- Yeah, Like I said there is an ODST variant to this mod!
The creator also took the time to turn Exodus into a more sieged city, full of fire and smoke and honestly it really made for an interesting atmosphere
In this video I showcase what it looks like to play as an ODST in exodus (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) and it was really fun! something just changes the experience of the whole thing, maybe you feel a little more badass since your literally just a normal human being with a rifle and not a heavily augmented cyborg who can somehow beat you with your own skull which doesn't seem physically possible but you'd be surprised how many times you hear it from the person your beating with their own skull.
And again! Go support the mod dev as this mod is amazing and it's always nice to help MCC's modding community :)

I love how limited the ODST is compared to how you play as a Spartan. This is how I wanted Halo 3 ODST to be like. Like Battle Field where you are more dependent on tactics and strategy instead of rushing in like a Spartan.
And that’s why I play on Legendary with Thunderstorm
Play as an ODST or trooper/marine in Arma 3’s Operation Trebuchet mod and fight against the covenant, easily the most terrifying and fun experience, not to mention being swiss cheese against plasma weapons
@@DEEZ_N4T getting melee kills as a Spartan is dime a dozen, but I'll never forget getting a melee kill against an Elite as a Marine in OPTRE
The time to kill for players and ai is far too slow imo. I change it in firefight

Me too, though only downside is MCC is one heckin CHONKY game being about 153GBs, so for people like me who may not have alot of space it eats up alot of space, though feels pretty worth it when you find mods like these hanging around

Ngl id love a thirdperson type mod of playable marines/ODSTs for the rest of the halos, if I ever budge and find any for the other halos, then ho knows I could try to do a playthrough on those too!
If only there were two skulls, one where you play as a marine and another where you play as an odst. That would be sick
I loved the Halo 3 ODST story, but the gameplay was literally just playing as a Spartan without an overshield. This is the type of gameplay I was hoping for. Having the limited movement of a regular human but having an emphasis on tactics and more team-based gameplay.
the freaking atmosphere is so good in both this version and the regular version, this one really feels like all hell is loose and you can't see anything from all the destruction, i want more levels from this point in reach to have that red mist since the covies have most definitely have caused a lot of damage, so sweet.
4:00 or so in is awesome. You hear nothing but don’t just hunt stuff down like normal… you’re an ODST, so you’re waiting out whatever is lurking. You’re outsmarting them. Reminds me of Dead Space type of tension.
really does teach you to be more cautious and find a more patient solution, since normally as a spartan your given the tools to just say screw it and run in screaming just as loud as the grunts
it for sure is a nice change of pace
@@JinxedEcho444 some stuff is tactical to a fault for my tastes… but this reminds me of terrorist hunt, the last few targets of a Rainbow Six Vegas raid.
Can't wait to see what kind of mods people make when the Mod Tools for Reach come out. The better the engine the better the mods. Same goes for Halo 4.
Same, Im super stoked for the announced update coming too mcc not only will there be a huge handful of new cut content to be jammed into each game
The modding community of MCC might just reach its golden age of modding which is just exciting, hopefully these videos shine some light on that so people know to support mod devs and their hard work :p

Everything from 14:25 to 15:10 was a chef's kiss. I am not discounting your skill but in those 45 seconds you had Chief's luck for those close calls! Particularly in the last ten seconds! Almost jumped out of my seat!
Definitely need another ODST game, and most definitely a game from a Marine's pov.
Jeez seeing a Grunt up close is terrifying as an ODST.
Also the smog from the glassing being present in this mission is haunting.
This will be Halo one day; grounded and tactical experience.
A spin off/fan game similar to this would prolly be very interesting, lets add it too the ever growing list of cool spin of halo ideas like the flood horror game ideas n such

actually would be pretty neat to have the mod author put the firefight voices in the campaign. that would probably be a pretty nice mod on its own to be fair- (I wouldn't be surprised if it already existed though)
@@JinxedEcho444The firefight voices are technically in the campaign. Stacker's voice lines in Exodus are actually tied to his Firefight voice (as I'm pretty sure every voiceline in the game is attached to an NPC, so they can have a radio filter when you're far enough away from the speaker) and his lines are lumped into the same category as his Firefight voice (you assign the file to a Marine NPC it'll talk like him) and the same goes with Buck in New Alexandria (get off the Falcon when the generic ODST model representing him does and start punching him, and he'll make the signature Buck yelp).

I really wish 343 would just admit they can't do a masterchief game and make an odst game instead. Playing as a normal soldier in that world was amazing and terrifying all at once.

Honestly would be pretty nice, would be the same game in 3rd person- yet changes the feel prolly- might be on the look out for smth like that cuz it would be an excuse to play odst!
I want to play certain Halo campaigns like this on xbox, but as a Halo CE elite with a plasma rifle. And only be able to pick up a needler, plasma pistol, energy sword , grenades and an fuel rods/rockets. And drive vehicles like ghosts and wraiths. Allies also being other CE elites or humans or both.

This is a really impressive mod. I’m not sure how difficult this would be to script, but it would be a cool detail if you moved a bit slower with low health to simulate limping from your injuries
Also projectile-based weapons should have a bit of recoil added since ODSTs are physically weaker than Spartans
i hope you do more of this mods if there's any on the other games. As well as try new mods of halo :D
I hope to get the motivation to do more of these as there simple yet fun, and a win win! i get to explore new mods and such while viewers get to see them with me and learn abt more mods for halo!

would make a pretty interesting legendary/heroic playthrough if it was 4 player- 1 spartan 3 marines/odsts the host would have like there own posee of marine frens with actual brains cuz- well- people :D

I dont think so no, im sure its probably configurable in some way in the mod files

The map comes with the mod, I dont believe there is a separate download for it, but DONT QUOTE ME ON THAT- i haven't revisited the mod in awhile so who knows if the creator made a separate upload, mod links in the description!

@@maurikio The map is automatically installed along with the rest of the mod, there is no extra steps to get the map

dont see how its cheating to have smth thats normally there by default, but to each there own
@@JinxedEcho444 ODSTs do not have a motion sensor suite built in by default. That's all I meant
@@Eric149498 Fair nuff. tho we had the VISR mode then but since in reach you only get NV which (feels like discount VIRS to be fair as it still kinda highlights aliens and humans)
