Great tips. The basic rule is to divide up after-tax income and allocate it to spend: 50% on needs, 30% on wants, and socking away 20% to savings.
I'm shocked that it's already August. One of my coworkers said the other day that we're on week 21 of working from home. This pandemic has seriously warped my perception of time. Great tips and totally agree - budgeting is so important!
I know! Time is flyinggg
Great video! Our number one focus for August is building our ER Fund more. I was inspired by your budget video. *new subscriber *
Awesome!! And welcome :)
Love the channel. It's super inspiring. Looking forward to some more content, subscribed!
Awesome, thank you!! Welcome :)
I love how you map out this! A huge fan here!
Thank you!! Thanks for being here
Omg, I’m half asleep watching this and when you said you had some tea, I thought you meant gossip and then I remembered that’s the other side of CZcams I watch besides budgeting and finances 🥴 love the vid btw.
bahahaha oh I can spill some tea if you want!
My focus for August is student loan debt! That will be the case for quite some time, but I'm putting around 50%+ of my income towards it. I don't make that much, but I'm putting as much as I can towards my loans ESPECIALLY since interest is paused.
Yes!! Now is the time to really pay down those student loans.
This month is AUGUST!?! I have the same feelings lol a savings of 46% is incredible! Great update :)
Thanks! Yeah I know, time is flyinggg
I am working on wrapping up my 3rd month of my emergency fund! I am floored that August is here also. 2020 has flown by but also feels like an eternity. Happy Friday!
Ohh nice! 3 months worth in an EF sounds like a great goal!
Focused on saving for my 6-month emergency fund!
Yayyy!!! Love having a fully-funded EF. You got this!
Yes! Budget expenses will be different for every month, and this month, many folks are finding a bigger expense in back to school supplies (especially if they now need to home school due to the pandemic)
I feel for those families who are prob so confused on whether their kids are headed back to school or homeschooling!
Our August focus is funding our emergency fund 😊
Love it!
Budgeting makes the biggest difference! My life just changed when I started my budget spreadsheet.
💯💯
We are focusing on paying down my credit card debt and saving for home renovations
Yay!! Love that focus!
Wow San Diego is expensive. I bought a house in Long Beach ca and your rent is my mortgage, taxes and homeowners insurance.
We live in a really nice building so while it's a TON of money, we got a lot out of it!
Lol bought house in desert town in ca my Mortage is cheaper then my studio I rented out in Long Beach
Midwest girl here. Your rent makes me wanna throw up 😂 that’s 3x my house payment.
I knooow... that's how it is in SoCal. I'm originally from Kansas so I completely understand!
@@DebtFreeMillennials Yea! I'm from Kansas City : )
Wow when you get a house you’re going to feel great, because technically you’re allocating $5,800 right now toward housing!!!!! Wow! Hopefully you can get a mortgage for less than that :)
I know, Kyle was telling me that the other day and I was like ohh.. yeah you're right!
Do you use your HSA for therapy expenses? I’m not sure if they’re an eligible expense, but would be nice if it was.
No, unfortunately it's not an eligible expense. I'll have to double check if CARES Act created an exception for that but doubtful... this country needs to be more proactive with mental health coverage.
What kind of therapist?
She is a licensed MFT counselor! I've been working with her for over a year now. Highly recommend therapy.
My number one goal is getting my savings account built back up to $2500. I should accomplish that with my fiat paycheck!
Nice, I love that goal!!
Your camera keeps getting blurry then focus then blurry then focus etc. Is there something wrong with the auto focus ??
You mean while I'm at the table? It's prob auto-focusing on my hand moving.
