Why can't WG standartize the models to accept different body parts and bits from the same range(ie Primaris to Primaris, IG to IG etc...) without cutting and sanding? It would boost their sales if average players could simply glue together a kitbash of their desire = more incentive to buy different stuff.
Great video, love it to bitz! Where did you get your knife? It looks very sturdy.
@@DzinkyDzink it looks like a lot of the older space marine kits were standardized because most bits were interchangeable. I think most of the new kits will be when they release the full kits instead of just the monopose ones. They always get released first and are cheaper to buy and easier to build, so more people buy them.
What type of clippers are you using in this video?

*The return of Dead Animal Bits*
I love those DEAD ANIMAL BITS!!
Peta:REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Holy smokes that is INCREDIBLE! But dude, you gotta hit me with that frost axe recipe. That blade is looking icey af!
Yes Please! That axe is gorgeous!
I'll have to dig out another frost weapon from my bitz box!
Any chance of a tutorial on how to paint that axe? It looks just like ice and I love it!
Sure! I just kind of experimented with it and was quite happy with how it turned out.
+100. Really keen to learn how you did that!
@@PeteTheWargamer Pete i would call that experiment a success because it looks amazing the depth it seems to have it so cool
@@PeteTheWargamer I was going to ask the same thing. It's quite impressive, and the feel I've been looking for. Hope you do a tutorial on it.
@@PeteTheWargamer Was really blown away on how good it looks, will want to see how you did it as well
luckily previous Firstborn SW kits came with tons of accessories and distinctive weapons and shields
Yeah! It made my dark
Imperium conversions way easier
I have been saving my Blood Angels firstborn spares for this moment
I just hope that when these kits are eventually phased out that they have decent replacements for them!
you had me at Space Wolves, great job on this guy
Thanks!
Yay! A kitbash vid that isn't a stream!
Hell yeah!
High quality content.
Exactly :D
I hate it when there is a kitbash I want to see, but it’s a stream.
@@plaidpvcpipe3792 I feel the same way
I miss the streams
This is a very impressive conversion Pete! This painted model looks really good too and I hope you will do a tutorial on painting this figure too. Thanks for making this.
That's the plan!
@@PeteTheWargamer have you forgotten ?
IT'S CALLED A RONDLE! YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY YEARS I HAVE WANTED TO KNOW IT'S NAME!
I used to call them "tilting plates" but rondal is better.
Rondel is an old word for round and would typically be a small circular plate of armour or a dagger, so that is probably not right either. The ones on space marines would just be called shields, in medieval times a knight would usually hang his shield from his shoulder to keep his hand free which is where i think GW got the aesthetic from.
GW staff have been calling them tilt shields, tilting plates. I've heard it referred to as a "turn-lance", presumably in reference to jousting? Rondal is another good one to add to the toolbelt.
"Turn-lance" - definitely jousting
The correct term is besagew
Absolutely fantastic paintjob!! And great conversion too!
Going to say it as well we need to see the painting tutorial for this
Thank for showing us this conversion!
That's a great kitbash, and the painting on the Frost Axe is amazing.
This is stunning!
Best kitbash I have ever seen! I Weill certainly try and recreate this with my own space wolves once I pickup some bladeguards! Well done sir👌
That axe looks stunning!
Thats a amazing paintjob weldone.
cool conversion, nice colors!
This looks really great!
By Russ, that Frost-Axe surely has an other-worldly glow to it!!! Fenrys Hjolda!
beautiful conversion!
I love the colour of the blade, it really stands out. 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
nicely done again.
Neat conversion and thats some amazing red painting on the model. I was going to go with the sky blue space wolves but now you have me rethinking
I know there are a few other comments already saying this, but if we could get a painting tutorial on that axe we would love you forever Pete!
I suppose I had to at this point 😂
Please do a tutorial on painting that armor paint scheme, the colors are so good!!
Thank you!
@@PeteTheWargamer seconded! I've been trying to find a Legion colour scheme that wasn't too drab and dull... that's really nice!
Awesome work
Beautiful paint scheme! That is one clean wolf.
Thank you very much!
Looks so cool wow
YYEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!! Been waiting for something like this. Nice work, Pete. There are a lot of space wolf players scratching their heads about how to convert the Indomitus boxset. Thanks for answering the call.
Glad you enjoyed it and there is much more to come.
