Tracy saved not only his life but the lives of so many more men. God bless this hero
There was a lot of folks that did not come forward after Jeffrey Dahmer were caught because during that time be out and proud was not a thing or they were just in the closet but had escaped Jeffrey's grasp and I was one of them. I am so glad to be alive today and only told the story to 2 people that I know. Crazy thing is I ended up having sex with Tracy years after Jeffrey Dahmer. He looks nothing now how he looked before. I think drugs which led to homelessness and the horrors of living that nite has taken a toll on him.
In fact, not a hero, but a killer himself. Read the news, dude!
Not true. It was discovered by an independent witness he did not in fact push the guy into the Milwaukee River but tried to stop the other guy. That is why he was released. I live in Milwaukee and I had sex with Tracey. I am gay Black male and more than likely he went to Dahmer's home under the prelude of money for sex. He is what you call a street trade. Dahmer tried to lure me. That only that saved me was I was into street trade and I had my own money. @@misterablenow2102

I really feel bad for Tracy Edwards. He is obviously suffering from PTSD and was not given help for his trauma.
well...he accepted money to go to a man house for sex ( not just for pics) and he was in Milwake as he escaped from a different city where Policy was looking for him, after he molest a kid. also now he is in prison. Of course he was lucky to have escaped but not a so innocent man
@@Marketoromagnolohe done all of that AFTER he was nearly eaten .. not that I making excuses for his actions as it’s disgusting regardless ..
no , inform yourself, he escaped from policy froma different city because he molested a kid ( i dion't know if boy or girl), and escaped to Milwake, he also was already a drug user and hustler who went to dahmer house for money for sex( not just for pics), so not an inncoent guy , but of course it's not a reason to be killed! @@pearl3026

How you know he wasn't offered help?
This is the most incredible story i ever heard. Why was this guy not given reward money? He was the man who brought Dahmer to justice. The fact that he ended up homeless was a travasty. He should have been rewarded and taken care of for the rest of his life.
Because he’s black . They wanted him to just be grateful to be alive . Which I’m sure he was.
There was no reward because the police didn’t even know Dahmer was a killer. I’m glad Tracy Edwards survived and he should’ve received therapy for PTSD, and he should’ve received some money as restitution. Edwards was no saint before his encounter with Dahmer though.
He should have got a reward after they found out. So your saying he deserves nothing. I disagree.@@daCubanaqt
I never heard this man's story, it's incredible he's the reason Dahmer was caught
That's right, he's a hero. His reputation was tarnished from being accussed of helping push someone off a bridge, but it was never proven. Idk if it was true, so i won't hold it against him. Sad that he ended up homeless. I heard he is missing. I hope he is alive and doing well. He deserved better for what he did. He saved future lives. @@Adam-ye8cv

He was most definitely within days or weeks of getting caught regardless of Tracy getting away or not. His apartment was smelling up the whole building!
I think he would get caught eventually, either from the smell coming from his apartment, or video footage or witnesses connecting him to missing people.
There was the incident at the bath house thing where I think an ambulance was called, and the incident with the boy that escaped but was sent back by police to then be killed.
He is clearly suffering mentally. The government failed him.@@nathandavern7030

