Grew up in Indy and my dad had Pacer season tickets from 1982-99. I was there the night Reggie was booed at the draft party because the Pacers did not take Steve Alford. My dad learned over to me and said, "Give him a chance." And we did. And for so many years I got to watch Reggie at MSA from Section 8, Row A, seat.105. Worth every penny (of my dad's pennies....I did not pay for the seats). Met Reggie numerous times too. Super chill guy off the court, but on court was a different story.
That's awesome. I watched many these moments live and I think it's great that it's getting shared with the next generation. I wish there was something like this channel when I was growing up so I could have learned more about the legends before my time.
Great seeing Pacers #31 getting some respect! Another thing that doesn't get mentioned often is that Reggie played his entire career for Indiana despite likely having opportunities to play or make more money elsewhere. He was loyal to the organization and the fans in Indiana and we absolutely miss hearing "Reggie for thrrreeeeeeeeee!" during game broadcasts.

I am from México and watching mostly Chicago Bulls games (MJ era), I was amazed when I saw Reggie Miller's clutch shots, specially in close games. I even bought the blue jersey of him...got nothing but respect for Reggie "Mr Clutch" Miller.
I grew up in Chicago so obviously I was a Bulls fan and MJ is my GOAT....but I have so much respect for Reggie. Fierce competitor, great clutch shooter, made the Bulls really earn that last trip to the Finals. Only one who pushed MJ and the Bulls to a game 7. This guy will kill ya at the end of a close game. One of the greatest to never get a ring.

I couldn't stand Mr. Miller when he played. The attitude & especially the leg kicks trying for cheap fouls. ... Total flopper as well. Nowadays though, I dig him. Great broadcaster & loved catching him on the Dan Patrick Show back when it was on TV (don't believe it is now?). ... Something about his personality is somehow or another comforting to me.... Can't properly articulate why ... just is. All in all, great dude & a great clutch player.

Went to school with Reggie and his sister Cheryl in elementary and Jr High. I can tell first hand that those two from a young age where outstanding athletes. Cheryl probably got more attention but Reggie was no less of an athlete. I’ll always remember him hitting ten free throws in a row on sports day in sixth grade, on the ten foot rim. Like it was nothing.

Growing up I wanted to be like Mike, he’s was my guy. But, I also wanted to shoot like Reggie. Playing juniors up to seniors in the late 80’s to 90’s everyone on the team wanted #23 so our coach said no one can have it, so I got #31 because of Reggie. My coach used to crack it when I launched a 3😂😂. I still have my jersey.
Reggie is an all time great player and hands down one of the best shooters of all time... if he had played in today’s NBA, he would have averaged 30 pts a game easily

In the 90s Reggie was a fringe all star, only a good player but not an elite player and never got an MVP vote. If Reggie played today, he would easily be a top 5 player and get significant MVP votes for multiple years.
There's only a few people that I would give the ball to in a clutch situation over Reggie. None of them still play. Jordan and Bird and probably the only two. Not saying I'd pick him to start my franchise over everybody else, but in the clutch you can't go wrong with Miller Time.

Also also, the 1998 Bulls v. Pacers series in the Eastern finals is probably the most entertaining, intense basketball you will ever see. Bron's comeback in '16 is probably the greatest series of all time, but several of those games were just blowouts. Every single game in the '98 EC finals was a nailbiter with the home team eeking out a win in every game.

You know how close the pacers could have been to a dynasty? If the lottery was not instituted ewing was a pacer. They were the worst team so if not for that lottery ewing was going there & they drafted reggie 2 years later. Ewing got to the finals w/o second perennial all star twice. Reggie once but he had a sometime all star in smits. I wish miller & ewing teamed up in the east bc instead of their teams knocking eachother out every year theyd be together & would have beat the bulls. The bulls had zero answer for ewing which is why those series were so tough. Miller could compete with jordan. Not be better but get his 25 to 30 in the playoffs. During the free agency bonanza in 96 I was stunned the Knicks did not offer reggie the moon to come to ny & instead got houston. Ugh. Plus I learned reggie's wife was an aspiring actress & model & hated living in Indiana. If I was the Knicks I would have appealed to him about his wife coming to nyc as well. Reggie also had his home burned down. I gotta give ewing & reggie credit they never jumped ship. They both wanted to beat jordan not join him. As historians goes for a dynasty or just to win a title bc the 90s had so many hof stars u needed 2 hof guys. The jazz had that & still could not get it done. Maybe bc Stockton was the assist guy. Maybe they needed a hof sg. The pistons imo had the best back court ever in dumars & thomas & laimbeer while a sociopath which is too bad bc he was a good player. He could give u 27 on a given night. He set picks well & was great help on defense. He did not have to play dirty. Then u had rodman & mahorn on the fwd spots & vinnie the microwave johnson off the bench. That team could have 4 peated. They won the finals imo until that b.s. phantom call at the end when jabar missed the skyhook. In 87 thomas just had a rare lapse & instead of any player looking at the daly screaming for a time out Isiah rushed a pass in way off where bird stole it & give dj major credit for cutting fast to the basket & made a tough layup on 2 guys. If they won that which was in the bag the celtics were not winning game 6 in detroit esp with parish suspended.

You know how close the pacers could have been to a dynasty? If the lottery was not instituted ewing was a pacer. They were the worst team so if not for that lottery ewing was going there & they drafted reggie 2 years later. Ewing got to the finals w/o second perennial all star twice. Reggie once but he had a sometime all star in smits. I wish miller & ewing teamed up in the east bc instead of their teams knocking eachother out every year theyd be together & would have beat the bulls. During the free agency bonanza in 96 I was stunned the Knicks did not offer reggie the moon to come to ny & instead got houston. Ugh. Plus I learned reggie's wife was an aspiring actress & model & hated living in Indiana. If I was the Knicks I would have appealed to him about his wife coming to nyc as well. In 87 thomas just had a rare lapse & instead of any player looking at the daly screaming for a time out Isiah rushed a pass in way off where bird stole it & give dj major credit for cutting fast to the basket & made a tough layup on 2 guys. If they won that which was in the bag the celtics were not winning game 6 in detroit esp with parish suspended.
