This is the video I didn’t know I needed 😅. I’ve been eyeing the Roterfaden and Systemic covers for a while. Thanks for being so thorough with the review! ❤

This has got to be one of *THEE* 😊 most genuine, useful, and aesthetic videos on notebooks and covers that I’ve watched. You’ve done a great job of addressing most concerns a journaler/note taker/stationery nerd could have. I’ve recently purchased a Roterfaden Taschenbegleiter SO-20, and am awaiting delivery of an ST-17. And I’ll, of course, take a closer look at the Kokuyo brand. Thanks for a great video.

Just ordered the Roterfaden Taschenbegleiter and can't wait to use it. I am so intrigued by the clip system being so versatile and user friendly. Great video!

Thank you for this, it was super helpful. I went ahead and ordered a Roterfaden - can't wait to receive it!

Loved the video! My favourite covers are my A5 dark brown Roterfaden (LOVE IT)!, my undyed A5 Galen Leather Zip Folio, and my standard size undyed Travelers Notebook cover from Eternal Leather. Those three I love using! I’ve just received my first Roterfaden about a month ago and I couldn’t be happier! I totally agree that it’s so versatile and a joy to use and hold!

Thank you for this video. I want to get the Systemic one. It looks so functional and it would be perfect for my planner system this year! I love all the pockets and places you can put notebooks.

I finally received an ST17 direct from Roterfaden Germany. Paid u$40 for DHL international courier service. Took over two months to reach Canada. Roterfaden claim they have no other shipping choices! My package was labelled economy and low priority! Speaks to how Roterfaden values quick service. Nice binder but I won’t be spending again on this product when Roterfaden don’t seem to be customer focused.

Shipping from Roterfaden to Canada is very expensive. I do like their notebook system and covers. I also have notebook covers from Paper Republic in Vienna. Shipping from Paper Republic is much less expensive and fast! However Paper Republic use the elastic method for notebooks.

You are not picky about the zip covers. I have been looking for a zip cover for sooo long, but none of them lay completely flat, except the galen leather one which is not only a fortune but has all these extra things on the left inside that makes a bumpy surface to write on (big pen lopps and such). You are not alone :D

Thank you! It would be great to find a nice zipper cover that doesn´t cost a fortune.

Thank you for sharing these two covers. Very nice video! Do you know if the Roterfaden would hold the HoboNichi 5-year diary on its own? Thank you!

That´s a good question. I don´t have an a5 notebook as big as the 5 year diary. My guess is that it could fit if it is the only notebook inside.

I’m a medical student who will be taking a lot of notes on patients, professors, and other doctors. I will also be doing some doodling and sketching, along with journaling my thoughts and ideas, so I’ll be having 3 or so thin notebooks, plus my iPad mini which is roughly 8 x 5 inches. I think the Kokuyo would fit my needs very well. Any recommendation for good refill notebooks that won’t bleed using a fountain pen? Also, I wasn’t able to find the other cover you gave your brother on your channel. What was it called again?
    Thanks!

Midori A5 notebook are affordable and the paper is decent. I have been loving the Apica notebooks. The paper is very smooth and great with fountain pens.

Very interesting thank you, I thought the Roterfaden wouldn't hold tight the notebooks but I see it does! Do they make them in B6? I hope you coukd make a review of B6 covers. I've tried different B6 covers from different fabrics, leathers etc and so far, Etsy Oribushop in Portugal, has the best prices and customizable options for me. I always have problems with covers of all sizes because either I need to remove the notebook to write since cover is too bulcky (which mostly depends how many pens, stationary I put in it of course) or zippers, locks, etc uneven the surface to write flat. I like to use a cover to protect my notebooks without needing to remove them every time I write and at the same time, put in them stationary to use too...Maybe I should go back when a simple pen/pencil and a simple notebook did the job 🤪🤣😂🤣

I have been looking for more B6 covers that are not bulky. I don´t think Roterfaden makes B6. I will try Oribushop. Thanks!
