  • The Wandrd PRVKE is one of the most popular camera bags in the world and one of my favourite bags in general. It's got the looks and the functionality to be one of the best and this year, Wandrd have updated it to be even better. This is the 31L version and my ideal size.

    Hello from Paris (France),
    I really like your videos and thanks to this one, I loved this bag.
    Nevertheless, before buying it I would like to know if it can be used as a backpack for everyday life (storing a computer, taking public transportation, etc). I mean, I'm not a photographer but I loved the design of this bag.
    If not, would you have a model or a brand to recommend?
    Thanks for your help

    Subscribed! Literally nobody has content out for the new 41L bag atm. I have the old version of the 31L PRVKE. I mainly use it for my camera gear but I was considering using it as a travel bag when i do my 30 day trip to japan next year. I was skeptical if it would be enough then I come to find out they now have a 41L bag so maybe that would be a bit better for the long trip. I haven't seen much info on it. Even on the official website. Can be a carry-on on a flight? idk. Looking forward to seeing your review on it!

    Just got my new PRVKE and was wondering where the internal flap went...
    I am not sure I like that just because if I am ever in a rush and somehow drag it while it's open before the top is closed my cameras my slip out. Or if they are falling all over the place in the bag if Im running around.

    Great review, really like your demeanor and thoughtful pace. I have the original 31L PVRKE for my flight / work bag. In general it is all I need with enough organization. The v2 looks nice with the added interior storage pockets. But after much use, I finally give up on the bag for two reasons: 1) the tarpaulin material is a bit cold. Another option for a fabric with a warmer hand would be appreciated. A black-camo corduroy would be perfect. And 2) the placement of magnetic handles just don’t work for me. Having two handles is a nuisance. Picking the bag up quickly makes you have to constantly grab the other to pair them up. All of my MissionWorkshop bags have a single well placed handle at the top, which I use often.

    I was researching 31L and found it to be Canadian $425. I think it is on the high side. So for now, I think I will continue with my Lowepro Flipside Trek 450 for day long hikes and photography gear and Gregory Zulu 65L for backpacking plus photography gear.

    • @jan.tichavsky
      @jan.tichavsky Před rokem +1

      I just got the same Flipside Trek 450, before that I had Flipside 400 for about 8 years of heavy usage. For some $180 I already got camera compartment and rain cover. With WANDRD you have to pay more for the empty shell and on top of that buy the camera cube and also $34 for basic rain cover. Why is it not included? Downside is that Lowepro has fewer of these well placed pockets and doesn't have expandable top. But it has large pockets on both side instead of the back access pocket which I don't care about, the back access only is also safer way to carry my gear.

    • @HusbandnWifeDuo
      @HusbandnWifeDuo Před rokem

      @@jan.tichavsky Exactly! I have same observations. Flipside Trek 450 tends to carry much more than one simple look.

      Have you considered the prvke lite? Or perhaps the 21L version?

  • @darksheer6497
    @darksheer6497 Před 2 lety +9

    Just received my 31L Prvke bag, after waiting over 7 months for delivery.
    This is absolutely one of the worst designs I've seen for a camera bag - especially with the premium price point. I submitted mine for return within 15 minutes of taking delivery.
    The big thing you'll notice, the camera access port is on the wrong side of the bag for right handed people. You have to sling the bag over your left shoulder to access the camera port. Also, a full frame Mirror less camera will be a struggle to get in and out easily.
    Zippers on the outside of the bag are nice, but almost every zipper requires you to hold and pull the bag in certain ways for them to work properly. Even the quick pull open access for the compartment doesn't work without having to pull and tug the bag.
    Lastly, the bag with the photography cube won't even handle 1 full frame camera with lens attached and two additional zoom lenses.

    A nice review, although I found some of the abrupt editing a bit distracting. It seems a great backpack and you provided a some very useful information. That said, Wandrd charges extra for straps, rain cover, even a waist belt all of which I think ought to be included. Their website lists a weight for the backpack which I presume doesn't include the camera cube and I'd be curious as to what the weight is with the belt, cube, and rain cover. (I won't trust my gear to the brutes who call themselves "baggage handlers" on the airlines, and prefer to take it in the cabin as carry on luggage, so weight is important.)
