- John Kramer (Tobin Bell) is back. The most disturbing installment of the Saw franchise yet explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw's most personal game. Set between the events of Saw I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer - only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Im super excited for this. I love that John Kramer is the actual "protagonist" and that we dig deeper into his personal life and reasoning behind his torture
His minions are the ones that enjoy torture. John doesn't torture them; in Saw 2, John explains his reasoning is to see if people actually value their lives. Those who truly want to live will do anything including mutilating themselves, a perfect example is Amanda, who have a reverse bear trap in the first movie and instead of dying, Amanda decide she wanted to live and stab/cut open her unconscious cellmate in the stomach; stuck her hands inside searching for the key to free herself. Thus proving John's philosophy correct.
@@countrichmoremoneybags it‘s one thing to stab someone elses stomach than to actually make the tasks nearly impossible. I get that he wanted to test their will to live but it‘s humanly impossible to perform brain surgery on yourself to prove your will to live
@@23masterblade John's traps are not impossible because if you listen carefully to John's words, when he introduced his traps; he also drops hints on how escape from his traps. There is a video CZcams that shows how easily you can escape John's traps(can't remember what the video called.) The other traps that are impossible to escape are made by his minions; not by John.

@@23masterblade The video is called How to beat every trap in Saw by HitStart. He has a playlist for all the movies, but I want you to focus on Saw and Saw 2 because those are the traps that were comfrim made by John and no esle. The rest of traps; yes, they were originally designed by John, but his traps were altered by Hoffman(some by Amanda as well, but mainly Hoffman) to be impossible to escape.
Looking forward to this one, but nothing will ever be the same or come close to beating the theater reaction, in the first Saw when John stood up off the floor revealing he was the “dead guy” in the middle of the room, watching them and listening the whole time. The whole theater erupted in shock when he stood up. Hands down greatest movie scene reaction I’ve ever seen.

I agree. Saw one was amazing and the second one was pretty good, after that it was all down hill. But regardless I doubt they will ever have a plot twist as shocking as the ending to the original. I felt my heart in my throat during the ending to the first.

And 4 had a very clever way to keep him in it (even though it was a small amount of screen time anyway). He wasn't in 9 (spiral) and (Jigsaw)... Eh, it was kind of clever but cheated a little.

I dont care what anyone says, this is a awesome series, i like them all. Honestly i do wish they left off what happened to hoffman, i thought they would bring back Dr gordon and hoffman, since hoffman is still alive but trapped. I dont think we are ever gonna see that now.

The Saw timeline is perfectly reconfigured if you imagine that the Saw films are actually all about John Krammer having a really long fever dream after a successful tumor removal, but due to complications he is stuck in a coma.

i was never a big fan of the SAW franchise, but somehow i'm excited about this one. ... trailer well done !
Idc what anyone says this looks amazing, a more in depth of john kraemer, instead of his "sucessors", but im very happy to see amanda again. Probably the best trap ive heard about and seen in this trailer is the one from the poster. I hope he fails that test so we can see dome amazing practical affects. Hopefully the movie is mostly if not all practical affects and no cgi. That would make this perfect for me.

Despite how good this looks it’s an odd choice to go back in time and make this movie kinda isolated. Also sucks that the strike will still be going on so Tobin bell doesn’t get too promote what is likely his last saw movie😢
Prequels aren't really an oddity. If anything else, Jigsaw and Spiral are the isolated ones, Spiral being pretty much spin off.
@@JesterPrince yeah but that’s what they have been doing in recent years and they go back in time and the director said you don’t even need to watch any of them to get this one. The best part of saw is watching how all the movies connected. So to me this feels even more isolated then the last two.
Going back to a prequel allows the movie to be a little more free without having to jump through hoops to carry on the convoluted story line. No real stakes to work in, since we know what happens after. Looking forward to it! I hope Tobin Bell enjoys it all. He's so iconic
It isn't the first time they went back in time, they've done good and had some flops with that as well. Realistically I think it would be better for them to move forward with Dr. Gordon as the new game master, but the director's have said that they think Dr. Gordon is played out. I'm sure by now with all the new ideas they keep having with Tobin Bell (John Kramer), they regret killing his character in the third chapter.
@@the-dramatic-nerd That's a good outlook on it too. Personally I think that even if you can watch it as stand alone, it imo will have greater effect if you do know all the movies, specifically those in the "main line."
What a wholesome narrative about a cancer patient seeking healing so he can provide for his pregnant wife! I can't wait to take my young, impressionable children to see this!

Wow, there are sure some weird people that reply to these things. As if you just fell off a turnip truck and don’t realize how the world works. There will always be movies, tv shows, music, etc that aren’t suitable for children, thats why you don’t take them. Act like a parent, quit asking/demanding the world change to fit your narrative, grow a pair and teach your kids what you feel they should know.
So excited for this, never been able to watch saw in the cinema because most of them came out before I was born 😂, this one comes out after my birthday so excited

I think that it is really fitting how Saw X is in between Saw and Saw II:
1. My guess is that after nursing Dr. Gordon back to health at the end of Saw, Saw X would begin with John Kramer consulting Dr. Gordon and maybe asking him (or Logan Nelson) for medical advice for his cancer, which will lead John Kramer to this medical facility in Mexico to treat his cancer.
2. After discovering that the medical staff in Mexico are scammers, John Kramer sets up his most personal game/test on these people which will be the main plot of this movie.
3. Returning back to the US with a newfound purpose of carrying on his life's work (with Amanda), John Kramer sets out to fix injustice in the world, leading him to his next victim/target, which is Detective Eric Matthews, where Saw X will end and Saw II begin.

Exactly. This film was set between Saw 1 and Saw 2 So the first game was the first saw film and Saw 2 was the third game that means that Saw X was supposedly the second game that took place.
Jigsaw was the 1st game. Saw was the 2nd game. Saw X is the 3rd and Saw 2 was the 4th

I feel like some of the nurses and doctors that took care of my mom completely neglected the evidence that cancer hadn’t spread to her brain yet, and just put her on absurd amounts of morphine and it absolutely killed her faster, this movie is gonna be so swag for me

Plot twist: John got dementia because of cancer, all killings and traps occured only in his head. He would be dragged into retirement home by his cousins while "hello zepp" plays at background and Kramer yelling.

Honestly its impressive a horror franchise has reached its 10th installment and still in cinemas. I dont expect antthing much as long as its better than spiral.