Whoa this is an OUTSTANDING conversion and that paint job is EPIC. You've knocked it out of the park with this one sir. Very well done. :)
Thanks a bunch!
Wow this is exactly what I needed guidance on today!
Glad it was helpful!
DOD GAMN that looks amazeballs when it's all painted.
Thank you!
Utterly stunning
~Lone
Another awesome job! 👍🏻
Thanks for the visit
Very Nice channel thanks for the tutoriels good continuation its a beautiful works
Great job, I personally would have left the shoulder pad and save time with a transfer, but great explanation on how to do it.
Definitely, but I just love sculpted emblems!
That figure is awesome!
Thank you!
Going to be using this and the deathwing one for my deathwatch, can't wait to see what you do next
lots of cool stuff to come!
the axe blade is really amazing
Was thinking about doing this myself, then your video popped up! Amazing work, thank you. Definitely doing this!
Go for it!
The conversion is really nice but the painting is awesome and the axe incredible.
Well Done Pete! I can't wait to get my hands on these big boys to start their Wolfy conversions! I have a ton of third party bits (Kromlech, Puppetswar, SpellCrow, etc) and I am so pumped to really get to work!
Lots of great parts from those guys that would work fantastically with the new Indomitus stuff.
The Deathwing video you made gave me the concept for my Drakeguard Veterans im converting the Bladeguards too for my Salamanders🦎
Awesome, I'd love to do Salamanders again at some point!
It seems one of the prerequisites to creating a Space Wolves Blade Guard Veteran is courage. Almost like a rite of passage :)
I like it!
Yea. That axe looks amazing. A tutorial on that would be amazing.
woah he looks like loyalist Wulfrik the Wanderer, great job as always!
Looks awesome. Nice job!
I made my own out of intercessor bodies and was playing to use these guys in a different army, but this might have persuaded me to wolf them up. 🤘
Thanks!
That is brilliant!
Thank you!
A video on converting Elysian Drop Troops would be amazing, I imagine pretty tough to do though
4:17 new sample for my next dark grim techno tune. DEAD ANIMAL BEATS
If this was done, I would simply HAVE to use it in my videos
@@PeteTheWargamer Ohh its on. Just you wait.
Corrrrrrr! You’re earned a new subscriber for this one! 👍🏻
Welcome aboard!
I have all these kits!! All new, waiting for my indomitous box. This is perfect !
Enjoy!
That axe.. bravo 👏
The ice effect on the axe looks so good
Thanks!
BRILLIANT!!!
planning on doing a tutorial how you painted him? really like the steal of it!
**style
You really have had your brave pills the way you hack at a new model. I’m not sure I’d have the courage. Awesome conversion, keep up the great content
You can do it!
Thanks for another great video mate, I'm stuck trying to decide weather to go Space Wolves or Ultras for my first foray into Primaris marines, this is definitely making me think Wolves.
SW should be getting their own supplements at some point to
amazing!
This is awesome!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Love it
The armpit shield is called a "besagew", Its only called a "rondel" if its round.
All rondels are besagews, but not all besagews are rondels.
They are commonly miscalled rondels because the term rondel existed first. But as rondel means "round" or "small circle", the term besagew came into use to describe any non-circular version.
Great conversion and painting! Salamanders or White Scars would be rly cool
That would be cool!
Awesome!
Glad you think so!
I love it!! I'll be doing the Deathwing conversion when my box set arrives but this Space Wolve is awesome!! And those DEAD ANIMAL BITS always seem to come in useful lol
They are the converters best friend.
@@PeteTheWargamer my main source of D.A.B is obviously the GW Skull set! But is there any other kits or anything out there that is also a good source of DEAD ANIMAL BITS?
I did not know about bitzbox, I just nabbed some upgrade bits I have been struggling to find! Oh and that frost axe is SICKNESS.
Do a tutorial on the paint scheme on this model please!
Nice idea!
@@PeteTheWargamer Yes I'd love to know how you achieved the gold trim, this is what I've been trying to get for a long time.
thats badass
Thank you!
This turned out really well. I'm trying to decide what I want to do for my Salamanders successor. The shields I might end up getting some 3d printed replacements, because they really don't seem to fit for Salamanders.
He looks brilliant! Like you I much prefer the Horus Heresy colour scheme
It's a shame that they decided to switch to the powder blue 🙁
Tutorial on the axe would be nice, it looks insane ! Like real ice.
