According to the laws of warfare, a mercenary is not considered a prisoner of war and the Geneva Convention does not apply to him..I don't envy this guy. It is better for him to surrender to Russia, because there is a death penalty in the DPR.

@tyler I got in touch with the Georgian National Legion yesterday. I messaged them through Facebook, and spoke to them on the phone this morning. They're the real deal!
@tyler so the way it works is, you message them and send them a resume of your past military/ security experience, and they will set up a time for you to call. If they approve, They then explain the job to you and invite you to be interviewed in Kyev. This is not a paying job, but a gateway to being recruited into other units.

@tyler ok. Look them up on Facebook. They might have questions that I can't answer for you unfortunately. You'll have to do the leg work for that. They focus primarily on training civilians, not fighting, unless Russia actually invades. If that happens, they expect us to go to the front, at that point, we will be offered contracts with the regular army.
@tyler they provide food and shelter. Incase of fighting where we would deploy, they then start paying us under contract.