@@jaynebe4linda also he was charged in the murder of another man. Ironic
He is black !
Yeah even the way the guys asking :( this was for views & he’s almost digging details intensely
The fact that Dahmer, a caucasian man, literally moved into a predominantly black community and committed this level of atrocities, repeatedly, and Milwaukee's law enforcement REPEATEDLY ignored the reports from tenants and pleas of men who would've escaped from Dahmer before Tracy Edwards became his 18th victim, is probably just as grotesque and disgusting as the smell that wreaked from that monster's apartment.
That was nobody but God with him!
Facts!! They should have got jail time as well because really they are culpable.
He knew he would get away with it because it was all predominantly black neighborhood. So sad
@@dillon1263What about all the serial killers that get away with killing loads of white people then?.If Ted Bundys victims had been black, people would be saying "They never would've let him escape two separate times if his victims had been white women"...Jeffrey Dahmer was primarily attracted to black men, and obviously its easier to get away with crime in a crime ridden area so he moved where it was so.
Well yeah, not to mention most of those people in the apartment were doing drugs
Tracy Edwards deserved so much more. Therapy, healing, support. The time and circumstances of how black folks were looked at and responded to was not enough. The cops sucked completely especially when the teen boy was found unconscious...
Tracy Edwards now is homeless and living on the streets and he killed someone and now is in prison. I feel bad for Tracy Edwards and your right he did deserve alot more and he escaped a mad man a serial killer that killed 17 men and he almost could have died too. The fact that he was in a bad place with Jeffery Dahmer and didn't know what to do especially when Jeffery snapped he managed to save himself and escape he was a hero and then he got nothing and his life wasn't the same after Jeffery Dahmer was caught he had to testify and re live the situation all over again and it messed up his head badly. He was the ONLY man who fought back while others could NOT*** Jeffery Dahmer caused so much pain to so many ppl. He is dead now but the victims haven't found their peace and neither have the families. Oxford Apartments are all gone and there was no memorial for the victims. They all died one of them did try to escape when he was laying unconscious and the COPS brought him back to Dahmer thinking they were lovers. Jeffery Dahmer is in hell now but I don't think that DEVIL would not want him there either b/c Jeffery Dahmer was the devil himself.... Where ever Jeffery Dahmer is he left a chilling legacy. He was like Buffalo Bill from Slience Of The Lambs.
yeh that story of the incident when the boy ran for help but was returned to his killer is one of the most frustrating things i've heard
Geraldo is a monster in this. He just wanted the story. The way he spoke this man is heartless. Wow
Just no compassion. A piece of garbage. It's like you can actually feel his blind ambition to stoop to any level for success.
the way he would move on after the women told their tales, especially the mom of errol/earl (?) crazy
That's pretty much how he interviews everyone. He's just rude in general.
They all wanted the story. Oprah was a little bit more fake caring with hers but she went for the jugular vein in a way only Oprah can do and have you spill all your guts to her only for her to get a Hoover vacuum and suck them all up.
Oh girl it’s his job if he had to show care every second on air we would be here all day, but who knows what real remorse he showed behind stage and thanking him for coming out to his show. Either way his show his money get used to it
I don't understand why people call him the luckiest man alive. The fact that he was in dahmers apartment in first place is pretty unlucky
Obviously bc he is ALIVE!!! which would make him the luckiest bc those other men weren't lucky enough to get out or get away from that evil man.
@@melissadiamond1268 yes a no Brainer ! DUH. Sick horrible story here.

The luckiest man alive wouldn't have ever been in dahmer apartment he would be off somewhere winning the lotto. The fact 52 people recognized that. Shows people have different opinions on luck. There isnt a "no brainer" considering that luck is a matter of opinion and to me he's pretty unlucky considering his odds were to end up in a situation where he had to escape a serial killer.
@@melissadiamond1268 that's not obvious and doesn't make him lucky. We're all alive. The fact he even met dahmer says he has pretty bad luck. The fact he is alive is because he fought and survived. It must have been so hard to talk about this in a predominantly white audience as a black person in the early 90s. These people in the audience who asked questions about why you went back up don’t get why you had to obey these evil cops who didn’t believe you and made assumptions about you escaping from another cop. It’s crazy how cops patrolled that area all day and night but not for the citizens safety . Strictly to harass the neighborhood . This seemed like an upstanding gentlemen. The “hood” may get a bad rep , but there are genuine, efficient, and smart people in those areas.
That's why the police are prone to those neighborhoods because GOD forbid those true genuine, efficient and smart people apply all those qualities and shine worldwide expanding so many horizons. That's why so many officers harass those areas, it's all apart of the plan.
I’m glad Tracy survived, but upstanding guy? He previously fled Mississippi after committing sexually battery on a 13/14 year old girl in 1990. After this case, detectives from Mississippi recognized him and he was in jail afterward.
During that time if you were Black they assumed you were up to no good. The area was not actually that bad back then because I have lived in the area 4 years before Dahmer. Marquette University is located in the area and back then there were quite a bit of students who lived off campus in the area. But if you were white the cops never took a turn on you. That is just the way of the world. Does not make it right but it is what it is. That area now is gone to sh*t. Very scary sh*t happens around there. Marquette University is still there and going strong but just on the news the other day they said at least 3 students apartments were broken into and those were on campus.

I love how he praise God at the same time telling this traumatizing story I can only hope he really got the help he needed❤
Tracy's life went spiraling down after the horrible encounter with this monster. 😔
Craziest sh*t is he was the most handsome athletic guy during the time. He also had a twin brother which interesting enough stayed out of the spotlight and with good reason. They must have been fraternal twins because the brother was even more handsome and more athletic than Tracey. I sometimes wonder if Dahmer also made a go for him as well. From what it sounds like he did not just happen upon all his victims by coincidence. This was way before the term stalking was etching into our lexicon but it sounds like that is what he did with some of his victims and when he did make contact with them he made it appear organic and it was anything but.
“He was gonna be the big daddy” seems really inappropriate to say to someone who escaped a serial killer rapist
Well he's the one that started out the conversation by saying they were goin to go hustle some beer and dicks.

Before police bodycam, this man feared tthe Milwaukee Police Department more than Dahmer with no hesitation!!!

