobold commander. It has no colored symbols in it's mana cost, but it's identity is red. Rograhk is only playable in red decks, and Transguild Courier works the same way, except it is all colors.
I was super fortunate to have the money at the time to upgrade this deck...and when money wasn't a huge issue, this deck totally just built itself lol. It's pretty much just 5 color midrange good stuff and I love it! Also, with so many of my lands chipping away at my life, the word 'Painbow' takes on a whole new meaning! haha
You can use the mutate cards with Jegantha. Mutate cost is a cost you pay instead of mana cost hence the mana cost and symbols you must compare are only the ones at the top of the card. Same thing with cards like the new Ajani, the g/w Phyrexian mana isn't the same as a G pip, W pip or hybrid G/W pip.
The mutate cards legends do not affect jengatha. The only thing it cares about is the actual mana cost. Any additional or alternate costs do not affect it.
For maximum Pain(bow) add these: Scion of Draco , Ramos the Dragon Engine , General Ferrous Rokiric , Tranguild Courier , Sphinx of the Guildpact , Maelstrom Angel and the Nephilims were all pretty nasty upgrades to me.
'Might of the Nephilim' is a 2-mana Instant that gives one of your 5- color creatures +10/+10 until end of turn. Definitely an auto-include for me. My greatest woe is that it can't be used on Progenitus when I add him to this deck. 😢
As a fairly new user player you should side by side replacements with their counterpart to be replaced for easy reference or at least asterisk the raplaced card
if u leave the walker as the commander horde of notions is just a great beater to buff with his negative ability even if u dont run any other elementals but there are a few good ones like muldrotha or wanderer
Maybe one ramp that could be used here is Venture Forth. 2G, or suspend 3 for 1G. Look for a land (ANY land) and put it on the battlefield, then it suspends itself again for 3 more turns. Result? 1 extra land every 3 turns, that's always sweet. I'll be putting it on the deck
Bootleggers stash is also a fantastic csrd to add to this deck, I love the option to tap out the rest of my mana to add treasure tokens and starting my next turn up X amount of mana
So far I've picked up both Jodah's, Ramos, Dragon Engine, Progenitus, and a few other 5C fun stuff, but I think some of the nicer cards that I'll be adding are Spirit of Resistance and Samite Elder to help protect everything. I think what I'll end up doing as well is swapping Jared for Jenson and adding in Training Grounds/Biomancer's Familiar to take advantage of the easy access WUBRG. Very excited to play around with this deck once it's in!
some of the upgrades are right but theres more than a handful of missing ones Atraxa - 4 color and pretty much keeps adding the counter to jared and whatever you -3 your creatures Widespread thieving - your getting treasures for casting the muticolor spells Spirit of resistance - this is gonna be beyond hell for you opponents your next to always gonna have that condition met Samite elder - its mother of runes but it does everybody including herself you just need a 5 color permanent then you gives your board protection from all colors the other nephilms - all pretty much 4 color for 4 counters and they can be chefs kiss in the right situation Falco spara - on further inspect you will realize your putting on a ton of counters so almost "Future sight" but hidden (plus from nephilim mentioned Witch-maw and this creates "Future sight")
prismatic omen, crystaline crawler, garth one-eye, maelstorm nexus, the kami war, the prismatic bridge... only down fall so far is the 10 drop avatar... also saying ill be swapping Sam for Dean.... if you know you know {Jared Carthalion} for {Jenson Carthalion}!! hahahaha
I was a bit disappointed with this precon when comparing it to the other one that was made. I feel like they left out around 5 cards that could have easily gone in this deck that would have made it much more playable
My list isn't perfect...but it's as far as I'm going to take it I think. I'm not real sure what changes to really make at this point. All Suns' Dawn is just a test and can possibly be replaced (but a couple of my friends play janky mill decks where All Suns' shines). I might of misheard, but are you not able to run the mutate cards with jegantha as a companion because of the multiple pips in the mutate cost? i didnt think that affected it... Unless you just mean you're removing them in general.
Jensen is good on paper, but when you’re shuffling up for lands so much the cry effect is lack luster and you almost never hit the angel creation clause.
I think I disagree with Primeval spawn. You can cheat it out, but when you do it leaves the battlefield because you didnt cast it. But when it leaves the battlefield due to not being cast it gets exiled meaning the rest of the text triggers. So if anything u cheat it out to get more creatures!!
The clause checks before the creature enters the battlefield and immediately puts it into exile. I believe it’s a replacement effect and never hits the battlefield so it wouldn’t trigger any leave the battlefield effects.
@@FireSummoner you are correct, it says if it would enter the battlefied. . . then exile it instead. So it never entered the battlefield and subsequently never left it. It's kind of like if a card says when you cast a spell do X and it gets countered. That countered spell is still cast so you still get the trigger. If instead it says when a spell enters the battlefield it doesn't trigger because it never entered.
It’s real annoying that there’s no link to a buy list of these upgrades that goes straight to SCG. Kinda stupid, honestly. Like I don’t wanna sit and swipe over to the notes app every time you name a card and then manually get those. Now I’m gonna buy them from TCGplayer.

Transguild Courier is actually 5 color in terms of identity, so you can only play it in 5c, as opposed to the other 5c creature with that extra text.
It isnt tho its colorless you can add it to any deck

I personally love Scion of Draco in the version of this deck I'm working on. It's focusing on as many of those 5 color cards as i can fit in the deck
I really had hopes wizards would print more five color creatures in dominaria united, but it seems we only got the lotus mana rock as support

I paired mine with Doubling Season, Parallel lives, Primal Vigor, The Ozolith, Resourceful Defense, Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, Timeless Lotus, & Jegantha, the Wellspring

Progenitus locks you out of Jegantha though

Jared is a great commander if you hate slivers but are strangely into 3/3 kavus.

No, if you put Spawn into play with MM then it will get exiled. It wasn’t cast.

It said "exile it instead", if you cheat it out. It's a replacement effect.

Sol Ring is overrated. For mana source, you must match for the colors in your deck.
