- Witness the incredible moment when our Highland cow, Blue, gives birth to her second calf, captured in stunning 4K resolution! 🌟
After trying all year to catch this amazing event, we finally succeeded with our 4th calf of the year. In this video, you'll see just how quickly and smoothly Highland cattle can calve, often without needing any assistance.
Highland cattle are a fantastic breed to raise, known for their resilience and natural birthing abilities. In this video, you'll notice the sack still intact and only one hoof visible when we realized the birth was happening. It’s a truly remarkable experience that showcases the natural beauty and strength of these animals.

What a good mom. Thank you for turning that calf I was concerned for its neck. I love highlands.
Me too they are great. I was giving it a moment to see if it would right itself and didn't want to startle the mom. All went well though. 🙂
omg that little calf looks so darn cute!!!!!!!!!!
Love Highland cattle! Yes, they like privacy.
Beautiful calf! Worried about the Calf!!
Beautiful mama and baby! 😊🤗
Thank you for watching and leaving feedback. 🙂
Congratulations new baby. She is so happy.
She sure is. Glad that it went well.
She’s a good mama❤️❤️
Sure is. This calf, last years calf, and mom all hang out together. 😍
oof! how it dropped with it's neck twisted... I'd be all up on it "helping"🤣! Lovely stuff!!
I thought the same thing, wanted to give him a moment to see if he would correct himself. Then offer a bit of assistance. Glad all went well.

Valha-me Deus!!!
I am grateful that I can simply watch this amazing birth of life from home.. Why does the mother cattle re-ingest the placenta?
I did some research and found that many animals do this to replenish the nutrients they gave to their babies during pregnancy. It's amazing nature.
@@fauveride I think it is also a way of hiding the birth from predators.
That and it helps to hide the newborn from possible predators. Thanks for the comment, I was so glad to be able to present for the birth and be able to share it with others. 🙂
What was with all the licking?
Aww goid job girl
👌
Hey guy gold shaw figured out buying really wide fly paper in the area most near the cows and changing it out when filled up he turned buckets and trash cans upside down and wrapped with it he had sone it for 2 weeks and maybe seen 1 or 2 flys near one cow he had maybe 7-8 cows he said he got the paper at ag center
I'll have to give that a try.
Just checked out Gold Shaw Farm's fly video, thanks for pointing me in that direction, just subscribed to them also.
Sie will ihre Ruhe haben und ihr lauft immer wieder hinterher.
She trying to tell you to stop following here. They like privacy when calving
For sure. I've had problem births twice before, so I get a bit concerned until I know the baby is presented right. Was able to save the baby and mom both times, but I still get a bit worried. Usually I seem to miss the birth by just a little bit, probably a blessing as there is no stress then. 🙂
Would have been interesting to see how mother would have straightened out that twisted mess she created.
I was thinking the same thing, but it looked uncomfortable. Just made the quick decision to help out. Thank you for the feedback.
