I learned to drive a stick in my Dad’s truck when I was 16. Back then almost everyone had sticks cause auto cost extra. Was a learning experience and glad he made me learn.
Just imagine you’re driving that long nosed Pete grain truck with the 18 speed. 😁. Pretty smooth shifting without the clutch by the way. Didn’t think we’d notice did you.

Where I am in Ontario my house sits on about twenty feet of white beach sand. It would be perfect for you. That truck has a pretty nice looking seat. I didn't realize you could get to the sand from inside, that's handy. You are so lucky to get to play with all those boy toys. A ten speed freightliner requires some driver skills. Good video SDK. Hi Jan, you gave the thumbs down on the DEF. you should read all about the emissions, DEF is actually your friend but because people don’t know all the technology that comes with it they gave it a thumbs down, Netherland as well as the rest of Europe was using it before North America. By the sand where you park the truck take the loader and drop the bucket and take out 2 - 6" strips of dirt then park the truck 12" below the loader then much easier to load the truck that's lower than the loader
Was wondering what other dairy farms use sand as bedding. Here in Illinois we use sand as bedding and while it might be comfy, it’s a pain when cleaning the udders 😂

The first big truck I drove was an 80's era Oshkosh Truck cement truck turned potato bulker. Thought you did a pro job shifting that truck. Question to maximize the use of space in your sand room, could you possibly employ a conveyor or even one of your augers. Should be able to dump right from the truck into the auger and let it fill safely to the ceiling. Progressively working back until filled. Just a crazy thought. Not sure if it would help or not. At any rate, you have an incredibly beautiful facility. Great job.

Oh to have had an on farm supply of sand for my cows! Cost of dry sawdust in the UK is a pain, although sawdust is not nearly so sore on slurry pumps etc.
These concrete edges and manhole covers are the reason to always wear seat belt at least when pushing snow. Else you will smear up the windshield from inside. Been there, done that! :D
Have you looked ino sand recycling? I've watched a few dairy farms that are doing this. Not really sure the cost? Glad you got enough supply built up to take you through the winter months. Sand room is full. I always enjoy your videos.