He was definitely a sweetheart… loved ppl always happy kept a smile on his face etc…
Yes but he looks no where nears like he did during that time. Life, drugs and memory of that night apparently has taken a toll on him.
These monsters always get away with the crimes they commit against people of color and people seem so insensitive to what happens to us the police has been a failure failure failure even though we know they were designed to stalk and control and to hurt us
He was just an extension of the police department if you ask me this and these type of people are the ones who have on police
The thing that creeps me out the most till this day is even Tracy mentioned the camera in Jeff’s apartment. The camera was literally the ONLY thing left out of every single police report, never brought up in court, never mentioned. What In the Fk was on that security camera in the living room….
That’s crazy
Apparently it was fake and just for show to scare off any potential people breaking in... Dahmer was super paranoid about someone breaking into his place for very good reason... The neighborhood he was living in was crime ridden.
He escaped from a maniac and a CANNIBAL!!!! Praise God he's ok
I watched this when it first aired.... Glad you posted it.
I love this guy’s personality it’s so unique.
Poor Tracy, he did not have an easy life. Is he still with us? Bless him
Why are they working so hard to humanize Dahmer when he did inhumane things to the people he kidnapped ate and killed? Dahmer was lower than a monster and an animal.

Sounds about white!
Because he actually was human , and we need to understand that humans do things like this . Don’t put anything pass anyone.
It's called systemic racism. Designed to benefit white people.
May be because he had two sides, and show us his best one. May be there is some schizophrenia. Tracy Edwards was the only one who saw Dahmer’s worse and remain alive.
At the court he said that JD kinda switched between two personalities. The one as we know and second - violent and aggressive, and even hos facial/body features suddenly had been changed. I believe he was deeply sick.
Wow , his pain is actually palpable through the screen I actually started getting choked up
That is one of the most horrible situations to be in. From all the people in the world, he was the one to experience this:(
And the 16 others experienced it as well. Can you hear
It’s clear that the audience member nor Geraldo doesn't know how trauma works. He’s wasn’t being heroic as Geraldo calls it. He was actually disassociating which can happen as a protective barrier/protection mechanism. It’s like the body and the brain aren’t unified and the victim is operating on auto pilot. I love how he continued to acknowledge God regardless of what he was faced with. Many blessings and healing to him.
Geraldo didn’t care about the man’s trauma, holy shit have some compassion
Yea. Geraldo can go to hell
They keep making this man relive this horrific trauma over and over and over 😢😡
I'm sure he agreed to do this and weren't forced although I get your point
I’m sure he got paid for it
@@SiTengoHambremoney means absolutely jack 💩.
He said he had God with him, & that's what helped make him make the right decisions..I believe him
Maybe it’s me but these interviews really bring the pain back to the victims
No it's probably similar to what is coined as 2nd rape. Rape victim takes rapists to trial and it is almost as if she is put on trial on having to relive every minor detail of her experience, hence the term 2nd rape. So one could only imagine Mr. Edward's mind frame.
If he hadn't gone back to that apartment, Jeffrey Dahmer might have never been caught.
He got away from Jeffrey Dahmer but couldn't get away from the trauma. This man should have gotten help a long time ago and maybe then his life wouldn't be so troubled now.
I can't even imagine the trauma this encounter must have had on him as well as learning if the horrors of what happened in that house
“And then I kicked him in the face because I guess he didn’t know that I had martial arts experience.” 😂😂😂
Sooooo glad you made it out man... I'm so sorry this happened to you.
I'm glad that Tracy's lawyer stepped in for him. He was about to break. 😁🥰
God Bless you Mr Edwards, I am so sorry you had to go through this.I wish you all the best in your future.I hope you continue to go through healing.
I love how he has his lawyer walk through the case
This interview and questions would’ve been handled so much differently today
The system failed him. They never took care of him after the horror he went through. I heard he's out of prison now and I hope he's good.
Love, peace, and healing to this man wherever he may be. So well spoken and courageous. ✊🏾
He ended up throwing a man off a bridge, then killing himself.
He was pretty smart to trick Dahlmer and get free of him. I wish the rest of Tracey,s life had been better.
Jeffrey didn’t know this man was Bruce LeRoy. 😂😂🤣
Got em..
The fact that he was homeless after this happened ....., the government failed him. This poor man
The Milwaukee police should've been held at fault for some of those murders. If they would've done their job they could've saved lives. Especially the young boy he killed.
This is an interrogation... masked as a survivor story! This poor man not only had to endure this trauma but now this asshole is speaking to him like he is dahmer. Yuk!
I would say 8 locks would be an immediate red flag
Maybe now you would.. remember, this is the late 80’s, early 90’s.
@@Ishbikes no matter. The trauma this person suffered is unimaginable and it seems he was used for ratings too and never was helped to get the help he needed - tragic

