this is for a key fob that doesn’t lock and unlock the car
1) remove the key cover on the driver side door
2) press unlock on the key fob and manually unlock the door
3) start the car
4)reinstall the door lock cover

Video worked! Absolute god send. Had my car for 3 years and the dealership told me I need new keys and the control module. I woke up this morning and decided to google it 😅 found your video and had my key fob back in less than 5 minutes.
Never bothered me because the keyless entry always worked. But it started to bug my fiancé when she had to wait on me to get into my car lol

Worked for me! 2012 GTI Mk6 FOB spare wasn't working. I went to VW, and bought the $15 Battery. Still not working. VW tried to tell me that just Programming Costs $210, lol. I told them I'll find it on CZcams, thanks anyway. They laughed. Joke's on them. LOL. THANK YOU.
I have a 2013 Passat and this happened to me. I thought the batteries were dead but when I changed it, it still was not working. Then I thought my fob was broken and was going to buy a new one. This video came out just in time!! I tried it out and it worked for me. Thanks!!

Yes
Worked on GTi mk5, tx! Just had to lift the cap slightly off the mechanism, started car, turned off. Whacked the cap back and all sorted.

BOTH my key fobs suddenly stopped working. The car does not respond to any buttons on EITHER keyfob. The batteries in the fobs are fine. Is this the same issue? How does it happen? Is the procedure the same for the second fob?
I’m not sure why it happens, but yes it should work for both fobs, did it work for you?

This only works if the light on the key fob is working. I just changed my battery and the light was working but now it suddenly isn’t.

Okay I’ll try tomorrow, I just purchased a Jetta yesterday and the fob isn’t working. I took it to get a new battery and it still won’t work, I’ll try it in the morning and see what happens

The whole key FOB thing on new cars is beyond annoying. I hate when technology introduces and expensive problem when no problem existed.
I tried this with my 2018 Golf R, and it just set off the alarm. Didn't fix anything.

Good video, but didnt work. Also shows " no key in vehicle" when start attempted
