    You’re the man Kent! Hiding mistakes doesn’t earn respect the way recognizing and fixing mistakes does. I appreciate your videos and your honesty and you have my respect sir.

      Thanks man! In my defense, I was thinking it would be the same as the CT70 stator cover 🤣

    I always put a bit of assembly lube in new bearings to protect them until the oil gets there

    I installed one of these last week also did the cam chain tensioner and white button on the hydraulic for the cam chain tensioner

    I've been meaning to do this for my grom for a long time, even have the bearing but forgot I have an SF stator so the retaining clip doesn't line up.

    I highly recommend you do the oil mod! I have the Monkey and I had the Takegawa version of the 4th bearing installed. Last month, the Monkey started whining so I decided to return home gently but after 10miles, coffee grinder noise. Bearing broke and bearing bits all over. Fortunately, most big chunks were kept within rhe rotor cup and the hard bits stuck to the rotor mangets. Had it in there for maybe 1.5k miles without issues. I replaced the rotor and stator but I dont feel like drilling a hole in my side cover so I'm going back to stock..

    Thank you for the great content! I was hoping by the title of the video it was about the same issue as my 23 Grom, in 4th or 5th after riding in upper RPMs I’ll get this sort of “whirring unlubricated bearing or gear mesh noise”. It will go away at lower speeds, seems to happen after/when running engine at high speeds/RPMs. Was thinking it’s internal and not chain/sprocket. Ever had this?

      I’ve heard of others experiencing this (but have never seen in person) sounds like a bad bearing but must be more to it if multiple people are experiencing…

    • @CIarkNova
      @CIarkNova Před rokem +1

      I’ve had it too. I can’t hear it over my exhaust now, and plus the grom has been down for a little bit, but supposedly i believe it’s something to do wi the second gear/bushing being too tight. I have the replacements, but have yet to install them.
      Mine first started doing it at like 800 miles or so.

      That sounds like the stock rear sprocket

    • @CIarkNova
      @CIarkNova Před rokem +1

      @@MrJroc04si it’s not. Rear sprocket bell whine is different than the left side bearing whine. A lot of people have reported it. I’ve experienced it myself.
      Yourube ‘grom noise’

    the low engine brace helps whith vibration ,you didn't go for the drilled stator oil mod ,takagawa don't state it in instructions ,not sure if it's essential , I did

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  Před rokem +1

      Yeh, if I start getting a whine from the bearing I’ll consider doing the oil mod, the bearings are cheap to replace.

      I put only 150km on a 4valve whithout oil mod and" (the wirling hath cometh)...I'd also like to say speedshop cc bearings loudly 🏁☘

    I don’t have a BBK, just intake, cam, yoshi and aracer. I did change my spark plugs to aracer spark plug. Noticed more vibration after that especially on higher rpm on the 4th gear. Hopefully this will help.

    I had the same vibe at 9000 on my 2019 monkey. Installed the 4th bearing and it changed nothing. Just my experience.

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  Před rokem +2

      After the Grom install I installed on my ‘19 Monkey and it def brought down the vibrations. Vibrations aren’t gone but noticeably reduced and I can ride at that RPM without my feet getting buzzed off the pegs 😂

    Would it add to bearing longevity if some Redline CV2 grease was installed on the ball bearing? I don't see any reason running this bearing dry. Seems really risky.