That Frost Axe!!!!
Hi Pete!
This video inspired me to create my own White Scar Bladeguard Captain. I enjoy kitbashing and converting also. i am working on my White Scar Outriders and the Chaplain right now.
I checked out your White Scar Captain, really great work there both in the conversion and paint job!
@@PeteTheWargamer thanks ever so much for checking it out and I appreciate the kind words.
@@PeteTheWargamer also, would love to work with you on a conversion collaboration or something one day. One can dream haha
Bitzbox is great, I just got some Tartarus terminator parts for making a Gravis captain out of an aggressor
I'm glad to hear that they've been helpful :)
subscribed for that axe
EPIC!
Aww man would have loved for ones also folks having there Space Wolves use a Power sword vikings also used swords! haha but great figure!
I was planning to kitbash some of these completely from scratch, using intercessors as a base and adding a ton of bits from other kits.
However, this turned out really well, so now I'm thinking I might just use the original Bladeguard vets as the base. I'll probably wait for the multipart kit though as I suspect that will make quite a few of the steps a fair bit easier.
Yeh the multi-part has already been leaked and I suspect that will cut down a lot of the extra work seen in this video.
I realy Love this style - would you share how you painted the pre heresy Power armor?
Intensely cool. I don't much care for the Space Wolves aesthetic, but damn if seeing the finished miniature didn't make me wanna build some! Great content.
Thanks!
Holy shit that axe is amazing! Please do a salamander bladeguard next :D
Nice idea!
Please do a tutorial on painting that scheme ....
It's look really nice 😍😍😍 i wanna paint like that too.
Any chance for a tutorial on how to paint this guy? The axe and armour look incredible
I'll be doing guides for his armor and frost weapons 🙂
Well, now I just need to get a SW terminator kit or two. Good video, really reassured me as I thought the shield would be way harder to switch out.
These were much easier than the DA ones.
@@PeteTheWargamer how is the sprue on the captain and lieutenant?
I gave you grief for doing the Heresy Emperor's Children scheme instead of the current one, but I agree with using the Heresy Space Wolves theme. It really does look a lot better.
A1 conversion, love it. Bring on more sons of Russ.
Thanks!
Think I may borrow some of those ideas 😁
Please do!
Have you got a painting guide for this chap coming?
You should do bladeguard salamanders.
Salamanders would be a great one to see.
I only have one more Bladeguard left, so I'll be picking my next one very carefully. But Salamanders does sound good.
Gah, the other Pete beat me to what I had planned
Darn... I start to Imagine things...
I really Had the "Real Ninja wear Blue" Sound bit from Gaijin Goomba under your Dead Animal Bits Catchphrase... my viewing Habits get to me ... oO
Sir, please do a painting tutorial for this scheme! You are killing me!
I really need to get around to it don't I, sorry!
@@PeteTheWargamer I am literally waiting with unpainted wolves so that I can use your paint scheme!
Thank you for this video. Gives a great pointer on making the bladeguard more wolfy/Viking. Not perfect of course, the robes definite don’t match the sons of Russ, but I will take what I can get until GW actually comes up with Space Wolves specific aesthetic Primaris.
I based my conversion loosely on Viking Huscarls which wore tabards beneath their armour. I like to think that the cloth of this model follows that theme.
Pete The Wargamer they did? Ok will checkup on those so that I can justify in my head that Vikings wore Tabards in the past. For me, I can imagine they did after their Christinazatioj but not before.
Thanks for reply, will do my own further research
I love this model, but as you swapped the sword for an axe and the datasheet speciffically says powersword, they arent actually legal for official play, though im sure most places will be fine with it. Its important to keep in mind that some wont.
I am going to use Hours Heresy Grey Slayer parts.
Outstanding work.
how would you do one for Minotaurs chapter, could curve out abdomin cloth to look like armour possibly,Greek themed abs kind of look.
Cool conversion... where would we be without all those old Space Marine kits!?
I just hope they stay in production for a lot longer!
Vraiment stylé j'adore hum ^^ ^^ !! !!
Sorry if this is off topic but the gold on that space wolf is absolutely perfect. Just what I was looking for to paint my Carcharodons. Does anyone know the name of the paints used to create the Gold?
I used Army Painter metallics: 2 parts Weapon Bronze to 1 part Gun Metal mixture for the base, washed with Agrax and then applied a highlight of 1 part WB to 1 part GM