Geraldo is so terrible for interviewing him and asking him all these ignorant questions!! Poor guy is clearly traumatized 🥲
so happpy i stumbled upon this video; gave me the story about this individual that i wanted to hear. the pain he felt when detailing the moment he saw a heart, head hands etc. in the fridge and dahmer saying isnt that beautiful
God…hopefully this man can recover from the horror. Could NEVER EVER imagine what he went through.
Thank you for preserving these old videos. I feel this man has experienced so much trauma and undoubtedly suffered from ptsd.
Geraldo's interviewing method made me angry the entire time! It's like, okay then, what happened? Then what happened? Then what happened? There's no empathy or compassion coming from Geraldo. He says a lot of words that should make Geraldo look and sound like he cares. Nothing but hollow words. He could care less about the trauma and more about getting the story.
I hope Tracy had a wonderful life. My heart breaks for the families that were victims of Dahmer. He was such a monster.
true like his is more interested on the story, his the one who was smug on the face
He did not have a wonderful life
Poor Tracy.
Tracy ended up killing someone. He ended up doing a stint in jail. He hasnt been seen or heard of since his release years ago. He ended up homeless. I feel so sorry for this man he didnt have the support he needed.
He was involved in an argument that lead too someone being killed, he didint kill anyone himself, bit of research wouldn’t do any harm…
How awful. He probably wished he could’ve killed dahmer instead. Poor man, he was failed by the system and deserved humane treatment😢
That has nothing to do with the dahmer case. Stop trying to throw dirt on Edwards name.
Watch his interrogation; it’s on CZcams. He didn’t kill anyone.
Dahmer was a Wyatt moooonsta..... lets be real
Geraldo could care less about this man. He just wanted to say as much stuff as he could to get a reaction from him.
Tracy ended up becoming a drug addict and killed someone, he did not get the help he should have
Yeah no excuse for killing. How yall going to give Tracy a pass and not Jeff. ITs all bad

What ! Where can I find his story ? They never helped him because he is black. I know how that feels. My mental health is a mess.
Watch the police interrogation. He was most likely innocent but the police was really adamant on trying to make something stick so he was pushed to take a plea for 1.5 years.
And just the fact that it was only 1.5 years over a man’s death is quite telling of his lack of involvement.

Hearing that the story is different from the court, I think it's because he didn't want to let people know that he was gay and remove parts from the story that proves him from being gay.
yes not a so innocent guy, he had just escaped from a different city after he molested a guy, and police was loojking for him! he is in prison now

@@Marketoromagnolo 8 why are you going to every post pointing out this man’s past atrocities? Why? Nobody has been saying that this man is innocent and that’s not what this video is about. The chick asking him why he would go back is insane to me!
This is how it always is/was. A yt person comes to the neighborhood ALL trust is put into them. It's disgusting
Because I think that is the way we have been conditioned and some yt people even count on it. I lived and still live in Milwaukee Wisconsin. That area where it happened has gone to sh*t. It was not as bad back then as it was described in the media, but I get it, that is to add more context to the movie. I had lived in the area at least 4 years before the Dahmer reign of terror and it was an area frequented by quite a few college students from Marquette University and it was ok to live in. But now it is the scariest sh*t over there. I have not lived over there in almost 30 years. When I do go to the area I am usually on the expressway. The Milwaukee Bucks basketball arena Fiserv Forum is not too far. Back then it was called the Milwaukee Auditorium where all sports venues were. The Bradley Center which preceded Fiserv Forum had not been built yet. In it's place of the Bradley center there was also a Mc Donald's and Ambrosia Chocolate Factory where Dahmer had apparently worked 3rd shift. It was there they discovered he was bringing some of the heads to work and keeping in his locker.

Why is Geraldo a psychopath?
@@tiatia0404 He seems obsessed with murderers.
I'm being a little tongue in cheek but he just displays a complete lack of sensitivity. chasing sensationalism. he actually speculates, out loud, to a guest on his show whose family member was gruesomely murdered, that another person, sitting in the same room in front of a live studio audience, who experienced a degree of terror and trauma few others will come close to knowing, "probably saw your dead family member's mortal remains." lol like wtf? you can feel everyone in the whole room thinking, "why the fuck would you even say that?" @@tiatia0404

All of these people, the neighbors, his landlord etc. are writing books, and the books are quiet good and detailed, but I think it would be interesting if that guy Nick, who knew Dahmer more personally wrote one. Im sure there would be more details that people never knew about.
The graphic memoir "My Friend Dahmer" by Derf Backderf is outstanding. Backderf (who wrote and drew it) knew Dahmer in high school. Not only is the story interesting on its own, but it also provides a look at what R. Crumb calls a "sinister" 1970s adolescent world. People always think that "these kids today" are awful, but quite frankly, a lot of things have changed for the better since then!
Also, "My Friend Dahmer" was made into a movie, but I haven't seen it.
